  • This month I will show you how i made this quilt I named Brick Wall Blues. This is one of the first quilts that I actually finished. I love mine so much I keep it on my bed all year round!! I designed this quilt to be super easy to put together so anybody and any level could do this! These make great blankets for picnics, beaches, tailgating or just to have in your car for late night star watching in the country! I hope you all give this a try!!

I am watching under a 1$ quilt from a thrift shop. It was made with great care and skill. Now it's mine and I love it!

My children were given quilts from their great grandmother. They absolutely loved them, so I'm doing the same for my grandbabies.

I have given quilts to people with so much love just to find out, they lost them or just gave it to there dogs. People just don't understand the time that goes into these quilts. Now im careful who i give them too. Love ❤️ your quilts.

You definitely have to find "quilt-worthy" friends and family members before gifting a quilt. Way too expensive and too much time and effort to give to the unappreciative!

Those people suck. I'd rather to get a quilt. Honestly it's the best present I could receive.

Beautiful "Brick Wall Blues". I was going to make a patch-work quilt in denim ... glad I saw this tutorial ... I think the 'Brick Wall Denim' will look much better. Thanks for the hint about the thrift shop! Now to start gathering (and buying) old bluejeans. Sorry about your brother ... been there ... I have siblings much like him.

Love to see men that quilt, and so sorry your first one was lost in that tragic story. You do want your quilts to be loved and used, but not forgotten about as if they didn't care for it. Great use of rectangles to make an interesting quilt. And different denim colors (go hit that thrift store!) Lucky for us, the popular trend is jeans in different colors. Happy quilting!

Im using 7.5" sqs adding jean strips when needed. Using pockets, waist band and fly.
Making a rug out of the welts is useful.

That sounds awesome!! I have made a rug before also! I weaved them together and sewed around the edges, it turned out great, I just never got around to doing a video on it!

Don't forget to label your quilts... Put your own name (including last name, city and state) on it as "Created by". Then when your fool brother lost it, a good samaritan might actually try to find YOU and return it (after which, I'd keep it of course!). Thanks for sharing your idea, design, tips and techniques with us! :-)

I have recently started to label my quilts. I just hope whoever found it appreciated it more than they did!

The situation with jean quilts is that they really do not need filler or much of a back side because they are heavy.

I think every family have a Dumb & Dumber. My mother had made a piece quilt with fancy stitching on the border for each of my siblings and myself. My brother's girlfriend had twin girls and she thought it would be a good idea to tale scissors and cut the quilt in two for their beds. Brother dumbest didn't think anything of it but my mother almost had a heart attack.

That would have been the LAST quilt they ever got from me!! People just don't understand the blood, sweat and tears it takes to make a quilt!! Thanks for watching!!
