To answer your question about the Isopropyl Alcohol allowing the powder to "stick" better, the alcohol softens the topcoat slightly, giving the powder something to "bite" into. I build model cars, and we use 91% Isopropyl Alcohol to strip certain types of paints. I'm also trying to find some of this myself so I can "rechrome" bumpers on models. I already use Acrylic Fingernail Filler for bodywork, and use Nail Polishes for paint all the time.
+Mike Sarris thank you so much!! We sell the chrome powder at my store. Currently on sale for $10 for 2 grams. Www.luxapolish.com. Again thank you for answering!
+Mike Sarris not what was in this video...that is from another company $17 for 2.5 grams. I have a demo video with Luxa Chrome if you'd like to check it out. We have not done much testing with chrome pigment and regular polish....but many customers have had great success with regular polish :)
I just finished the Luxa Chrome video, expect an order in a few minutes. If it works for what I'm going to try, I can promise you you'll have quite a few more orders from crazed Model Builders in the near future!
Hi! For a better application for chrome or holo, you just have to '' half cure'' your top coat, i'm using the naio mega gloss or the regular one and i just flash cure it 15 seconds then i apply the powder and i finish the cure. Once again i rub the nail with the applicator or my finger for a final shine, dust off and the last glossy top coat on top to seale this beauty ^^ , it works great for me. Nice video tfs 😘
Omg girl I could kiss you right now! I want to thank you for being the first video to actually say "apply pressure"!! Even with your technique I wasn't getting it right and then you said those magical words..I pressed harder and voila! Actual chrome not the sparkly crap 🤣🤦🏻♀️ I'm such a ditz, thankyou so much LOL
I ordered this a few days ago and got both the no wipe top coat and chrome powder in the mail today. I am in love!!!! I couldn't believe how easily it went in and how perfect the finish is! I just can't stop looking at my mirror nails! Great products and the shipping was super fast!
Great video. I've seen about a dozen videos about this and many others about doing chrome stuff. One UA-camr used chrome nail polish powder for making some really nice hood ornaments and tried some powder chrome nail polish very similar to this, and I'm in a rabbit hole about making Lego builds using chrome techniques. I know you and many subscribers and comments are going to think I'm weird and they're probably correct. I got a roll of adhesive mirror a while ago and got pretty good at cutting pieces of it for use on Lego. I've made a shaving mirror for the shower, a chrome Ferrari race car, and a couple of really nice kaleidoscopes all from Lego. I have plans for a 3D kaleidoscope and a little hall of mirrors for Lego guys to get lost in. I'm retired and just killing time, really but it's just fun! The adhesive mirror isn't super great for any kinds of curved parts, especially not the kinds of compound curves that compose the shapes of fingernails and those hood ornaments I mentioned were so cool and shiny they looked like metal and not resin. I found the tutorial here so helpful and covered so much, that I feel pretty confident about using this product and process on the types of plastics that Lego parts are made of. I believe I can make quite a great Many things with one little jar too. My UA-cam channel has a couple videos about my first two kaleidoscopes if anyone wants to see them. I will update you when I do my own testing process and make something really cool. Thanks for giving the information so well. You definitely have a scientific mind. I'm actually really impressed that so much goes into the artwork of simple fingernails. I bet most people, even those of y'all who are doing it, realize how much science is going on! Once again thank you!
After watching a vid by Ten Little Canvasses, I ordered the chrome pigment she used. It's called Chromegeddon from a company called Social Claws out of California. It is absolutely fabulous and it doesn't cost an arm and a leg. With shipping, it was around $12 and I received it in less than 5 days. And the container is brilliant! Just shake out a wee bit into a container (I used a small ceramic bowl), and it didn't get all over the place. Highly recommend! Oh, and if you use a one-step gel as a base (I used Madam Glam), you don't need the no-wipe topcoat before adding the pigment. Of course, you need to top-coat it after rubbing in the chrome, but I didn't use a no-wipe, just a regular top coat.
