I got the most basic Speed Queen washer dryer in 2015, and have had no problems at all. It's best to get the most simple one you can get - mechanical controls, little or no electronics, etc. SIMPLE means less to break.
@John Jacob How so? All new SQ machines on their website use electronic control boards even the ones that have knobs which in reality are are electronic encoders. The last mechanical model was in 2015 from what I've heard
The dealer can fix an actual broken or malfunctioning part, but she's kinda doing the right thing by telling the manufacturer that the *design* of the machine is such that it just doesn't clean very well - because it doesn't. Every test I've seen of the TR (and even most of the tests of the TC believe it or not!) show that they just... don't clean very well. But what all these Americans dont realize now that they're all doing the trendy thing lately of fetishizing these Speed Queen washers is that they're designed for commercial use - commercial meaning apartments, dorms, etc... places where the actual cleaning performance is absolutely not a concern, the only concern of the purchasing organization is expected lifespan and TCO. If you look at commercial operations where *actually cleaning well* is a requirment - like hotels, hospitals, and other institutions, you'll notice that they *only* use front load machines. Terrible performing and energy hogging Speed Queen top loaders are like Stanley cups - people are suddenly *convinced* they need one and that it will make their life complete, but the truth is they're not very nice machines to live with and cost *literally thousands* of extra dollars over the life of the machine to run!
@@deidrabay I own plenty of washers but I don't own a Speed Queen front load, so I can't speak personally to their performance or reliability... however I've had a few customers with them and talked about them... the general consensus seems to be similar to the top load models in that they're designed first and foremost for multi-family settings - relatively few "creature comforts" and slow spin speed (dryer energy costs in commercial applications are generally of zero importance lol), but with the better cleaning that's less dependant on having exactly the right size load of laundry, of a front load machine. They're also a notably smaller capacity than most residential units. Honestly what I, and most of the salespeople and technicians I know own, is a relatively base model LG front load - the WM3400 can be had for like $599 right now with memorial day sales, and it's just a tank... It'll go 14 years between major service calls on average... which by some estimates might even be a little better reliability than the SQ (although total lifespan is likely somewhat shorter) but the LG costs what, like 1/3 the price... and the LG will actually have well-engineered self-balancing algorthms, tilted axis that effectively keeps water from ever leaking out of the door gasket, a truly huge capacity (their 4.5's will fit most king size comforters) and a rip-snortin fast spin that will save you a lot - literally thousands - of dollars in electricity over the life of the machine in dryer energy usage. Just keep the door ajar when you're not using it and don't use too much detergent and I promise it will *not* get moldy. Oh and avoid Samsung, Whirlpool and Maytag front loaders - they're all pretty unimpressive designs with major known weaknesses that are getting long in the tooth. The low-key "mass market" reliability king is LG's front load. Also avoid most modern HE top loaders unless you want a trendy "minimum viable product" - if you absolutely have to have a top loader, get the SQ but be prepared for lackluster cleaning and maybe look into a wood-fired dryer so you can saw down a few logs when it's time to boil all the water out after the 700 rpm spin. lol.
Got the TC5 two weeks ago. No regrets. Cleans clothes. Cleans sheets. Works ‘old school’. It’s the one to buy if you want no frills quality. Only thing really missing is a low water level setting.
Yeah it's the best washing machine to buy.....IF you can afford it that is. Long story short, every American citizen isn't fortunate enough to have 1000+ bucks in their banking accounts each week or 3000+ bucks to spare each month. It's ridiculously easy to tell somebody what's the best product to buy, but it's whole nother' story when it comes to actually HAVING the money to buy said product. Don't take this the wrong way, this isn't some guilt-tripping reply or anything like that, I'm just addressing the simple fact that some people have no choice but to buy substandard major appliances, and Contrary to popular belief, everybody that's in the low-income bracket didn't choose to be on low-income, it's a debilitating situation that they were put in due to certain circumstances unbeknownst to other people living their own troubled lives. Ok, now this has turned into a soliloquy lol, so maybe I'll just stop right there. I apologize if this comes off in a negative way, that wasn't my intentions, I was only trying to address the big elephant in the room since it seems that nobody else cares to do so. @@Enigmaculate for people that cant afford a new tc5 id recommend getting a kenmore direct drive (Used because they dont make them anymore). The kind that has the front drain pump attached directly to the motor. They pop up on Craigslist all the time for around $200 or even cheaper. They’re my favorite machines.
I have had similar experiences with a newer Maytag, so I bought a stripped-down, basic GE agitator model thinking I would outsmart the system. I've had it for 4 years. It made screaming noises from DAY 1, first the washer, then the dryer. I've had it repaired about 8 times for different reasons (they did get the screaming to stop) and my honest repairman finally said not to spend another penny on it. He told me to go get the Speed Queen TC5000, the only quality old-school washer on the market. Unless someone convinces me otherwise, I'm buying it tomorrow. I'll keep you posted!
Just curious, did you buy a new washer. If you didn't buy a Speed Queen, did you consider buying a Maytag commercial washer? That's an excellent choice too, though the Speed Queen is better, but perhaps disportionately expensive.

