I absolutely love this wonderful great man. He stayed at my parents hotel in Snowdonia 1983 hill walking and had a blast with my mum and dad over drinks and next day he invited me to join him for a cooked breakfast, I was 10 and asked him all about his acting and he was so funny with his great stories. Then before he left i joined him in shopping in our village as people came out to wave at him and get autographs it is one of the best memories of my childhood. I’ve still got his autograph with ‘great time with mum and dad your a lovely boy!’ We need more gems like Windsor in the World! 😊❤️✌️
My mum and dad loved him! They met him a couple of times in their local supermarket, he was a happy man. My parents always said he was lovely to talk too, his voice was so deep, almost musical to listen too!
There is NOTHING sad about the lives, or their ending, of 90% of the people you do a brief video synopsis of. Your entitled click bait is an insult to the intelligence of every single viewer.
I agree, Windsor Davies was and always be SSeargent Major Williams. With a music program Magix I made a cool old-school house/rap with his voice as Seargent Major. Thank you Windsor for the laughter and serieus emotional scenes you played. Thank you laddie.
I was born in 74. South East England. You have no idea how much of an impact and inspiration Windsor Davies was to me and today nearly 48 the love I felt for him and his craft feels no less today than it did over 40 years ago. Just wanted to share that.
Just a polite notice to the people who run this channel!! Maybe it's worth changing the titals to life and ending rather than sad ending. It's quite insulting to these great actors 🤔
Windsor Davies had a great life and career. He died aged 88. He married in 1957 to the love of his life and they stayed together until her death in 2018, Windsor passed away four months later. They had retired to the South of France. The narrator needs to stick to American stuff as he can't pronounce English words or has any clue who Windsor Davis was.
If you're going to do a documentary/obituary of a British actor for (presumably) a British audience, please check you pronunciation. Windsor's surname is 'Dave-iss' not Dave-ees', as you say it. Also, Cheltenham, is not pronounced 'Chelten Ham' , more like 'Chelt num'. I won't bother with correcting the other howling errors of English pronunciation in this piece. Too many to go through. Love and peace.
Erm Windsor led one of the fullest lives of any bloke, he was in the army, went to Bangor university, got jobs in very popular TV series, from ain't half hot mum to the new statesman, he died a happy wealthy fulfilling life, so if he had a sad ending I'm fkd then.
You mean we are sad because he died? Of course, but not a sad ending for Windsor, Don Estelle on the other hand was ignored by the Brits in his last years. Windsor Davis is the *only actor* i ever wanted to meet in person. Love from Kerala, India 🇮🇳❤
He lived a full life loved a great woman had children and grandchildren then peacefully died an old man. Where is the sad part of this story because I don’t see it
In the early ’90s I saw a copy of Special Beat, an in-house magazine for special constables. Within this particular issue was an article about Windsor Davies. The front cover was a photograph of him in Special Constabulary uniform, wearing the ribbons of the Special Constabulary Faithful Service Medal, and the Cadet Forces Medal. I can find nothing on line that acknowledges his service either as a special constable or as an instructor in any of the cadet forces, notwithstanding that a minimum of nine year’s service is required for the special constables’ medal, and twelve years for the Cadet Forces Medal! Anyone know anything about this?
I'm old....(oh God, I'm old). Late seventies friends and I grew up on English comedy programs. No drugs, no alcohol, just English comedy, pizza Pepsi and friends. What wonderful memories. Girls would come later.....much later....even had a couple of Sprites, one for racing. We love England, Scotland, Ireland for the brilliant minds they produced greatly enriching what we enjoyed on TV back then. My now ex-wife usually missed many of my jokes, but laughed because others laughed. Always had a dry sense of humor. Feel misplaced at times...played soccer, raced mx(scrambles), Centurion is my favorite tank, always drool over Avro Vulcan pictures....oh yeah, worst of all, I'm addicted to Airfix....the old kits.....can't resist....help....
Can't correctly pronounce the locations and titles. No sad ending for Windsor Davis. - you would be better off sticking to something you fully understand
Spike Milligan was of the opinion that Davies' role was "the funniest comic performance he had ever" watched and that is a massive commendation to a man who did not have a sad life or ending
In Australia many years ago, actors playing police did not wear full rank insignia, possibly the TV studios might have thought stolen uniforms could be misused, Now! have you noticed, that on his "uniform' as the BSM the only thing showing was a campaign ribbon probably earned because of his time in the military ,but no rank insignia , Was this anything to do with him never holding that rank? Today no one would expect to see anyone playing a roll without the full uniform, was there some disquiet about the military believing that anyone playing a roll like that should not wear stripes they never earned, I am not sure how many people will take this seriously but there must have been a reason why stripes and a Crown were not displayed.
Being read from Wikipedia with a very boring voice and with a few mistakes pronouncing some words. Had the same sad ending as everybody. He stopped breathing.

How exactly is this a sad ending? He was working up until he was 74 and died rich and famous surrounded by his large loving family?
exactly . Nothing sad about his end , just sad hes not around anymore.
Quite so, not a bad innings really. He died adored.
Simple, click bait.... I loved him in "never the twain" eleven seasons which is an incredible success