+Sam Hugh oh yeah! One step gel polishes are somewhat new and I do not use them in the salon so I totally forgot about them. That definitely would save a step!! Thanks for bringing to my attention :)
I'm having a problem with the chrome powder staying on! It's by born pretty top grade,it's so pretty and I have no problems getting it on it shines beautiful. I use a no wipe top coat by Bio Seaweed, also have there base coat my nails are really growing since I started using this. No chipping, before I had started having problems with gel polish staying on my nails. I used Gelish, CND,other good brands. For years I could keep polish on for up to 6weeks but started looking bad at the cuticle. Thanks for the video's
My nails were a grainy silver but it could be coz i was using gelish top it off top coat but now I'm going to buy a No wipe top coat. I wanna be able to see my face in nails.. Thanks for the advice 😉
You're right about the smooth mirror look in comparison to the other product in your last video... I love the look of these nails. Thanks for the education..
I'm not sure where I may have read or heard this but wiping the gel with alcohol stops the curing process and removes any gel residue that hasn't cured. And gel polish apparently has pores and that's what the pigments attach to... so with that im assuming that curing the gel hardens and shrinks the pores and if you don't wipe it the pores continue to shrink making it harder for pigments to grab on.
Very informative video, thanks alot! This might sounbd crazy, but I want to try this on small part of my motorbike. I have a few smaller plastic covers, and I have some metal mirrors that I would like to try this on. To get the most mirror look, should I put on black nailpolish first? I allready have a teen daughter with an uv lamp, so I just need to know what should the very first layer be, like straght on the metal piece?
We're no experts at applying chrome to a motorbike so we can't give any sound advice BUT if you do try it please tag us on Instagram! Best of luck! 🤩-M
wow yours turned out so good! I'm broke so I'm using cheap powder and cheap top coat but hopefully it works! Obviously not as good as yours but sometimes you have to compromise some quality.
No matter what combination of powder and no-wipe top coat I use, mine turns out looking glittery :( I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I've used a silicone brush, eyeshadow brush, wiped with alcohol first, used a brush to get the excess off, but right when I put on that final no-wipe topcoat layer, the mirror effect is gone. I've tried with so many swatches and it's never right! Any advice?
I have Born Pretty, Wildflowers, and Sparkle & Co. I use firm pressure and I like using the silicone brush more for that. I have tried gel-II no wipe top coat, wildflowers, sparkle and co, and I have elite99 on the way. I am obviously doing something wrong! I'm thinking there must be some excess left over but I wipe the nail with a brush and I'm not sure what else I can do.
+Melissa Crawford hmmmm....I have found using on of those triangle wedge sponge makeup applicators for lightly dusting off excess chrome really helps as well. Hope that helps at all
the alcohol softens up the gel a bit. it's probably too cured for the the powder to stick by the time you get to your thumb..so the alcohol softens it.
Please, I need help. I used Golden Roses normal top coat on top of the black and the powder won't stay. I dont use UV lamp light tho. Do I need Gel Shine top coat? What am i doing wrong here?
Hello, loved your video. I'm in a country where we don't have gel nail polish. My nails are long and natural. I would like to make the metallic look but I don't have gel top coat. Can I use regular polish?
it is possible if you could tell me what brand of no wipe top coat and black nail polish you are using? Thank you so much!!! your video was so helpful!!
Do you apply a top coat over the chrome powder? My asthetician did that with gel and a lamp and it doesn't really have that chrome finish I expected. I paid 12 dollars for my power so I don't think it was quality issue with the product. I looks metallic, but not chrome like.
You can use regular polish with the chrome powder or the sally Hanson gel polish (non uv). Polish your nail with 2 coats of polish ,let dry. Then put on top coat, let dry or no top coat I'm not sure. Use plenty of powder and buff away til you get your mirror finish. You can't use regular top coat now or even the sally Hanson gel. You need to use a water based top coat to maintain the mirror finish after which you may use regular top coat or fast dry top coat to make it last longer since water based polish does not last long. The brand of chrome powder does make a difference as well. The cheap stuff doesn't seem to work well so make sure the powder you use is of good quality. Also you can use different nail polish colors to alter the shade of the chrome finish. For example, Orange polish underneath the silver powder will give you a rose gold look.