Yes, I understand that they're built to last and wash your clothes with the tried and true wash action, but at the same time, it's not common to have 1000+ bucks to spare for a washing machine, especially if you're on a fixed income, and that's not even including the bills and rent or mortgage payments. It's really strange how pretty much nobody seems to be addressing this. It's very easy to tell people, " _You NEED to get a Speed Queen! It's the best washing machine that money can buy!_ " Yeah, but guess what? You also _NEED_ a whole lotta money to buy one. While some of these people mean well, money doesn't just magically appear in someone's banking account or wallet whenever they're told that they NEED to buy something (for a lack of a better explanation). It's really annoying to be honest. If you pull up Speed Queen on the web, or on UA-cam, all you see are web articles and videos that's advertising Speed Queen as the best choice for a washing machine (and rightfully so), and yet, it seems NOBODY is addressing the big elephant in the room, every American citizen isn't wealthy with beefy bank accounts or has multiple credit cards with high spending limits. My two favorite washing machine and dryer brands is GE and Speed Queen (even though my family has never owned any Speed Queen washing machines, I'm just familiar with the old-school tried and true build and wash action). I used to sell speed queens. They just don't break at all. I've never seen one with a touch screen outside of a catalog. This must be some modernized 1st generation model. Id steer clear of these until they work the bugs out.
Like others have said, Alliance = Speed Queen. Have had SQ machines for years ... they are built like a tank, and actually fill enough to cover clothes with water ... none of this washing/rinsing in a puddle nonsense. While under warranty, your appliance sales dealer should have your back to assure this doesn't happen. Where is your dealer in all of this?
I have the 2020 TC5 series model, one level below yours, and ours has been great. Sounds like you got a dud, sorry to hear about that. I hope Speed Queen steps up because 3 weeks is ridiculous. I'd be pissed too!
If you open the lid it says "Alliance" that is the manufacture of the Speed Queen. I have owned my SQ for almost 10 years never had one issue mine is old school TC5 nothing electronic all manual.
What model do you have? You were not specific enough for a comprehensive review. Where did you buy it? Many stores sell appliances but do not have authorized repairmen in store. I have had my washer for 25 years. I purchase from local dealers with in store service. It makes a difference.
i'm just a bystander on this one. FYI "alliance" is just the holding company for SQ. I don't have one yet, so I'm not a fanboy (yet). But it's been a couple of years now. The reason i'm asking is that I'm guessing (hoping) that the actual SQ/alliance customer relations people kept working on it. It's sucks waiting, but what i'm hoping to hear is this was a (bearing/washer/gasket/switch problem, not a "go ask china" board problem.
I have the 2018 TR5 and had no issues... alliance makes Speed Queen so claiming that it’s aftermarket or not genuine is an inaccurate statement. I wash cloth diapers with my Speed Queen and the diapers always come out clean (poop/pee so I feel that’s as dirty as you can get!) Make sure you have a good wash routine.
I agree with that. I live in Florida too. Did you know that Badfinger's drummer Mike Gibbons lived in Clearwater, Florida until he died? The last standing member Joey Molland released an amazing album (produced by Mark Hudson) last year. It's well worth a listen if you like classic rock. Since Speed Queen raised their prices, I'm leaning towards a $900.00 (with discounts) commercial Maytag washer. I'll either get that or a used Speed Queen with mechanical knobs. Maytag raised the price of the commercial washer by $50.00 a few days ago, by the way. Of course you'll never need one though. Too bad that this cute UA-camr ended up with a lemon though.
I threw away my 2 year old LG big beautiful red washer when it failed the first year. Diagnosis? It needed a new tub bearing which meant you buy a new fukn tub, almost twice the price of the washer. LG is no longer something I look at, I don’t care what they make!
LG's front load machines are by far the most reliable washer that *won't* cost you upwards of 3 to 4 thousand dollars in excessive electricity from the lazy 700 rpm spin on those tin-can top loaders... but hey, buying a new HE top loader with a totally fake "agipeller" designed to rip off american consumers who are doing the trendy thing of trashing their excellent performing front loader because they let it get moldy.. because they're american and would absolutely NOT be told how to do anything... is just more "fake freedom American consumerism" that we've come to expect.. 😢
Sorry you're having so much problems out of your water I bought a new Speed Queen a year ago it's the classic Model with the transmission it does a good job no problems.
We bought a speedqueen less than a month and a half ago in Amite, La. It worked fantastic at first but now it stops during the wash (with water still inside) and two lights blink on the controls. The only way to reset it is to unplug it and it may do it again or complete the cycle.
Mine was doing something similar recently, stopping, blinking, beeping, etc. My husband found out some sediment in the water line causes that, and after he cleaned out the little screen, it fixed the sensor that was being triggered and it works perfectly again. Hopefully that's your issue too.
Where to begin. Speed Queen has been around since oh 1910? The current models offer an enormous number of wash cycles to clean your clothes. I own the TR7 model which has an amazing build quality and many wash options to handle any type of clothing or sheets and so on you throw at it. Interestingly, if you want to conserve water this machine can do so ensuring your clothes are completely covered by water unlike other brands which struggle to determine the correct level of water. This unit will take 5 or 6 minutes to evaluate a low level of laundry while ensuring all materials are covered by water to clean. This machine is very sophisticated. If you have men's clothes from a heavy working environment such as jeans, gloves, dirty socks, and so on, it can easily clean them if you prepare your clothes for the wash. You can't expect to simply throw a 1/2 cup of detergent, hit start and expect miracles. Filthy clothes, even with grass stains, should be pre-treated with, as example, Spray and Wash. Select a pre - soak cycle and ensure you are using a QUALITY detergent such as tide. Don't buy crap from the Dollar Store. Select a heavy duty was cycle with a warm wash and you will do just fine. I have to use Calgon Water Softner (one cap full) where I live in Florida. Don't ever use Fabric Softners in your machine. Read about this on the Internet. You can also select an additional ending rinse cycle if you feel needed for farm clothes. If you are truly washing oh, say 6 loads of filthy jeans, add 1/2 cup of Pinesol to your detergent. It helps to attack the dirt stains and don't worry, clothes will not smell! The huge benefit to the Speed Queen is that if you want a full load of water in the tub, YOU GET IT.!! Just select that option. Great dependable machine but as with all wash loads, you have to determine your needs, use the correct cycles, use good detergents, pre-tain and pre-soak as necessary! Love you Speed Queen!!
Thanks for your video. In New Zealand these cost $3000 NZD a piece, which is twice the price of anything else, but same price as Miele front loaders. I like to see reviews from unhappy customers, as it makes me rethink a decision I was about to make. Essentially I’ve come to the conclusion that getting anything fixed these days is like trying to push s#*t uphill.
I'm here looking at Speed Queen reviews because I need to replace my $2000.- Miele piece of crap that failed catastrophically in just nine years due to incredibly incompetent design. The replacement part, half the cost of the entire washer... and that's with me doing the replacement myself at the cost of an entire day of my time. Customer service? Worthless. They couldn't care less how dissatisfied I am. Miele warranty... just one year. But they'll sell you a five year extended warranty...

While it failed catastrophically at only 9 years, for probably the past 4-5 years my family's clothes have been getting rinsed in a slurry of aluminum alloy and aluminum oxide filth that encrusts the outer drum where you can't see it. You like the idea of subjecting children to having their clothes and bed sheets and bath towels contaminated with soft metals that cause neurological & developmental damage? Alzheimer's sound like fun? Besides, Miele's marketing department can't shut up about their extensive testing to ensure a 20 year design life... I don't appreciate being lied to.
@@Jerseyhighlander I’m not sure where your located, however if you perform a 60 degree wash as stipulated in the manual after every 6/7 cycles, run their dedicated machine cleaner through the machine monthly as they stipulate and don’t use any bleach products in the machine this shouldn’t happen. If you use chlorine bleach, it will happen to any front loader regardless of brand. The metals don’t appreciate corrosive chemicals. With regard to the 20 year lifespan of their machines, that is subjective to use. They are tested to 10,000 hours of use and 20,000 hours on their little giants half way between domestic and commercial. If you perform 10 loads a week and you’re doing a 2 and a half hour cycle for example, that’s 25 hours a week. The machine will be worn out at the 8/9 year mark provided the machines not been overloaded, or the wrong chemicals have been used in the machine. Their 20 years use based of 10,000 operating hours assumes a certain allowance of working time each week. The same goes for when you buy from their website a 6 month supply of detergent. If you do a lot of washing, you may exhaust that detergent supply in 3 months and someone else might have it lasting longer then 6 months because they are a light user however the period of use is calculated on a specific number of cycles per week and per year. This is why all manufacturers who sell domestic machines won’t honour a warranty if the machine is used for commercial use, because the number of operating hours and the lifespan of the parts will quickly be worn out. I’m definitely on board with you about not living in a throw away society, however if a machines been a workhorse for ten years then I would consider that a win over another machine that might be cheaper and require replacement every 3 years.
@@lukiejames That's a lengthy reply, in my view, full of excuses. I'm going to keep mine short. The machine was properly cared for and not heavily used by any standard. I don't even have chlorine bleach in my home. The machine was, designed to fail and knowingly constructed to a pitifully poor standard. A high school student would know better than to combine dissimilar metals such as this in an environment of alkaline/caustic detergents. There is no other outcome any intelligent, rational person could possibly expect except premature failure and horrifically diminished function for years prior to that early failure. Miele used to make the drum support trunnion out of stainless steel like the inner and outer drum. They started at some point working on Wall Street's model of profits at any cost, cut corners, cut costs and made this important part from cheap, die cast aluminum. I expect this of garbage Made in China, not from Miele. It's a disgrace.

@@brendame Speedqueen changed the TC5000 in 2018-2019? for 1 year {they were garbage for that year} They have since changed them back to tried and true design. The other models are still questionable at best once you get into the computer type dashboards. The current TC 5000 with mechanical dashboard is the real deal again. You're welcome. Have a great day.

I got less than a year out of my TC5 washer before it blew up. Also speed queen edits the reviews on their site which is why i waste my time posting my negative experiences on UA-cam .Good luck finding any reliable appliances out there, fellow Americans
My washer I got in 2018 (7 years ago) is also a lemon. Right now my friend is washing a load of laundry because today it started to fill and the clothes are wet and the soap is in them. And all the lights a flashlight and I don’t know what to do. We’ve done all the simple things and no luck
I was giving you the benefit of the doubt until you mentioned that you live in Florida. That explains a lot. Now I will definitely buy a Speed Queen (which has always been owned and manufactured by Alliance), but I will choose the TR3 because simple = more reliable. BTW, inoperable is one word.
My speed queen washer has an error eD44 when I try start the wash. Have to unplug and try again and push start asap for it to work, sometimes have to do this a dozen times before it catches. Under warranty but during the height of the covid pandemic it was impossible to get service from any of the authorized warranty repair businesses. Hopefully this is the only problem I have once the part is replaced as these machines are supposed to last decades. And I'm a single guy so I don't use it as often as most house holds 🤦♂️
I feel your pain. My four month old Speed Queen has error ER65. Thanks to Covid 19, I don't know when it will be fixed. I liked it better when Speed Queen was owned by Raytheon (before being acquired by Alliance).

