    This is an amazing effect.... If this was supposed to have been a tutorial on how to use this product, you left us with more questions than answers.

    • @justiniantbh
      @justiniantbh 8 років тому +32

      1. Paint nail (probably a color similar to the powder) and cure; clean the nail.
      2. Buff the nail with a white block, clean again.
      3. Apply top coat, cure. DO NOT CLEAN. Using a silicone tipped tool of some sort, pick up some of the powder and push and buff it into the inhibition layer. Once covered, smooth it all out. (They use some kind of correcting pen to clean up the skin and edges).
      4. If you've ever worked with mirror effect nail products, you know they are hard to keep on. Use 2 layers of hard gel to help the effect last as long as it can.
      5. Clean the hard gel, buff, and then top coat for shine.
      I'm assuming the top coat sticks better to buffed surfaces rather than inhibition layers. Hopefully this helped, please reply if you have other questions :P

      +☽ аиаѕтаsіо ☾ do you have to use black polish as a base?

    • @justiniantbh
      @justiniantbh 8 років тому

      Amy Kathleen Good question, though I'm not completely sure. I'm assuming it's so the nail isn't see-through. If there was no black gel under it, one could probably see through the tip of the nail easily since there would only be a thin layer of powder, though I don't think using any other kind of colour would be visible. We'd have to try this product to find out :~)

      Glued on get at aliexpress for 2 bucks, for this, i learned a trick myself, looks almost as good as this but i used gold glitter: paint black, mistakenly let fall golden glitter on your bed and put them all back on the pot, there will be tinier glitter bits, mistakenly rest your nail tip on them, do it often, an even shiny coat will appear, apply coat fast dry and youre done! i dont know where to purchase thinner dust glitter, maybe i should do tutorial, its super cheap and takes as long as this video XD

    • @VioletteClemence
      @VioletteClemence 8 років тому +8

      Maybe I'm just better at applying a smooth coat of polish, but I don't get all the buffing either. Also, why was the tech going over and over and over brushing on the top coat? Maybe that's why this person has to buff so much. And what about the tiny, one nail only, lamp? I'm guessing that gets really tedious. All in all, the whole application was strange.

    • @omawumiadokpaye6628
      @omawumiadokpaye6628 6 років тому

      ronnet sonnet Seems like I Lane had this same problem before with the top coat peeling off like strips of nylon
      So Ronnet, what you are saying is if I want to avoid that, I should buff the nails before putting on topcoat??? Please reply .
      Also I need to ask (since you seem to know what's up lol) does chrome powder set well on the nails when you are using the silicone brush to apply it versus using the makeup applicator , the finger or that triangular makeup sponge ? Which application method is the best for getting the best out of your chrome powders ?
      what was that stuff that look like topcoat that he used the brush to apply twice ? Thought it was the topcoat initially till I saw him apply top -coat at the end .
      Thanks for the comment and pls reply, could use your expertise.

    • @coolkid-xc1yi
      @coolkid-xc1yi 6 років тому +1

      Lyn Blair The reason why she kept buffing was because gel is a little trick to deal with. You have to mak sure the surfac area is matt and not shiny, and free of any kind of oils or else the gel top coat won't stick. This is why you have to use a primer and a dehydrator when preping your nails for gel because any oil even from the cuticles will cause lifting. And the reason why she put alot of topcoat is to make sure the chrome powder sticks everywhere and doesn't miss any spots

      after curing the gel top coat, there's a sticky layer left behind that you usually remove with alcohol. they didn't remove that layer here, they used it as the "glue" to hold the powder in place

    • @solaria85
      @solaria85 8 років тому +2

      usually the pigment is applied on top of a top coat without the sticky layer..... at least the brands I know.

    • @plutoporn
      @plutoporn 6 років тому +1

      Emily Corcoran No the sticky layer makes the powder dull and not shiny. They used a no wipe top coat where you could buff/rub the powder on.

    • @tiramisulove5972
      @tiramisulove5972 6 років тому

      Excuse me, whats the difference? Can't you just remove the sticky layer from the wipe top coat and then aplly the powder?

    • @plutoporn
      @plutoporn 6 років тому +2

      tiramisulove if you use a regular wipe top coat then after curing it, it leaves behind a sticky layer which can be problematic using chromes and holos if you don't wipe off the layer, typically with rubbing alcohol, leaving the powder dull with minimal shine/reflection. If you use a no wipe top coat then there is no sticky layer that you would have to wipe off. In my personal opinion no wipe tops coats are better since they save a little time. Hope I helped.

      Not necessarily - the top coat just might be finnicky and sticks only to buffed surfaces and not inhibition layers, or the inhibition layers of these gels might not be "sticky" enough for other layers of gel to stick too
      Especially with some color gel polishes I've worked with, topcoats or whatever really work best on their buffed surfaces as opposed to their inhibition layers

      Ana Karina ive read somewhere that you need gelpolish

    • @isabellaperales6272
      @isabellaperales6272 6 років тому

      You don’t, I have done it with just a regular nail polish. The trick is to make sure that it’s not completely dry. (Dry enough to not dent the polish when lightly rubbing in the powder but still wet enough to get the powder to stick) The gel does work better though. I use a base coat that peels off when I’m ready to remove it, it’s perfect for easy removal.

      Right? That product was hiking up those cuticles like no tomorrow. Less is definitely more. No need to slather so much on there. >_>

    • @Nails21channel
      @Nails21channel  8 років тому +7

      Don't worry guys, this is a rubber pen, so no cuticles were hurt in while filming this video :) but to get a full mirror effect, you need to get to every corner of the nail, and the excess is removed with the other tip of the pen, and a corrective pen ;) Thanks!

    • @Sighduckling
      @Sighduckling 8 років тому

      Yeah, I like the method better where they rub it on. I've only seen it a couple times, but in snap chat videos when friends were getting their nails done. They weren't using all those unnecessary tools, and instead of having to use a pen to remove the excess, they used a nail product that was like school glue and then peeled it off so there was no pushing around, or using up something else. This video was ok.

      and here we find a problem with SimplyNailogical fans: the majority of them only know how regular nail polish works :P
      For gels, they can't be too opaque or too thick or else the pigments will stop the light from penetrating the gel and it won't cure. Thus, the only time you find gels that are opaque in one coat have to be painted as thin as possible or else they harden on the outside but stay liquid or gelly on the inside.

    • @Nails21channel
      @Nails21channel  8 років тому

      It is not milk, it is a very 'black black' gel polish, but with gel polishes, you need to apply very streched layer, as opposed to normal polishes, but as you can see, it didn't need a second coat of black, because it doesn't leave any transparent openings ;) (Nails 21 EASY Gel Polish line is awesome and very 'easy' to work with eheh) Thanks!

    Two coats of hard gel will make those almost impossible to get off. Unhappy clients. I don't know why they don't just use two or even three coats of soak off gel top coat instead. Much more practical.