+Lisa PPhoenix Thank you Lisa!! At our store www.luxapolish.com we have many customers that ask if it chrome nails cane be done successfully with regular nail polish.
I just ordered the powder thinking it would work with Any gel topcoat, I have not recovered it yet but my gel is a wipe off topcoat do you think there is any way it would work maybe if I applied light pressure while wiping or is it just not going to work? Ps great video👌🏼
THANK U for both Chrome Mirror videos. I experienced using regular nail lacquer that I get a BETTER mirror finish. I used a Gel base coat twice and 2 coats of Chrome powder. As suggested n your other video. Maybe it just depends on the Brand of Gel base coat.
+Cindy Hilburn in my first chrome video i used cnd shellac base ...it worked but didnt give the best chrome mirror look. From what Ive experienced i got the best chrome mirror finish with a no wipe top coat.
Question…after getting the mirror look with the chrome powder I finished it off by applying the igel non wipe top coat & it messed up my mirror look and turned glittery…..do you think I just need to switch top coats?
If the gel top coat you used made the chrome sparkly it does boil down to two things: the top coat or the chrome. I’m thinking it may be the top coat! Luxa Shine won’t change the finish of your mirror chrome 😍
Hey I just found your videos and they are great!!! I am an Esthetician and I like to focus on nails and lashes , so I find your videos very helpful! Would love it if you continued with more videos on owning your own business as I have recently started my own small business, even like a video series!!! There is a need for those type of videos on here! Also love to have a tour of the work space and Haul videos!!! Thanks again!
what's the difference between intense seal top and no wipe top? aren't they the same? nails look so good. do you sell this powder? do you ship to Australia?
+icy ngan hi! Intense seal (IBD) is made for gel or acrylic nails as a top no cleanse top coat. It cannot be used for natural nails. I've heard people have used with chrome but have no personal experience with it. Yes we will carry it and ship to Australia. Hoping the store will be open in the next week :)
+icy ngan Luxa Shine is a NO wipe top coat formula that can also be used over gel polish in natural nails. Intense seal top coat is too hard and can Crack over natural nails. :)
do you put the black gel and then the no wipe gel on top of blk the wipe with alcohol or do you put the black gel then wipe and then the Chrome then the no wipe gel
+None Ya no. Apply black cure. Apply no wipe, cure. Wipe with alcohol if the powder doesn't stick. Then apply powder. Dust off. Then apply no wipe, cure. Hope that helps
Would you say chrome nails stay longer on hard gel rather than soft gel? Just started using it on a couple people with Gelish and it seems to chip and rub off in about 4 days. Used it on myself with hard gel and seems to last a lot longer. Can you recommend anything to make it last on natural nails? I use ez flow no wipe top coat and I've also tried Gossip. Thanks!!
+Gina Burdick try 2 thin coats of your top coat. Some clients no matter what you do just can't wear them. I just warn my clients that the powders are more delicate.
+Angel & Macayla Perez yes. I know there is no tacky/sticky layer after you cure the no wipe top coat but the alcohol temporarily softens the top coat so the pigment sticks. Hope that helps.
+Fabiana A Duchini Hi! The chrome is over acrylic but you can do over natural nail with gel polish as well. The final top coat is Luxa Shine No wipe gel top coat
tanbanban why do you have to use no wipe top coat? What will happen if the top coat is the kind you have to wipe, does it take away the shine if you wipe?
Stephanie Lewis , we usually use the no wipe top coat instead the regular top coat because it won’t take away the chrome powder and for my idea it’ll help the chrome powder stay longer 😊
Can you do a vid on best nail polishes or topcoat/basecoat? When you work, do you only use professional nail polish (as in brands that aren't sold in drugstores?) or you use a mix of high-end and low-end polishes? Found your channel through Hollie Forrest
Hello! What no wipe top coat do you use? I use Madam Glam's no wipe top coat and I find that it dulls the mirror effect just a little bit. So I'm desperate to know what no wipe top coat you use. Thank you so much in advance! :)
+LuxaPolish you can go to www luxapolish.com and sign up to be notified when it opens :) Also that's a bummer about madam glam...I heard good things about them
If u use a peel off base the problem is the chrome will not long lasting like on the full processed nails, but if u r scared using black on the natural nails first u can use any color has a base and second if u wanna u can apply a good base coat or two layer but in this case very very thin layer and be careful there will be no dust on your base or polish or gel otherwise with chrome u will see very clear. Hope i did help you
Absolutely no problem i really enjoy your way to explain because I'm a teacher too and when i saw beautiful nails but no description how to reach that goals for me is waste of time so i appreciate your work
I believe no wipe top coat means a gel top coat that doesn’t have sticky residue after. Some gel top coats are sticky and have to be wiped to get rid of that layer and some are not sticky after curing
@@cindylin666 Right. But, if you're wiping with alcohol anyways (which is what you normally use to get rid of the sticky layer) then why emphasize no wipe? It's not like the outcome is different otherwise.