A couple of things Alliance owns Speed Queen, Alliance is not a aftermarket company that was hired by Speed Queen. A quick start guide is supplied with all new washers by all manufactures ea GE, Whirlpool, Maytag, LG, Samsung. If you want a complete owners manual go to their website and download it, All the manufacture are cutting cost in any way they can, Blame GE for that, they started only giving quick start guides years ago, everyone else jumped on the band wagon. I'll defend speed queen to the hilt, great machine, great service and they do answer the phone after the 3rd. ring. Oh who gets all dolled up to make a complaint video? Nice dress and nice hair! Also who exaggerates every word spoken, a very dramatic story.
Im so frustrated with my Speeq Queen too and found your video searching how to fix it. Have had to have serviced twice in 6 months since I got it. Will start wash then stop 30 seconds later with water and soap and the links just blink continuously. Also had a 20 year old washer that worked fine. They think its a sensor because our water has debris from well water. So I have to have it replaced every month? So frustrating! Thought this was going to be a great machine and mine only has a 3 year warranty.
Amazes me how the average American Karen (or Ken) can get through life being so unaware of their immediate surroundings... having called for warranty service you'd think that while reading the serial number on the label under the lid of the washer, she'd have noticed the bold letters *"Manufactured by Alliance Laundry Systems"* but I guess not. 😂
Alliance is the company that owns Speed Queen. I have a 2017 Speed Queen which was the last year they made a really good old fashioned style washer that will last for decades.
I feel your pain. I wished I had taken my mid 90s Kenmore washer and dryer (whirlpool) with me instead of selling them with the house. I have a Maytag set now and the washer over the last 7 years has left my clothes soaking wet at the end of the wash cycle countless times! This time though I can't get the washer to correct the cycles and reset. I've hated this washer since day one! No way I'll ever buy a Maytag ever again. I'm thinking about a Speed Queen now and this is what lead me to your video. Sadly just about every washer I look at has nightmare reviews. Most of the bad reviews are do to the new restrictions placed on manufactures by the government. Things like the washers don't fill up enough, there are no water level settings, no warm or hot water during rinsing, the water doesn't get hot enough and so on. I long for the days when these things worked and sucked enough energy to power a small country and used enough water to fill an Olympic sized pool! Those were the days! Now these things just aggravate the crap out of you and break down in a quarter amount of the time and clean out your bank account better then they clean clothes!
Do your research, read , read, read and watch videos online about speed queen. They are the best made with the best warranty ( 3,5 and 7 years ) Speed Queen washers DO fill to the top and the TC5 model is one of the best. All are made in the USA and Speed Queen says they are tested to do 8 loads a week or 10,000 plus total for a about 25 years as they estimate. Look at laundry mats, they all have speed queen's and the home models are build with the same quality as they are "commercial heavy duty" Hope one review will not stop you from considering speed queen, I just purchased the TC5 this week as my washer died after 19 years.

Alliance laundry systems, LLC. is the company that owns and manufactures Speed Queen washers & dryers. Thats why the parts box you were sent says Alliance. It is not a after market company.
I just purchased the TR5003 and it would not even fill! My Kenmore died after 18 years. My repair man said Speed Queen. We have spent 2 and a half days getting it in to our little house through the garage and then to the little utility room to have it not even run! We have never paid this much for a washer machine and I’m upset 😠! It’s the lid latch that stays latched and the Electrical board that’s sending it wrong messages to the latch lid. I’m trying to go camping, trying to get back for my family Reunion the flowing weekend and no washer!
I am a firm believer in owning a conventional washer, instead of that digital crap that everyone but Speed Queen makes and sells. The only complaint I would have is that my conventional (2020 model) Speed Queen has what seems to be a shorter wash cycle than I'm used to. Other than that, my conventional Speed Queen performs perfectly.
Seems like all you want to do is complain about it, you think you know everything about the different wash cycles and you didn’t want the book, then the company replaces parts with factory ones and you call them aftermarket, maybe you need to do some research first before you by. I’ve had a lot of different washers and dryer’s including Maytag, GE, Whirlpool, top loaders and front loaders, none of them are good quality anymore, none of them would put enough water in the tub to even float the clothes, I just replaced them with a 2021 Speed Queen set which does fill the tub with water. Almost all this is the government’s fault for putting regulations on everything.
No, I tried just about every combination on my TR7 (except wool and athletic and maybe "eco Delicate") and even on Super soiled, soak and extra rinse, max soil it failed to clean my jeans.

A whirlpool (Kenmore, Kirkland, etc.) made between 1985 - 2010 are good. Get the best top-load model without electronic controls. They will last forever. If something does break they are quick and cheap to fix (transmission (used) $45, new clutch & brake $32...). I would tear into an Amana and marvel at just how bad they were, same for the Kitchen Aide. The worst is GE, which I referred to as "Garbage Engineering". Sadly it is now not possible to buy a new washer. They are usually junk, and the price is high. We have Speed Queen at home BUT I know how to find the right models and years. I prefer the Whirlpool because a good used S.Q. between 1978 - 2017 is hard to find, and a lot of them are the wrong model or just worn-out.
@@maxwellspeedwell2585 All KitchenAid topload washers *are* Whirlpool direct-drive machines. KitchenAid didn't offer laundry products until 1987, after Whirlpool bought the company in 1986. There also was a KitchenAid frontloader pair called the Ensemble which was a rebadged Whirlpool Duet. KitchenAid laundry products were discontinued after Whirlpool bought Maytag in 2006 and Maytag was positioned as the premium laundry brand. The Ensemble pair was relabeled as the Maytag Epic frontloader set at that time.
AND. AND. AND, You bought the wrong model! You wanted the Tc 5. Because it's a traditional washing machine that really gets close. Cleassuming think that you took the time to read the instruction manual on that. You're following the instructions that the manufacturer wrote. AND, That way you can be sure that you're using the equipment properly..........
Alliance owns Speed Queen from what I’ve researched. Just another person not knowing what they are talking about and making bad reviews. I’ve never owned a Speed Queen but know what you’re saying before you say it. She was worried about zip ties and splicing wires. Obviously no clue what she is talking about. 🤣😂
The TR series washers simply do not clean clothes properly. Get the old style reintroduced TC5003 model. Hindsight is a wonderful thing, what were Speed King thinking going to the TR agitation system. As for alliance they are the parent company that own Speed King, so it's not some subsidiary they make commercial washers.
People need to learn how to shop for appliances. If you didn't buy the Speed Queen "classic" with a transmission, then the performance will be mediocre just like all the top loads today that just slosh the clothes around.
Yep, i started my research about 6 months ago, and the first thing I learned was, “you don’t want a TR model” That was Speed Queens attempt at an “eco washer” and it was a fail….. Speed Queen customers buy Speed Queens BECAUSE they’re not built like “eco washers”….. wrong crowd there, Speed Queen… wrong crowd lol
Speed Queen will clean clothes better than any front loader hands down. No comparison when it comes to clean clothes! Clean clothes in your LG front loader LOL. You must like wearing clothes with soap that never gets rinsed out completely. (all front loaders leave soap in the clothing and have never cleaned like agitating top loaders) If you buy from reputable dealers you should have no problems getting warranty repairs. Facts Matter
I bought a TR5 in 2020, and the water mixing valve has died already twice. Repair has been to my house twice in less than one year (during Covid) and I've been waiting for him to return for 2 weeks now with another valve (which he did not have a part for when he arrived)... kinda annoying for sure...
Just a comment regarding your complaint on this model speed queen, after watching your homemade video it sounds like a frustrated high maintenance wife, not consulting with a expert appliance person before purchasing a washer and dryer of any kind, and now customer get to a point of pointing fingers of others then your self, first of all washers and dryers are not made the same as 15, 20, 30, 40 years ago....reality check.. just like automobiles they don’t make them like they used to.... but everyone is looking for the best looking Appliances with all the bells and whistles just like the cars, well the problem is that can be more efficient but they don’t last as the older mechanical products...speed queen brand is own by alliance co. In Wisconsin.. the same circumstance are with all new models, regardless the brand.. so next time y’all look into purchasing a new appliance, think twice , look for expert repair technician for suggestions.. don’t go by the reviews cus most of the time reviews are made too early into the using the product..and keep your old appliance for back up ,don’t be like heather..y’all be regrading it... just saying...🐩

