Watching a 38 year old veteran of the sport making a come back for an Olympics in which he will be 40 years old at the time… is nothing less than fucking beautiful. Good luck champ !
Jesus, Lu is 38? I haven't followed Olympic weightlifting for very long but you could've convinced me he was in his mid to late 20s
That ain't happening,, bro you going to pick lu over zhiyong at 73 kg ,,, lu mother won't pick him over zhiyong at 73 kg ...
@@AnthonyGarcia-sy3yk haha zhiyong the god
I thought weightlifting was no longer an Olympic sport?
@@mrwires232 paris 2024 still in and the problem is for the 2028 .... more positive test that a underground hore race ... but if everybody gets clean for real the super heavy would be clean and jerk 200 kg hahah 😅
struggling with 170kg squat just over a month ago, and now doing 200kg with a pause! strength coming back quick. love seeing this stuff.
Insane muscle memory
@@fullizzat4069 😁😁
Proper coaching at its finest
Muscle Memory + PEDs = extreme gains
@@HM-qe9pd tell me who's clean in this sport?
One day soon he will retire - and we his fans will love looking back at these vids
Not so soon he prepares to compete at 2024 olympics so at least 1 or 2 more years
@@es-ck6eu Holmes, is that you?
@@Yyyyyyyyyyyy86 explorer is that you
Crazy how "out of shape" he is compared to competition form but you can see that base layer of insanely developed muscle in his back. Like a bedrock layer of development that only comes from a lifetime of training. That kind of base layer strength is why older lifters can still be very competitive in static events - that base layer is so powerful even if it is harder to keep mass as you age.
It’s really fascinating watching the veteran on his path again! I actually really enjoy the background music too, it builds up the energy well!
Looks happy this week. Got past the starting frustration and starting to feel better training. Smiling Lu is a strong one
bro training for 7 weeks and now stronger than 99% of the population lol
Muscle memory from literally being top 0.00001 of the population
You can do it too. You can reach your 1 rep max within 6 weeks of training even if you rested for 2 years assuming your program is 3 to 4 days a week. I stopped for 2 years came back, strength were still there but I was grinding cause I lack training but within 6 weeks I hit a new PR lol.
@@Mikey-uu8fi No you can't unless you were weak AF to begin with ( which is probably your case ) or on massive PED's.
If you could reach your PR and even beat it in 6 weeks after a 2 years break programming wouldn't even exist and pro athletes would never train until 6 weeks out to their big events/competitions.
Stop spewing BS & projecting your average weak Joe performance on world class/elite level athletes.
ps : Lu only stopped for a year, is on most likely back on PED's and has started to train for 7 weeks now...
How has he not hit a new PR ? He is like at 75% at best of his best level, you should give his coach a call asap to explain these stupid Chinese athletes how to train !
@@Mikey-uu8fi This is nowhere near his 1 rep max
@@Mikey-uu8fi But he is still at like 60-65% of his 1rm
This week seems to focus on ramping up lu’s leg strength, lots more sets and reps in the back squats and lots of heavy rack dips.
And that smile, that damn smile. He's strong!
after Lu wins his 4th gold in a roll next in Paris, we will look back at 1.5 years ago when there as a time the whole training hall was watching and rooting for him to stand up with 120 kg snatch
I love Lu as much as everyone else but you seem to be forgetting the one person he has to beat to be chosen for Paris…
@@clintiacuone1703 I know right? The Wocao champion is not to be underestimated.
@@Donsaholic a peak shape Lu at this new body weight against a peak shape shi will be a good battle to watch but I still see shi coming out on top!
I think he’s dropping it on purpose.
that 180kg looking smooth as butter
As long as you jeep them coming I will watch every single one of those videos. Great to be part of that journey!
Leeettsss goooo!!! Please keep the videos coming. So inspiring and great to see this footage from a living legend. This is by far some of the best content out right now
I love that i always smiles through out his workout
This is the best series ever - i am just going into the gym trying to be better everytime and this stuff is so motivation - thank you
Keep it coming man! He has fast become one of my favourite all time lifters. a few years ago, i didnt care too much. Like i knew who he was, and how good he was, but he was just another lifter...Now after seeing literally all your content on him, the training hall stuff, the interviews...Easily one of my favourites! Great to see him coming back here.
One of the great things about watching these videos is the amused look on his face when he struggles to squat a weight he used to clean...just like these times is the wildest....great to see the entire come back every week
Muscle memory and accumulation is a beautiful thing. Go well on the journey sir
I’d pay top dollar to watch this as a three hour long movie at a big theatre 😎🤙🏼👌🏽👏🏼. Simply outstanding and very inspiring . Thank You for sharing this with us mere garage beings!

Same
Don't bother, you will always be small and weak
I love how these guys don't play around with their training. No matter who's being recorded, you'll see or hear(shi 🤣) your favorite lifters in the background.

HE IS STLL REGAINING HIS STREGHT ..AWESOME

Amazing how a weight lifter can prolong his career this long!
I like seeing the expression on his coach’s face
Monster!
Holy shit, he's actually going to do it
8:46 The back remembers
Watching those 200 kilo lifts without a spotter is slightly terrifying
The king is back
8:13 could be straight from a gym fail compilation 😮
1.32 who is that ripped damn lifter in the back? Wuah! Also it's amazing to follow the weekly progress of Lu. My absolutely favorite in the weightlifting world.
Insane how fast the strength comes back
Holy shit, inspiring.
Como me inspira ver esto hno, que lindo es el deporte
He's filling out more and more.
LU: starts doing dips
Me: is he having trouble doing dips? dang...
Next camera angle pans
Me: oh...
This is the most inspiring shit I've ever seen.
Es un Mazinger.
PLEASE IN THE FUTURE INCLUDE SOME CHEN LIJUN CLEAN AND JERKS, IT'S GREAT TO SEE HIM IN ACTION!!!!
What a monster
I thought this dude was like 20 i never seen him before, i like his mobility work
He’s coming back so quickly! This is god tier genetics for weightlifting
God tier genetics and vitamin S ;)
literally the first time I've seen Lu do over 3 reps in any of the bigger lifts
Warrior
It’s like watching a movie
MUSIC: Cutting the Line, Hampus Naeselius
You should add the link to the music in the video description.
The ultimate dad bod!
nice
freak of nature
加油!
To speculation about PEDs: many modern weightlifting records have not surpassed records from the 70’s despite larger populations, greater athlete recruitment and better coaching. No evidence of PEDs
Greater athlete recruitement? The sport is at its worst state since the 70s, it litterally dying what are you talking about
If i can't lift as much as they do, they must be doing PEDs
Cool
can't imagine what everyday actions must feel like when you train with such high weights all the time. Like he must be flying when going up the stairs?
his form is what really impresses me, i try to copy every single detail. 🤣
Amazing stuff man! All your vids are so well done and very helpful. I was wondering if you could answer a question for me. Have you ever used any of these custom meal plan tools? I got one from Next Level Diet to help me add some muscle and I actually like their plans. Was just wondering if you've heard of or tried any of them yourself. Thanks man!
his core strength mate
Love these videos. Needs a better camera. Looking strong.
That shit is therapeutic
Those front squats were insane. Goddamn I need to work more on those.
Damn he got muscle back fast
That pause
Wait, should I be getting straps to lift just the bar as well?
Amazing video, but please no music next time! Sounds of barbell and weights are way better!
Bring my boi to our BBQ, we gonna make sure he eats!!!!
Fuck fuck why did I watch this I was meant to rest