@@weddinggirl7214 because you put chrome on that no wipe top coat, if it was sticky top coat chrome would just stick to it and you wouldn't be able to rub it in. That's why it is important. And the top coat that you put as the last layer can be any top coat
@@mirnagrdic9669 I think you're missing the point. No shade. But just read my last reply. I know the chrome would not stick to the sticky gel coat; however, it should not matter if it's no wipe or not because you are using alcohol to wipe it clean and you always use alcohol to wipe off the sticky layer anyways. So no wipe or non no wipe the alcohol clears the sticky anyways and thusforth leaving a clean sticky-free surface to rub in the chrome.
Have you tried the born pretty store powder? It looked pretty good and it's cheap, I don't know if I should get it though after watching this video...please help. If you can do a comparison video it would be much appreciated :)
+fostofina I have not tried the silver chrome from born pretty....I have the gold one from them which I do not care for. The gold has a green shimmer in it :/ I looked up the ship date on amazon for born pretty silver chrome and it said Sept 16rh.....that so far away. I'm sure someone has done a born pretty chrome review
I keep having a problem with the polish wrinkling or disappearing when I cure. I've tried to thin it. Also What's up nails says to use a water based or peel off topcoat for regular polish. I like the prices on Luxa. I think I will order from them next time.
I purchased a set from Born Pretty and I think it might be a low quality only because My simple little pleasures used the one you have over a watermarble and it came out great. I tried it and you could not see the watermarble.
What too coat did you use. I purchased the same chrome you have from the same company. I used some too coats but after it just looks like glitter polish the chrome is gone.
What brand top coat do you recommend. When I got this done in a salon, it did not come out shiny like chrome, it was dull. I hear that the coat is important please advise?
W0W! You have gorgeous nails to begin with! I've tried using rubbing alcohol to whipe off before applying the powder but it doesn't seem to help at all. I wonder why?
+reenie rae I know with Luxa Shine no wipe you need to use 91% isopropyl alcohol to get pigments to stick....other brands I'm not sure if it needs that. It's just a suggestion to try
+reenie rae it also good be the pigment you are using.. ? The thicker/bigger particle pigments didn't seem to work....at all...with or without alcohol. I think those kind of pigments are meant to be rubbed into the tacky layer of the cured gel.
Luxapolish. Thank you for your help. I have some Elite99 no wipe on the way. In the meantime I am using Pretty Diva no wipe. The powder doesn't seem to want to stick even after I wipe with alcohol. I cured for 30 seconds. Maybe that's not long enough. Oh well, I'll keep trying. Lol. Again, thank you for your help. :)
I am using elite99 no wipe topcoat too for chrome nails. I alwata have problem that the topcoat will peel of in 1 or next 2 days. Its that bcause the topcoat quality or there is a step that i need to know?
Luxapolish thanks! No wipe right? I was wondering if maybe you could answer this or tell me if this is correct, but I did my gel nails yesterday, no wipe top coat. I'm getting the pigment in the mail today so can I just rub it on top of my manicure and then seal with the top coat?
+Dely Muniz Hi. You still need to use a no wipe gel top coat over the chrome. After you cure gel it has a tacky/sticky layer that needs to be wiped off with alcohol. With a no wipe Top Coat it doesn't leave that tacky residue
Is the powder you sell the same as what is used in this video? And can it be used over a regular Clear topcoat, or only a Gel Clear topcoat?