The same thing happened with my Frigidaire range. Total lemon. They kept sending out repairmen who'd work on it, but never fix it. The oven never got up to temp - EVER. I'd have to set it at 375 to maybe get 300 and watch it like a hawk. But the scary part is that half the time we'd use the gas burners, our carbon monoxide alarm would go off. Every meal we'd have a broom on the ready to turn the alarm off and would be waiting to run around opening the windows and doors. Sometimes we'd get lucky, sometimes not. This went on for two years, then the warrantee ran out. We paid for three repairmen to come out and they all failed. We ended up spending more money on three years of hell than the range originally cost. Finally replaced it with a zline and that range is a DREAM. Sadly, our dog is broken and she still runs in shivering terror every time someone goes to fry an egg. smh The cocky cat has finally recovered and now understands that the alarm won't shriek when we're cooking.
Alliance is not an aftermarket part, Alliance is the parent company of speed queen. I was a Speed Queen Dealer and people drop their units going into basements and expect the appliance to work properly.
What model do you have? Did you buy it at a big box store? I bought mine from a local dealer with service technicians. Many stores sell but farm out the service to inadequate technicians. Alliance is Speed Queen.
Purchased a TR7 on 9/26/20. Had it installed on 9/28/20. Now, 9/30/20, error code ED23 and washer will not work. I feel your pain. $1200 worth of junk at this point.
My four month TR7 has error code ER65. I think SQ should rethink where they are sourcing their electronics from and/or start doing 100% QC on their TR7 washers before selling them.
@Albert Carello The error ended up being a bad relay on a circuit board. It was covered by warranty, but the repair tech tried to say the error was the result of bad power from the electric company. So to keep everyone happy, all the appliances are now on surge protectors.
I don't have a Speed Queen but a few months ago I became interested in buying one when my 17 year old Maytag washer started leaking water. I called their toll free number to inquire where I could buy one in my area and if I needed it serviced for whatever reason, who in my area would service it. I gave her my number but not before she took my email address first and I never heard from her again. All I got was ads and more ads to buy one. Very bad service in my opinion though I'm sure they make good washing machines. Fixed my Maytag myself and still using it.
Love when people leave reviews and are uneducated on the products. “So they keep sending me parts from some company called Alliance. They can’t even provide their own parts” as you have been told 1000 times, you’re a bit ignorant. You also state that the company is “rude” when you call them.. you also claim you are the “new agitator” hmmmm maybe we found the reason they are “rude”. Lastly, maybe next time, read reviews BEFORE buying something not AFTER. The main complaint on these models is they don’t clean as well as the TC series. I found this out in the first 10 minutes of starting my search for the Speed Queen model that would be best for our family.
I wish I had seen this before I bought a washer, I have had mine for 2 months, now it wont start, hold time when you call is 45 min, I have messaged them, I have reached out to the distributor here in PR and they don't service on this side of the Island, I wish I had just gone to Costco and bought one, would have cost under 1k and if I had a problem I could have taken it back. The TC5 model is the one you want, old school agitation at its best. The other more expensive models use a one piece tub and agitator that just swish clothes around, they don't clean as well.
All the research I've done and speed queen comes out as the top machine, and the TC5 looks to be the very best. I just purchased one this week, its on backorder so I may have to wait 3-6 weeks but I can't wait to crank it up !! Love the "old school" design, if it ain't broken, don't change it !
The old Whirlpools are great. Family of 5 lots of towels went 20 years. New SQ TR top loaders are not good. Get Maytag Commercial or SQ TC5 retro as mentioned.
Bought a brand new Speed Queen washer TC5000 May 23, 2020 in Rockland County, NY based on all the nice reviews posted.. It's already giving me problems. The start/pause button does not work unles you unplug/plug the machine. Today, June 2, 2020 the spin cycle started without me choosing the washing cycle. The mechanic is coming in tomorrow. I wish I bought a Maytag Commercial. Buyer be aware.

First off - Alliance IS Speed Queen. Second - IN A NUTSHELL - You Apparently didn't do your research because you opted for FANCY versus CLEAN. You Bought the WRONG MODEL of Speed Queen washing machine. Manufacturers have been forced to comply with the Good Old Government Regulations and THUS - 99% of your washing machines on the market NOW SUCK. Blame YOUR GOVERNMENT Not the Manufacturers whose hands are most often TIED. Speed Queen however was able to make a Machine that complies and STILL CLEANS Clothes WELL. You should have bought the TC-Series Washing Machine and You would have CLEAN CLOTHES! Speed Queen is STILL THE BEST Machine on the Market and offers the BEST WARRANTY. I've made the mistake of buying FANCY and FANCY doesn't mean CLEAN.

I feel they are the very best made with the best warranty and yes, you do have to know the difference in the models. I think she got the TR5 model or TR7 ? I just purchased the TC5 "classic clean" as I feel the more aggressive agitator is the way to go and have read nothing but rave reviews of its performance.
I have a tc5. Unless than 1 year soap suds coming out of the standpipe. Almost all parts replaced on a brand new washer. Contacted SQ several times with pictures and videos. Their solution is one ignore me,2. Use vinegar as a clean out and then for several washes. They said it’s not the washer! Ok did that. Still having the same issue. I have never had an issue with suds coming out of a standpipe ever with other washers. I have seen other videos and read comments about others having the same issue. Also the BBB website really tells the story about what people are dealing with. Wish I had gone there first because I never would have spent the money on this machine.
You used a lower quality washer machine for 17 years was it? But a higher quality comercial one breaks on you? I find that hard to believe unless you got flawed one or you didnt read manual and overworked it or damaged it somehow alot of people seem to overload they dont see warning in the manuals for things to do or not do i guessing same happened here you put like 4 king size comforters in it jammed motor and wondered why or how it broke.
Bought most basic Speed Queen with manual dials and mechanical "timer" just like old school. Exactly what I wanted. None of this High Efficiency BS. Purchased from locally owned old school mom and pop appliance store here in Tucson. Had small issue and they took care of me right away. I think they are price controlled and dealers in Phoenix had exact same price. So, I learned much better to go with mom and pop even if you have to pay a little more for peace of mind... Also, read warranty carefully. The entire machine is NOT covered for 10 years in my case just the transmission. Also, after 3 years only cover specific parts, no labor. I learned that lesson as well. If one of the new electronic control machines blows a control board, that is expensive.....stick with the cheap model manual controls...

@@GSPirosaki Yeah, TR series. Very quiet but I'll be honest it doesn't get your clothes as clean as the independent agitator model washers. I never had issues with under arm staining in my Tee shirts until we bought this machine. I now have to use bleach with white tees and spray n wash pretreatment for color tee's. I wish we bought the TC series with the independent agitator.

This video helps in no way. Half the comments praise the SQ, the other half condemn it. The only thing I got out of it is you are to buy a new SQ, buy the TC5000 model and make sure it was manufactured 2020 or above.
Alliance is speed queen , alliance makes commercial units and speed queen is their residential model. Please do some research before you give a negative review because it make your rant seem more like nothing could make you satisfied. Ignored!
There is ALWAYS a percentage of appliances that break. You could get the absolutely best, and there is still a chance. But just because it breaks on YOU, doesn't meant that the product in general is bad. It's a wide problem, if MANY people have problems. And the Speed Queens, and you can ask any technician / repair person, are NOT the ones that break more. They break the LEAST. Also, and this probably messed up service.... pandemic times. Thank goodness we're past that now.

