UA-cam is not a sprint, it's a marathon. So be patient and consistent , keep making videos about what you love and at some point you'll be rewarded. And don't be obsessed over the stats by checking it multiple times a day, that won't raise the numbers. Only your dedication to your content will !!

I have created this channel in 2023. I started creating videos on 23 feb 2024 and its been 1 month and 8 days and i got 169 subscribers which i am happy about. I know its not much but when i heard other's struggle story, i feel my channel is still at least doing something. I hope it grows consistently. Now i am scared of freezed channel.
I have watched all you videos on optimising titles and descriptions and i have done the same channel settings as you said. But still views are not growing. I think its just about the time.

Even asking doesn't always work lol. We say it towards the end and we have a subscriber icon thingy flash up halfway through. But, at the end of the day no matter what, the viewer will only subscribe if THEY want to. No amount of asking will work. The only thing that will work is if they WANT to do it then they will ☺
Couldn't agree more kind of feels like they make it sound so easy with these videos saying do this do that hahah u could do everything and still not gain subs. Sure it looks easy when u have a huge amount already but for the most of us it's a long and slow process I get that we have to earn it sure my channel is not amazing but I try my best and appreciate the small amount of support I get

When the content is good (read: people want to subscribe) then it in fact does help to mention it more often. If the content isn't good (read: people don't want to subscribe) then indeed no amount of asking is going to help.

I get a whole whopping 0 subs per video! Maybe 1 or 2 every now and then. But I am one of those people that got SUPER upset by numbers and took a long break and now I am finally able to do it just for me. And if a community arises, that is good! The tiny community i have now is fantastic and I really want my space to be a safe place for all!

I enjoy your advice and I take it to heart. I agree that no one wants to hear a long intro. Just jump into content.
My Intro was long, needed to be more consistent, and I used to ask for subscribers.
After removing my Intro, improving my consistency, and working on my content quality, I've seen an uptick in views and subscribers.
Next, I will reincorporate asking people to subscribe.

When I was a Marine Corps recruiter, I read Sales Closing for Dummies and learned that 80% of people don’t buy because they’re never asked. This was me, I was a soft closer and once I asked (no matter how well the interview was going or went), I became a hard closer and I was able to show more people to the Marine Corps promise land.

But @the Gunnery that's what my recruiter did, but during his pitch he mentioned that he was going to ask a very important question at the end and when he got there, on top of everything he said...at the end he asked me, "Do you want to be a Marine?" I was sold.
@@Guitarnivore even that question right there, "Do you want to be a Marine?" is a soft close...I stopped even asking that question that way, and instead, I would say: "Everything looks good; looks like you're ready to be a Marine. Let's get this paperwork knocked out and get you scheduled for MEPS. I have this date or this date available. Which one works best for you?" This is a hard close. Plus I would change "looks" to "sounds" or "feels" depending on how they're learning at that time.
Just keep going everyone! It can take a while to gain subscribers or even views, but keep at it and you will get there. As long as you're doing something you love, the subscribers will come with that in time. Remember this one thing, UA-cam is a marathon not a sprint!!

For sure, it does get discouraging when you see huge channels and you watch their content and it is actually not that good and their thumbnail's are trash and lazy but they get millions of view and you work your butt off and get no traction lol

at one point 600-1000 a day for a long time. THen started dropping and then now its lowest ever since the ad changes. 20-40 a day

Look at other platforms to cross promote your content. Plus don't forget, every video can be edited into short clips that can be reposted on platforms such as TikTok, Facebook Reels or UA-cam Shorts. If you are doing a Podcast, record a video of it and you can use the audio, and post short clips for people to watch it or watch it in full on UA-cam.

I added the sub button at my end screen . I did start getting a few more subs . THEN I added a goal also at the end screen . I went from 5 to 10 per short to 10 to 18 per short.
My problem with this is I make music, remixes, beats but I often keep them short around 2 to 3 minutes. I want the listener to feel my music and it’s not the kind of content you pause and ask to subscribe 😂
Guess I’ll just keep on with my passion and see what happens.

Took me around 2 months to get 59 subscribers. I would say I average about 4 subs per video. Its a tough climb for new UA-camrs such as myself but consistency and persistence always pays off.

From 1046 views, I got 10 subscribers without asking on 1 video. So that part about the 1 subscriber per 116 viewer seems to be correct (well very similar) 1:17

I really don’t verbally ask people to subscribe, sometimes I’ll add it as some quick text or if I do mention it, it’s because I’ll mention another video that I plan on making so that way if the person wants to watch that video then they’ll be ready for it. Even then I haven’t noticed a significant increase in subscribers when asking in either scenario. People just seem to subscribe when they genuinely like you or the content is really good.
This is a great video - overall. I'm going to use this approach in the videos I've just recorded. The one thing wrong in this video is calling >1000+ subscribers a vanity metric. That's false. UA-cam's algorithm distributing your videos (and therefore watch time, CTR, etc.), partnerships, brand deals, mailing list income, etc. -- even Adsense revenues -- are ALL ultimately based on Subscribers. NO major brand is going to approach you (or listen to you if you approach them) with a whopping 1005 subscribers. Fact is, you brag about your 1M+ subscribers and show off your gold plaques for good reason. I'd recommend editing that sentence out, it's rubbish. But the rest of the video is spot on.
if you're reading this right now, there's no better time than now. Don't think its not gonna work cuz it will, you just need to unleash that inner artist and be consistent. It will work out for you!

The hrs are harder than getting the subscribers. Do daily shorts and the subscribers will come. The 4000 hrs take a good video and or a lot of content.

That's an interesting point. My channel is a little less than a month old, and I started from scratch. I'm a UA-cam newbie, and I often forget to ask people to subscribe. I did remember to do it at the end of what turned out to be my most popular video, and I gained 6 subs from that where as most of my long form vids only get 0-2 subs. I didn't even ask in a fun way because I was kinda sad by the end of the video, but it still got the most subs.

2 - If you need 30 seconds of watch time to count as a view, in a 1 minute video with 50% retention at 30 seconds and total View Count of 100 views, in fact I got 200 clicks on the video?

I learned this by myself about a week ago.
Usually i made like 100 subs per month, then I asked ONCE not at the end, but in the Middle of the Video with a simple „by the way, if you find me helpful, leave a sub since there will be more videos about similar topics in the future! Okay, back to the Video!“
And suddenly I got 96 Subs at 3600 clicks in the first 24 hours.
This completely blew my mind!