+Mike Sarris not what was in this video...that is from another company $17 for 2.5 grams. I have a demo video with Luxa Chrome if you'd like to check it out. We have not done much testing with chrome pigment and regular polish....but many customers have had great success with regular polish :)
+Mike Sarris totally no glitter effect at all!! Just as good if not better ;) took me months to find the right quality.
I just finished the Luxa Chrome video, expect an order in a few minutes. If it works for what I'm going to try, I can promise you you'll have quite a few more orders from crazed Model Builders in the near future!

+sanguinesoulful so glad you enjoy it! A review on our site would be so helpful for potential customers on the fence about ordering :)
I have just submitted my glowing review. :)
Thanks for a beautiful product!
You just saved me!!! I was about to give up on chrome! The alcohol worked!!!! Thank you thank you thank you!!!
This was so much better than all other videos!!!!! Thank you!!!!
That wipe after did all the difference ! I did a gun metal chrome tip with water droplets. I’ll tag you once the video is up!! Thank you !!

You're right about the smooth mirror look in comparison to the other product in your last video...
I love the look of these nails. Thanks for the education..
Great video! I saw another where a guy apply acetone as you do with alcohol, and made a great effect too.
Thanks! Yes we found acetone will work too!
omg i’m trying this later !! i was having trouble achieving the mirror look ... it kept looking sparkly
also how long do your cure the black gel polish and top coat ?
I'm not sure where I may have read or heard this but wiping the gel with alcohol stops the curing process and removes any gel residue that hasn't cured. Can you post a link to this Chrome powder? Daily Charme has a platinum chrome and a regular, but neither says “AGA-03.”
as long as you use "no wipe top coat" you can use it on any nail polish ☺☺
wish I could post a photo of mine that I did this morning
wow yours turned out so good! I'm broke so I'm using cheap powder and cheap top coat but hopefully it works! Obviously not as good as yours but sometimes you have to compromise some quality.
Where can I buy valentino dust extractor ?
How do you remove the chrome on your nails? What is a good uv gel nail dry to cure at home?
No matter what combination of powder and no-wipe top coat I use, mine turns out looking glittery :( I don't know what I'm doing wrong. +Melissa Crawford hmmmm....I have found using on of those triangle wedge sponge makeup applicators for lightly dusting off excess chrome really helps as well. Hope that helps at all
What top coat do I use with the chrome powder to keep the mirror effect? Everytime I use a top coat over it, it takes away the mirror effect!
Me too! Is there an answer to this?
I also tried using a water based top coat and it made it look weird. Def not mirrored anymore haha. May as well just use regular silver polish....
I'm sure it has smth to do with the top coat... Maybe it needs to be a non wipe top coat
I'm not using gel Polish for it, should I still use that
Apparently it just looks best with gel polish yeah
Yep watched hundreds of videos trying to figure out the secret and after hours trying I figured this out the hard way 😂. Best tip on the Web thank you
Thank you for this video! Question.. do you need an led lamp to get the best looking chrome nails or does it not matter?
Hi! I hear there are water based regular top coat you can use...but they dont last very long
How do I get the products you’re talking about. Where can I order it or what’s the name of the products the polish the chrome the topcoat etc.
Waoooooo Big 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻to you!!! Because of the trick with the alcohol my chrome application is much more smoother, no blank spaces .....thanks to you
+Hadenc123 yay! So awesome! Glad I could help!!
Thank you sooooo much for this wonderful tip with the alcohol!
So u need a special kind of polish as a base to make it stick?
Do you have a link to that partly chrome powder?
Links are in the description! 🖤 -E
the alcohol softens up the gel a bit. it's probably too cured for the the powder to stick by the time you get to your thumb..so the alcohol softens it.
where do you get your mirror pigment from?
Please, I need help. I used Golden Roses normal top coat on top of the black and the powder won't stay. I dont use UV lamp light tho. Do I need Gel Shine top coat? What am i doing wrong here?
Trying to decide between these or a matte beige next....lol I think you helped me decide. 😆
Hello, loved your video. I'm in a country where we don't have gel nail polish. My nails are long and natural. I would like to make the metallic look but I don't have gel top coat. Can I use regular polish?
is it necessary to use a gel nail polish for doing mirror nails?