I got the most basic Speed Queen washer dryer in 2015, and have had no problems at all. It's best to get the most simple one you can get - mechanical controls, little or no electronics, etc. SIMPLE means less to break.

@John Jacob How so? All new SQ machines on their website use electronic control boards even the ones that have knobs which in reality are are electronic encoders. The last mechanical model was in 2015 from what I've heard

Stop contacting Alliance, deal directly with your dealer. They should be able to take care of you. Speed Queen is a division Alliance.
The dealer can fix an actual broken or malfunctioning part, but she's kinda doing the right thing by telling the manufacturer that the *design* of the machine is such that it just doesn't clean very well - because it doesn't. Every test I've seen of the TR (and even most of the tests of the TC believe it or not!) show that they just... don't clean very well. But what all these Americans dont realize now that they're all doing the trendy thing lately of fetishizing these Speed Queen washers is that they're designed for commercial use - commercial meaning apartments, dorms, etc... places where the actual cleaning performance is absolutely not a concern, the only concern of the purchasing organization is expected lifespan and TCO. If you look at commercial operations where *actually cleaning well* is a requirment - like hotels, hospitals, and other institutions, you'll notice that they *only* use front load machines. Terrible performing and energy hogging Speed Queen top loaders are like Stanley cups - people are suddenly *convinced* they need one and that it will make their life complete, but the truth is they're not very nice machines to live with and cost *literally thousands* of extra dollars over the life of the machine to run!

@@deidrabay I own plenty of washers but I don't own a Speed Queen front load, so I can't speak personally to their performance or reliability... however I've had a few customers with them and talked about them... the general consensus seems to be similar to the top load models in that they're designed first and foremost for multi-family settings - relatively few "creature comforts" and slow spin speed (dryer energy costs in commercial applications are generally of zero importance lol), but with the better cleaning that's less dependant on having exactly the right size load of laundry, of a front load machine. They're also a notably smaller capacity than most residential units. Honestly what I, and most of the salespeople and technicians I know own, is a relatively base model LG front load - the WM3400 can be had for like $599 right now with memorial day sales, and it's just a tank... It'll go 14 years between major service calls on average... which by some estimates might even be a little better reliability than the SQ (although total lifespan is likely somewhat shorter) but the LG costs what, like 1/3 the price... and the LG will actually have well-engineered self-balancing algorthms, tilted axis that effectively keeps water from ever leaking out of the door gasket, a truly huge capacity (their 4.5's will fit most king size comforters) and a rip-snortin fast spin that will save you a lot - literally thousands - of dollars in electricity over the life of the machine in dryer energy usage. Just keep the door ajar when you're not using it and don't use too much detergent and I promise it will *not* get moldy. Oh and avoid Samsung, Whirlpool and Maytag front loaders - they're all pretty unimpressive designs with major known weaknesses that are getting long in the tooth. The low-key "mass market" reliability king is LG's front load. Also avoid most modern HE top loaders unless you want a trendy "minimum viable product" - if you absolutely have to have a top loader, get the SQ but be prepared for lackluster cleaning and maybe look into a wood-fired dryer so you can saw down a few logs when it's time to boil all the water out after the 700 rpm spin. lol.

Got the TC5 two weeks ago. No regrets. Cleans clothes. Cleans sheets. Works ‘old school’. It’s the one to buy if you want no frills quality. Only thing really missing is a low water level setting.
Yeah it's the best washing machine to buy.....IF you can afford it that is. Long story short, every American citizen isn't fortunate enough to have 1000+ bucks in their banking accounts each week or 3000+ bucks to spare each month. It's ridiculously easy to tell somebody what's the best product to buy, but it's whole nother' story when it comes to actually HAVING the money to buy said product.
Don't take this the wrong way, this isn't some guilt-tripping reply or anything like that, I'm just addressing the simple fact that some people have no choice but to buy substandard major appliances, and Contrary to popular belief, everybody that's in the low-income bracket didn't choose to be on low-income, it's a debilitating situation that they were put in due to certain circumstances unbeknownst to other people living their own troubled lives.

@@Enigmaculate for people that cant afford a new tc5 id recommend getting a kenmore direct drive (Used because they dont make them anymore). The kind that has the front drain pump attached directly to the motor. They pop up on Craigslist all the time for around $200 or even cheaper. They’re my favorite machines.

I have had similar experiences with a newer Maytag, so I bought a stripped-down, basic GE agitator model thinking I would outsmart the system. I've had it for 4 years. It made screaming noises from DAY 1, first the washer, then the dryer. I've had it repaired about 8 times for different reasons (they did get the screaming to stop) and my honest repairman finally said not to spend another penny on it. He told me to go get the Speed Queen TC5000, the only quality old-school washer on the market. Unless someone convinces me otherwise, I'm buying it tomorrow. I'll keep you posted!

Yes, I understand that they're built to last and wash your clothes with the tried and true wash action, but at the same time, it's not common to have 1000+ bucks to spare for a washing machine, especially if you're on a fixed income, and that's not even including the bills and rent or mortgage payments.
It's really strange how pretty much nobody seems to be addressing this. It's very easy to tell people, " _You NEED to get a Speed Queen! It's the best washing machine that money can buy!_ " Yeah, but guess what? You also _NEED_ a whole lotta money to buy one. While some of these people mean well, money doesn't just magically appear in someone's banking account or wallet whenever they're told that they NEED to buy something (for a lack of a better explanation).
It's really annoying to be honest. If you pull up Speed Queen on the web, or on UA-cam, all you see are web articles and videos that's advertising Speed Queen as the best choice for a washing machine (and rightfully so), and yet, it seems NOBODY is addressing the big elephant in the room, every American citizen isn't wealthy with beefy bank accounts or has multiple credit cards with high spending limits. My two favorite washing machine and dryer brands is GE and Speed Queen (even though my family has never owned any Speed Queen washing machines, I'm just familiar with the old-school tried and true build and wash action).

This is obviously a fluke ... Speed Queen machines will last decades, and they have one of the best warranties in the business.

I used to sell speed queens. They just don't break at all. I've never seen one with a touch screen outside of a catalog. This must be some modernized 1st generation model. Id steer clear of these until they work the bugs out.
Like others have said, Alliance = Speed Queen. Have had SQ machines for years ... they are built like a tank, and actually fill enough to cover clothes with water ... none of this washing/rinsing in a puddle nonsense. While under warranty, your appliance sales dealer should have your back to assure this doesn't happen. Where is your dealer in all of this?
Try getting the TC5 it's the old school classic speed queen washer just like the one from 2017
You can't wash a king-sized comforter in the TC5 though.

If you open the lid it says "Alliance" that is the manufacture of the Speed Queen. I have owned my SQ for almost 10 years never had one issue mine is old school TC5 nothing electronic all manual.
What model do you have? You were not specific enough for a comprehensive review. Where did you buy it? Many stores sell appliances but do not have authorized repairmen in store. I have had my washer for 25 years. I purchase from local dealers with in store service. It makes a difference.
i'm just a bystander on this one. FYI "alliance" is just the holding company for SQ. I don't have one yet, so I'm not a fanboy (yet). But it's been a couple of years now. The reason i'm asking is that I'm guessing (hoping) that the actual SQ/alliance customer relations people kept working on it. It's sucks waiting, but what i'm hoping to hear is this was a (bearing/washer/gasket/switch problem, not a "go ask china" board problem.