+Lisa PPhoenix I also agree with the quality of chrome...it makes a big difference on the finished look!! :)
So the steps are black gel, then top coat, rub alcohol, chrome, and gel top coat again?
need to know which chrome is that...and do the tutorial complete since 1
Does the Sally Hansen Double Duty base and top coat work the same as the no wipe top coat?
I just ordered the powder thinking it would work with Any gel topcoat, I have not recovered it yet but my gel is a wipe off topcoat do you think there is any way it would work maybe if I applied light pressure while wiping or is it just not going to work? Ps great video👌🏼
+NailpOWLish Hi! Did you order luxa chrome?
Did these chip at all? I know this was last year lol. I’ve heard you have to apply a base before top coat so the top coat has something to stick to?
THANK U for both Chrome Mirror videos. I experienced using regular nail lacquer that I get a BETTER mirror finish. I used a Gel base coat twice and 2 coats of Chrome powder. As suggested n your other video. Maybe it just depends on the Brand of Gel base coat.
+Cindy Hilburn in my first chrome video i used cnd shellac base ...it worked but didnt give the best chrome mirror look. From what Ive experienced i got the best chrome mirror finish with a no wipe top coat.
What's the type of alcohol you used? Isotopal? and how much pressure do you use when putting the chrome on?
+Nyx Necrodragon vodka! Jkjk. I used isopropyl alcohol ...91% or higher isopropyl best. I also use light/medium pressure to rub the chrome in. :)
Can these be used to repair the scuffs on silver mirrored heels?
How do you like the chrome finish. Having a pedicure done with it in a couple of weeks from now. I'm Chad by the way.
@@LuxaPolish I just purchased it & will try it out. Thank you ☺️
What kind of UV lamp are you using, which brand and model?
What is the best no wipe to coat please? Great video by the way!
Best no white top coat are madam glam and also akzents (little expensive the second but amazing)
+Joe Giovanetti I will post what products I use soon :)
+Rachel Ingram I will post what products I use soon :)
Hi! Thank you for the kinds words :)
I agree...would love videos on owning your own business...for us newbies.
he variety of textures in the #kkuwan pack is impressive. From smooth leather to textured suede, there's something for everyone.
Need to try chrome with the alcohol before! Looks awesome!
How long does it last ? I'm scared it will chip off after applying alcohol in between.
Which alcohal should use regular alcohal ?
Which kind the base coat do i have to use to do chrome ?
what's the difference between intense seal top and no wipe top? aren't they the same? nails look so good. do you sell this powder? do you ship to Australia?
+icy ngan hi! Intense seal (IBD) is made for gel or acrylic nails as a top no cleanse top coat. It cannot be used for natural nails. I've heard people have used with chrome but have no personal experience with it. Yes we will carry it and ship to Australia. Hoping the store will be open in the next week :)
+LuxaPolish thanks. I am waiting to see your shop. haha. I do know what is intense seal but I don't really know what is no wipe top coat?
+icy ngan Luxa Shine is a NO wipe top coat formula that can also be used over gel polish in natural nails. Intense seal top coat is too hard and can Crack over natural nails. :)
+LuxaPolish OK. thx!
Is it with topcoat in the end of the video ?
What colour is the chrome pigment.?
do you put the black gel and then the no wipe gel on top of blk the wipe with alcohol or do you put the black gel then wipe and then the Chrome then the no wipe gel
+None Ya Hi! Black gel. Cure. No wipe cure. Wipe with alcohol. Apply chrome. Then no wipe. Cure. Hope that helps.
Luxapolish ok wait sorry apply blk gel, cure then wipe with alcohol then apply chrome powder then no wipe gel top coat ? Is that correct? Sorry
+None Ya no. Apply black cure. Apply no wipe, cure. Wipe with alcohol if the powder doesn't stick. Then apply powder. Dust off. Then apply no wipe, cure. Hope that helps
Luxapolish thanks for quick reply. so after blk gel are you curing the no wipe top and still wiping the no wipe gel top coat . is that correct?