I have the 2018 TR5 and had no issues... alliance makes Speed Queen so claiming that it’s aftermarket or not genuine is an inaccurate statement. I wash cloth diapers with my Speed Queen and the diapers always come out clean (poop/pee so I feel that’s as dirty as you can get!) Make sure you have a good wash routine.
I got the TC5 and it is 10x better than the TC3 old school is always better. I hope you got everything worked out. You are lovely.
I agree with that. I live in Florida too. Did you know that Badfinger's drummer Mike Gibbons lived in Clearwater, Florida until he died? The last standing member Joey Molland released an amazing album (produced by Mark Hudson) last year. It's well worth a listen if you like classic rock.
Since Speed Queen raised their prices, I'm leaning towards a $900.00 (with discounts) commercial Maytag washer. I'll either get that or a used Speed Queen with mechanical knobs. Maytag raised the price of the commercial washer by $50.00 a few days ago, by the way. Of course you'll never need one though. Too bad that this cute UA-camr ended up with a lemon though.

I threw away my 2 year old LG big beautiful red washer when it failed the first year. Diagnosis? It needed a new tub bearing which meant you buy a new fukn tub, almost twice the price of the washer. LG is no longer something I look at, I don’t care what they make!
LG's front load machines are by far the most reliable washer that *won't* cost you upwards of 3 to 4 thousand dollars in excessive electricity from the lazy 700 rpm spin on those tin-can top loaders... but hey, buying a new HE top loader with a totally fake "agipeller" designed to rip off american consumers who are doing the trendy thing of trashing their excellent performing front loader because they let it get moldy.. because they're american and would absolutely NOT be told how to do anything... is just more "fake freedom American consumerism" that we've come to expect.. 😢
Sorry you're having so much problems out of your water I bought a new Speed Queen a year ago it's the classic Model with the transmission it does a good job no problems.
Had to be an appliance dealer, SQ does not deal with any big box stores.
It must be a true lemon. If she had a GE front loader that lasted over 16 years, she definitely knows how to baby a washer.
We bought a speedqueen less than a month and a half ago in Amite, La. It worked fantastic at first but now it stops during the wash (with water still inside) and two lights blink on the controls. The only way to reset it is to unplug it and it may do it again or complete the cycle.
Mine was doing something similar recently, stopping, blinking, beeping, etc.
My husband found out some sediment in the water line causes that, and after he cleaned out the little screen, it fixed the sensor that was being triggered and it works perfectly again.
Hopefully that's your issue too.
Where to begin. Speed Queen has been around since oh 1910? The current models offer an enormous number of wash cycles to clean your clothes. I own the TR7 model which has an amazing build quality and many wash options to handle any type of clothing or sheets and so on you throw at it. Interestingly, if you want to conserve water this machine can do so ensuring your clothes are completely covered by water unlike other brands which struggle to determine the correct level of water. This unit will take 5 or 6 minutes to evaluate a low level of laundry while ensuring all materials are covered by water to clean. This machine is very sophisticated. If you have men's clothes from a heavy working environment such as jeans, gloves, dirty socks, and so on, it can easily clean them if you prepare your clothes for the wash. You can't expect to simply throw a 1/2 cup of detergent, hit start and expect miracles. Filthy clothes, even with grass stains, should be pre-treated with, as example, Spray and Wash. Select a pre - soak cycle and ensure you are using a QUALITY detergent such as tide. Don't buy crap from the Dollar Store. Select a heavy duty was cycle with a warm wash and you will do just fine. I have to use Calgon Water Softner (one cap full) where I live in Florida. Don't ever use Fabric Softners in your machine. Read about this on the Internet. You can also select an additional ending rinse cycle if you feel needed for farm clothes. If you are truly washing oh, say 6 loads of filthy jeans, add 1/2 cup of Pinesol to your detergent. It helps to attack the dirt stains and don't worry, clothes will not smell! The huge benefit to the Speed Queen is that if you want a full load of water in the tub, YOU GET IT.!! Just select that option. Great dependable machine but as with all wash loads, you have to determine your needs, use the correct cycles, use good detergents, pre-tain and pre-soak as necessary! Love you Speed Queen!!
My 2012 Speed Queen washer is still going strong with no problems ever. I have heard the new design stinks. Too bad they messed up a good thing.
Thanks for your video. In New Zealand these cost $3000 NZD a piece, which is twice the price of anything else, but same price as Miele front loaders. I like to see reviews from unhappy customers, as it makes me rethink a decision I was about to make. Essentially I’ve come to the conclusion that getting anything fixed these days is like trying to push s#*t uphill.
I'm here looking at Speed Queen reviews because I need to replace my $2000.- Miele piece of crap that failed catastrophically in just nine years due to incredibly incompetent design. The replacement part, half the cost of the entire washer... and that's with me doing the replacement myself at the cost of an entire day of my time. Customer service? Worthless. They couldn't care less how dissatisfied I am. Miele warranty... just one year. But they'll sell you a five year extended warranty...

@@lukiejames Some people are happy to be part of the throw it away society. I never will be. The years it lasted is only a small piece of the pie here though. While it failed catastrophically at only 9 years, for probably the past 4-5 years my family's clothes have been getting rinsed in a slurry of aluminum alloy and aluminum oxide filth that encrusts the outer drum where you can't see it.
You like the idea of subjecting children to having their clothes and bed sheets and bath towels contaminated with soft metals that cause neurological & developmental damage? Alzheimer's sound like fun?
Besides, Miele's marketing department can't shut up about their extensive testing to ensure a 20 year design life... I don't appreciate being lied to.
@@Jerseyhighlander I’m not sure where your located, however if you perform a 60 degree wash as stipulated in the manual after every 6/7 cycles, run their dedicated machine cleaner through the machine monthly as they stipulate and don’t use any bleach products in the machine this shouldn’t happen. If you use chlorine bleach, it will happen to any front loader regardless of brand. The metals don’t appreciate corrosive chemicals.
With regard to the 20 year lifespan of their machines, that is subjective to use. They are tested to 10,000 hours of use and 20,000 hours on their little giants half way between domestic and commercial. If you perform 10 loads a week and you’re doing a 2 and a half hour cycle for example, that’s 25 hours a week. The machine will be worn out at the 8/9 year mark provided the machines not been overloaded, or the wrong chemicals have been used in the machine. Their 20 years use based of 10,000 operating hours assumes a certain allowance of working time each week.
The same goes for when you buy from their website a 6 month supply of detergent. If you do a lot of washing, you may exhaust that detergent supply in 3 months and someone else might have it lasting longer then 6 months because they are a light user however the period of use is calculated on a specific number of cycles per week and per year.
This is why all manufacturers who sell domestic machines won’t honour a warranty if the machine is used for commercial use, because the number of operating hours and the lifespan of the parts will quickly be worn out.
I’m definitely on board with you about not living in a throw away society, however if a machines been a workhorse for ten years then I would consider that a win over another machine that might be cheaper and require replacement every 3 years.
@@lukiejames That's a lengthy reply, in my view, full of excuses. I'm going to keep mine short. The machine was properly cared for and not heavily used by any standard. I don't even have chlorine bleach in my home. The machine was, designed to fail and knowingly constructed to a pitifully poor standard.
A high school student would know better than to combine dissimilar metals such as this in an environment of alkaline/caustic detergents. There is no other outcome any intelligent, rational person could possibly expect except premature failure and horrifically diminished function for years prior to that early failure.
Miele used to make the drum support trunnion out of stainless steel like the inner and outer drum. They started at some point working on Wall Street's model of profits at any cost, cut corners, cut costs and made this important part from cheap, die cast aluminum.
I expect this of garbage Made in China, not from Miele. It's a disgrace.

@@brendame Speedqueen changed the TC5000 in 2018-2019? for 1 year {they were garbage for that year} They have since changed them back to tried and true design. The other models are still questionable at best once you get into the computer type dashboards.