Luxapolish thank you
Would you say chrome nails stay longer on hard gel rather than soft gel? Just started using it on a couple people with Gelish and it seems to chip and rub off in about 4 days. Used it on myself with hard gel and seems to last a lot longer. Can you recommend anything to make it last on natural nails? I use ez flow no wipe top coat and I've also tried Gossip. Thanks!!
+Gina Burdick try 2 thin coats of your top coat. Some clients no matter what you do just can't wear them. I just warn my clients that the powders are more delicate.
Luxapolish great! Will try that. Thanks so much!
so do you use the no wipe top. coat before the alcohol?
+Angel & Macayla Perez yes. I know there is no tacky/sticky layer after you cure the no wipe top coat but the alcohol temporarily softens the top coat so the pigment sticks. Hope that helps.
Hi what did you use after the powder? This is acrylic nail? Or natural nail ??
+Fabiana A Duchini Hi! The chrome is over acrylic but you can do over natural nail with gel polish as well. The final top coat is Luxa Shine No wipe gel top coat
What do you mean by no white top coat? And what percentage isopropyl alcohol do you use?
Kimberly Abuelhaj .. it is the no wipe top coat ( or you can use no cleanse top coat )
tanbanban why do you have to use no wipe top coat? What will happen if the top coat is the kind you have to wipe, does it take away the shine if you wipe?
Stephanie Lewis , we usually use the no wipe top coat instead the regular top coat because it won’t take away the chrome powder and for my idea it’ll help the chrome powder stay longer 😊
does black varnish have to be wet?
What sliver polish is this omg it’s like Jordan fisher
When you use regular nail polish. You can use intense seal from ibd..i use it and it works great
Why does it have to be no wipe gel topcoat? I used the C&D shellac Dura force, and it seemed to work
Do no wipe top coats work without or with a lamp? I am confused...
+Amy scs no wipe or tack free are gel top coats which need a lamp (LED or uv)
Excellent video! Clear, precise, well filmed!! I just subscribed😊
+Jennifer Wong thank you!
Beautiful!
Hello what top coat do you use(gel)? Because before I apply my top coat its chrome but after it just look silver.
Hi! Luxa shine was used
Can you do a vid on best nail polishes or topcoat/basecoat? When you work, do you only use professional nail polish (as in brands that aren't sold in drugstores?) or you use a mix of high-end and low-end polishes? Found your channel through Hollie Forrest
Hello! What no wipe top coat do you use? I use Madam Glam's no wipe top coat and I find that it dulls the mirror effect just a little bit. So I'm desperate to know what no wipe top coat you use. Thank you so much in advance! :)
+Nicole Shum hi! I'll be sharing what no wipe top coat I use soon :)
+LuxaPolish you can go to www luxapolish.com and sign up to be notified when it opens :) Also that's a bummer about madam glam...I heard good things about them
Thank you so much!! Worked like a charm!
@gaylaparks543 YAY! So glad we could help!🤍-M
I think chrome nails should be trending
Could you do chrome nails on natural nails and use a peel-off base coat like Unt Nail Lacquer?
If u use a peel off base the problem is the chrome will not long lasting like on the full processed nails, but if u r scared using black on the natural nails first u can use any color has a base and second if u wanna u can apply a good base coat or two layer but in this case very very thin layer and be careful there will be no dust on your base or polish or gel otherwise with chrome u will see very clear. Hope i did help you
+Joe Giovanetti Thanks for answering! I have no experience with a peel off base :)
Absolutely no problem i really enjoy your way to explain because I'm a teacher too and when i saw beautiful nails but no description how to reach that goals for me is waste of time so i appreciate your work
+Joe Giovanetti Thank you! I agree! I try to explain in as much detail as I can :)
Thank you Joe Giovanetti !
Im having trouble with the chrome peeling from the tip. Can u let me know the cure timer?
When you apply your top coat, ensure that you cap the end of your nail. If you're still having issues, applying two top coats might be the way to go.
If you’re suggesting to wipe alcohol over the nail anyways then why does the top coat have to be “no wipe”?
Do I have to have a led machine or can I just let it air dry?