My washer I got in 2018 (7 years ago) is also a lemon. Right now my friend is washing a load of laundry because today it started to fill and the clothes are wet and the soap is in them. And all the lights a flashlight and I don’t know what to do. We’ve done all the simple things and no luck
I was giving you the benefit of the doubt until you mentioned that you live in Florida. That explains a lot. Now I will definitely buy a Speed Queen (which has always been owned and manufactured by Alliance), but I will choose the TR3 because simple = more reliable. BTW, inoperable is one word.
My speed queen washer has an error eD44 when I try start the wash. Have to unplug and try again and push start asap for it to work, sometimes have to do this a dozen times before it catches. Under warranty but during the height of the covid pandemic it was impossible to get service from any of the authorized warranty repair businesses. Hopefully this is the only problem I have once the part is replaced as these machines are supposed to last decades. And I'm a single guy so I don't use it as often as most house holds 🤦♂️
I feel your pain. My four month old Speed Queen has error ER65. Thanks to Covid 19, I don't know when it will be fixed. I liked it better when Speed Queen was owned by Raytheon (before being acquired by Alliance).
@@dogmom6772 I finally got it fixed a few days ago! I really should do a wash to be sure all is good. The contractor did a test, maybe a soak not sure. Hopefully you can get yours fixed soon!
A couple of things Alliance owns Speed Queen, Alliance is not a aftermarket company that was hired by Speed Queen. A quick start guide is supplied with all new washers by all manufactures ea GE, Whirlpool, Maytag, LG, Samsung. If you want a complete owners manual go to their website and download it, All the manufacture are cutting cost in any way they can, Blame GE for that, they started only giving quick start guides years ago, everyone else jumped on the band wagon. I'll defend speed queen to the hilt, great machine, great service and they do answer the phone after the 3rd. ring.

Im so frustrated with my Speeq Queen too and found your video searching how to fix it. Have had to have serviced twice in 6 months since I got it. Will start wash then stop 30 seconds later with water and soap and the links just blink continuously. Also had a 20 year old washer that worked fine. They think its a sensor because our water has debris from well water. So I have to have it replaced every month? So frustrating! Thought this was going to be a great machine and mine only has a 3 year warranty.

Alliance is the company that owns Speed Queen. I have a 2017 Speed Queen which was the last year they made a really good old fashioned style washer that will last for decades.
I feel your pain. I wished I had taken my mid 90s Kenmore washer and dryer (whirlpool) with me instead of selling them with the house. I have a Maytag set now and the washer over the last 7 years has left my clothes soaking wet at the end of the wash cycle countless times! This time though I can't get the washer to correct the cycles and reset. I've hated this washer since day one! No way I'll ever buy a Maytag ever again. I'm thinking about a Speed Queen now and this is what lead me to your video. Sadly just about every washer I look at has nightmare reviews. Most of the bad reviews are do to the new restrictions placed on manufactures by the government. Things like the washers don't fill up enough, there are no water level settings, no warm or hot water during rinsing, the water doesn't get hot enough and so on. I long for the days when these things worked and sucked enough energy to power a small country and used enough water to fill an Olympic sized pool! Those were the days! Now these things just aggravate the crap out of you and break down in a quarter amount of the time and clean out your bank account better then they clean clothes!
Do your research, read , read, read and watch videos online about speed queen. They are the best made with the best warranty ( 3,5 and 7 years ) Speed Queen washers DO fill to the top and the TC5 model is one of the best. All are made in the USA and Speed Queen says they are tested to do 8 loads a week or 10,000 plus total for a about 25 years as they estimate. Look at laundry mats, they all have speed queen's and the home models are build with the same quality as they are "commercial heavy duty" Hope one review will not stop you from considering speed queen, I just purchased the TC5 this week as my washer died after 19 years.

I just purchased the TR5003 and it would not even fill! My Kenmore died after 18 years. My repair man said Speed Queen. We have spent 2 and a half days getting it in to our little house through the garage and then to the little utility room to have it not even run! We have never paid this much for a washer machine and I’m upset 😠! It’s the lid latch that stays latched and the Electrical board that’s sending it wrong messages to the latch lid. I’m trying to go camping, trying to get back for my family Reunion the flowing weekend and no washer!
I am a firm believer in owning a conventional washer, instead of that digital crap that everyone but Speed Queen makes and sells. The only complaint I would have is that my conventional (2020 model) Speed Queen has what seems to be a shorter wash cycle than I'm used to. Other than that, my conventional Speed Queen performs perfectly.

Seems like all you want to do is complain about it, you think you know everything about the different wash cycles and you didn’t want the book, then the company replaces parts with factory ones and you call them aftermarket, maybe you need to do some research first before you by. I’ve had a lot of different washers and dryer’s including Maytag, GE, Whirlpool, top loaders and front loaders, none of them are good quality anymore, none of them would put enough water in the tub to even float the clothes, I just replaced them with a 2021 Speed Queen set which does fill the tub with water. Almost all this is the government’s fault for putting regulations on everything.

No, I tried just about every combination on my TR7 (except wool and athletic and maybe "eco Delicate") and even on Super soiled, soak and extra rinse, max soil it failed to clean my jeans.

A whirlpool (Kenmore, Kirkland, etc.) made between 1985 - 2010 are good. Get the best top-load model without electronic controls. They will last forever. If something does break they are quick and cheap to fix (transmission (used) $45, new clutch & brake $32...). I would tear into an Amana and marvel at just how bad they were, same for the Kitchen Aide. The worst is GE, which I referred to as "Garbage Engineering". Sadly it is now not possible to buy a new washer. They are usually junk, and the price is high. We have Speed Queen at home BUT I know how to find the right models and years. I prefer the Whirlpool because a good used S.Q. between 1978 - 2017 is hard to find, and a lot of them are the wrong model or just worn-out.

@@maxwellspeedwell2585 All KitchenAid topload washers *are* Whirlpool direct-drive machines. KitchenAid didn't offer laundry products until 1987, after Whirlpool bought the company in 1986. There also was a KitchenAid frontloader pair called the Ensemble which was a rebadged Whirlpool Duet. KitchenAid laundry products were discontinued after Whirlpool bought Maytag in 2006 and Maytag was positioned as the premium laundry brand. The Ensemble pair was relabeled as the Maytag Epic frontloader set at that time.
AND. AND. AND, You bought the wrong model! You wanted the Tc 5. Because it's a traditional washing machine that really gets close. Cleassuming think that you took the time to read the instruction manual on that. You're following the instructions that the manufacturer wrote. AND, That way you can be sure that you're using the equipment properly..........

I’ve never owned a Speed Queen but know what you’re saying before you say it. She was worried about zip ties and splicing wires. Obviously no clue what she is talking about. 🤣😂

The TR series washers simply do not clean clothes properly. Get the old style reintroduced TC5003 model. Hindsight is a wonderful thing, what were Speed King thinking going to the TR agitation system. As for alliance they are the parent company that own Speed King, so it's not some subsidiary they make commercial washers.

Speed Queen will clean clothes better than any front loader hands down. No comparison when it comes to clean clothes! Clean clothes in your LG front loader LOL. You must like wearing clothes with soap that never gets rinsed out completely. (all front loaders leave soap in the clothing and have never cleaned like agitating top loaders) If you buy from reputable dealers you should have no problems getting warranty repairs. Facts Matter
I bought a TR5 in 2020, and the water mixing valve has died already twice. Repair has been to my house twice in less than one year (during Covid) and I've been waiting for him to return for 2 weeks now with another valve (which he did not have a part for when he arrived)... kinda annoying for sure...
Just a comment regarding your complaint on this model speed queen, after watching your homemade video it sounds like a frustrated high maintenance wife, not consulting with a expert appliance person before purchasing a washer and dryer of any kind, and now customer get to a point of pointing fingers of others then your self, first of all washers and dryers are not made the same as 15, 20, 30, 40 years ago....reality check.. just like automobiles they don’t make them like they used to.... but everyone is looking for the best looking Appliances with all the bells and whistles just like the cars, well the problem is that can be more efficient but they don’t last as the older mechanical products...speed queen brand is own by alliance co. In Wisconsin.. the same circumstance are with all new models, regardless the brand.. so next time y’all look into purchasing a new appliance, think twice , look for expert repair technician for suggestions.. don’t go by the reviews cus most of the time reviews are made too early into the using the product..and keep your old appliance for back up ,don’t be like heather..y’all be regrading it... just saying...🐩

The same thing happened with my Frigidaire range. Total lemon. They kept sending out repairmen who'd work on it, but never fix it. The oven never got up to temp - EVER. I'd have to set it at 375 to maybe get 300 and watch it like a hawk. But the scary part is that half the time we'd use the gas burners, our carbon monoxide alarm would go off. Every meal we'd have a broom on the ready to turn the alarm off and would be waiting to run around opening the windows and doors. Sometimes we'd get lucky, sometimes not.
This went on for two years, then the warrantee ran out. We paid for three repairmen to come out and they all failed. We ended up spending more money on three years of hell than the range originally cost.
Finally replaced it with a zline and that range is a DREAM. Sadly, our dog is broken and she still runs in shivering terror every time someone goes to fry an egg. smh The cocky cat has finally recovered and now understands that the alarm won't shriek when we're cooking.