You HAVE to get a led/uv light
how lonh did you cure the no wipe and what brand did you use
+Connesha Posey hi! I used Luxa Shine. Cure in LED for 30-60 (base on your light) seconds or UV for 2 minutes
Please post where to purchase the Valentino Dust Extractor. Thanks! 💅
+Lucky Lucy Ricardo hi! Www.valentinobeautypure.com
Thanks!!
I bought the chrome from bps and it was really bad quality hence the price
Can u make a gd chrome design without hard Gel
our chromes probably won't work well with non-gel products since that's what they're designed for 🖤🖤🖤 - g
+Tiffany Moore what top coat did you use?
+LuxaPolish gelaze, that didn't work so i purchased opi infinite.
+Tiffany Moore you need a no wipe top coat for the chrome to work
+LuxaPolish thought so. im having a hard time finding it in stores. looks like it's only available online for purchase.
+Tiffany Moore they only sell no wipe top coats online that I've seen. I will be releasing one soon ;)
What too coat did you use. I purchased the same chrome you have from the same company. I used some too coats but after it just looks like glitter polish the chrome is gone.
+NINA DUFRESNE Hi! I used Luxa Shine.
Thank you for showing me how to do this I have been trying for weeks to do it they all forget to tell you about a no wipe top coat is needed lol 😆
yesss I've been waiting for this video!!!!😍😍😍😍😍
+Genesis Rashid lol Thank you doll!
+LuxaPolish welcome and are those your real nails?!.
+Genesis Rashid No they aren't. I just put some acrylics on the other day ;)
LuxaPolish oh okay!! :))
What brand top coat do you recommend. When I got this done in a salon, it did not come out shiny like chrome, it was dull. I hear that the coat is important please advise?
+Niecy DMS Hi! I used Luxa Shine.
W0W! You have gorgeous nails to begin with! I've tried using rubbing alcohol to whipe off before applying the powder but it doesn't seem to help at all. I wonder why?
+reenie rae Hi! Thank you! What kind of top coat are you using? Alcohol needs to be isopropyl alcohol 91% or higher. Hope that helps some
I'm using a no whipe top coat.
+reenie rae I know with Luxa Shine no wipe you need to use 91% isopropyl alcohol to get pigments to stick....other brands I'm not sure if it needs that. It's just a suggestion to try
Luxapolish Hmmm. I'm pretty positive I'm using 91% alcohol. Maybe it doesn't coincide with the top coat I'm using. I'll try another one. Thanks!
+reenie rae it also good be the pigment you are using.. ? The thicker/bigger particle pigments didn't seem to work....at all...with or without alcohol. I think those kind of pigments are meant to be rubbed into the tacky layer of the cured gel.
Love your nails! I have a question. How long would I let my no wipe top coat cure in a 48 watt UV LED lamp? Thanks in advance :)
+Toni Jones hi! It depends in the brand no wipe coat your are using. I would guess 60 seconds is a safe bet
Its that bcause the topcoat quality or there is a step that i need to know?
can you please tell which produces do you use??
Aneliya Angelova - They're in the description box.
So no top coat over the pigment? How long does it stay?
+Leah hi! I used Luxa shine over the pigment.
Luxapolish thanks! No wipe right? I was wondering if maybe you could answer this or tell me if this is correct, but I did my gel nails yesterday, no wipe top coat. I'm getting the pigment in the mail today so can I just rub it on top of my manicure and then seal with the top coat?
+Leah yes. Wipe your nails with alochol and then apply powder. The powder should stick. Dust off excess and top coat with a no wipe. :)
what do you mean with a "no wipe coat"?
+Dely Muniz Hi. You still need to use a no wipe gel top coat over the chrome. After you cure gel it has a tacky/sticky layer that needs to be wiped off with alcohol. With a no wipe Top Coat it doesn't leave that tacky residue
Once the polish cools down after the warmth of the lights the powder won't stick any more
yeah I used gel polish n I don't touch water a lot. My lamp is 36watts UV. Wat could ve caused that
+Becky bex what brand top coat and pigments did you use? Also keeping your layers of the no wipe top coat is key
+Becky bex *thin