I was a Speed Queen Dealer and people drop their units going into basements and expect the appliance to work properly.
What model do you have? Did you buy it at a big box store? I bought mine from a local dealer with service technicians. Many stores sell but farm out the service to inadequate technicians. Alliance is Speed Queen.
Purchased a TR7 on 9/26/20. Had it installed on 9/28/20. Now, 9/30/20, error code ED23 and washer will not work. I feel your pain. $1200 worth of junk at this point.
My four month TR7 has error code ER65. I think SQ should rethink where they are sourcing their electronics from and/or start doing 100% QC on their TR7 washers before selling them.
@@dogmom6772 Sorry to hear this. I called SQ again to ask who my approved service person is and still none. They have no follow-up for the customers.
@Albert Carello The error ended up being a bad relay on a circuit board. It was covered by warranty, but the repair tech tried to say the error was the result of bad power from the electric company. So to keep everyone happy, all the appliances are now on surge protectors.
I don't have a Speed Queen but a few months ago I became interested in buying one when my 17 year old Maytag washer started leaking water. I called their toll free number to inquire where I could buy one in my area and if I needed it serviced for whatever reason, who in my area would service it. I gave her my number but not before she took my email address first and I never heard from her again. All I got was ads and more ads to buy one. Very bad service in my opinion though I'm sure they make good washing machines. Fixed my Maytag myself and still using it.

They can’t even provide their own parts” as you have been told 1000 times, you’re a bit ignorant. You also state that the company is “rude” when you call them.. you also claim you are the “new agitator” hmmmm maybe we found the reason they are “rude”. Lastly, maybe next time, read reviews BEFORE buying something not AFTER. The main complaint on these models is they don’t clean as well as the TC series. I found this out in the first 10 minutes of starting my search for the Speed Queen model that would be best for our family.
I wish I had seen this before I bought a washer, I have had mine for 2 months, now it wont start, hold time when you call is 45 min, I have messaged them, I have reached out to the distributor here in PR and they don't service on this side of the Island, I wish I had just gone to Costco and bought one, would have cost under 1k and if I had a problem I could have taken it back. So disappointed. Thank you for sharing.
It just goes to show you that more expensive is not always better.
The TC5 model is the one you want, old school agitation at its best. The other more expensive models use a one piece tub and agitator that just swish clothes around, they don't clean as well.

All the research I've done and speed queen comes out as the top machine, and the TC5 looks to be the very best. I just purchased one this week, its on backorder so I may have to wait 3-6 weeks but I can't wait to crank it up !! Love the "old school" design, if it ain't broken, don't change it !

The old Whirlpools are great. Family of 5 lots of towels went 20 years. New SQ TR top loaders are not good. Get Maytag Commercial or SQ TC5 retro as mentioned.
Bought a brand new Speed Queen washer TC5000 May 23, 2020 in Rockland County, NY based on all the nice reviews posted.. It's already giving me problems. The start/pause button does not work unles you unplug/plug the machine. Today, June 2, 2020 the spin cycle started without me choosing the washing cycle. The mechanic is coming in tomorrow. I wish I bought a Maytag Commercial. Buyer be aware.

First off - Alliance IS Speed Queen. Second - IN A NUTSHELL - You Apparently didn't do your research because you opted for FANCY versus CLEAN. You Bought the WRONG MODEL of Speed Queen washing machine. Manufacturers have been forced to comply with the Good Old Government Regulations and THUS - 99% of your washing machines on the market NOW SUCK. Blame YOUR GOVERNMENT Not the Manufacturers whose hands are most often TIED. Speed Queen however was able to make a Machine that complies and STILL CLEANS Clothes WELL. You should have bought the TC-Series Washing Machine and You would have CLEAN CLOTHES! Speed Queen is STILL THE BEST Machine on the Market and offers the BEST WARRANTY. I've made the mistake of buying FANCY and FANCY doesn't mean CLEAN.

I feel they are the very best made with the best warranty and yes, you do have to know the difference in the models. I think she got the TR5 model or TR7 ? I just purchased the TC5 "classic clean" as I feel the more aggressive agitator is the way to go and have read nothing but rave reviews of its performance.
I have a tc5. Unless than 1 year soap suds coming out of the standpipe. Almost all parts replaced on a brand new washer. Contacted SQ several times with pictures and videos. Their solution is one ignore me,2. Use vinegar as a clean out and then for several washes. They said it’s not the washer! Ok did that. Still having the same issue. I have never had an issue with suds coming out of a standpipe ever with other washers. I have seen other videos and read comments about others having the same issue. Also the BBB website really tells the story about what people are dealing with. Wish I had gone there first because I never would have spent the money on this machine.
You used a lower quality washer machine for 17 years was it? But a higher quality comercial one breaks on you? I find that hard to believe unless you got flawed one or you didnt read manual and overworked it or damaged it somehow alot of people seem to overload they dont see warning in the manuals for things to do or not do i guessing same happened here you put like 4 king size comforters in it jammed motor and wondered why or how it broke.
Bought most basic Speed Queen with manual dials and mechanical "timer" just like old school. Exactly what I wanted. None of this High Efficiency BS. Purchased from locally owned old school mom and pop appliance store here in Tucson. Had small issue and they took care of me right away. I think they are price controlled and dealers in Phoenix had exact same price. So, I learned much better to go with mom and pop even if you have to pay a little more for peace of mind... Also, read warranty carefully. The entire machine is NOT covered for 10 years in my case just the transmission. Also, after 3 years only cover specific parts, no labor. I learned that lesson as well. If one of the new electronic control machines blows a control board, that is expensive.....stick with the cheap model manual controls...

@@GSPirosaki Yeah, TR series. Very quiet but I'll be honest it doesn't get your clothes as clean as the independent agitator model washers. I never had issues with under arm staining in my Tee shirts until we bought this machine. I now have to use bleach with white tees and spray n wash pretreatment for color tee's. I wish we bought the TC series with the independent agitator.

This video helps in no way. Half the comments praise the SQ, the other half condemn it. The only thing I got out of it is you are to buy a new SQ, buy the TC5000 model and make sure it was manufactured 2020 or above.

speed queen is made by alliance .The same company made`s washer for lundary mats i own a speed queen washer had it ten years and is still working.

I bought the classic tc5000. I wouldn't have bought any other speed queen. That computerized crap is nothing but problems.
Alliance is speed queen , alliance makes commercial units and speed queen is their residential model. Please do some research before you give a negative review because it make your rant seem more like nothing could make you satisfied. Ignored!

There is ALWAYS a percentage of appliances that break. You could get the absolutely best, and there is still a chance.
But just because it breaks on YOU, doesn't meant that the product in general is bad.
It's a wide problem, if MANY people have problems.
And the Speed Queens, and you can ask any technician / repair person, are NOT the ones that break more. They break the LEAST.
Also, and this probably messed up service.... pandemic times.
Thank goodness we're past that now.
When the EMP comes, all this is water off a ducks back!
