I can’t believe this entire video, all 1 and a half hours of comedy, pathos, and beautiful narration and observation, was just the set up for an incredible “your mom” joke. Amazing. Also, this video finally made me accept that between ATLA and Legend of Korra, Mai and Zuko broke up, because uh, wow their relationship was *not* the most stable or even that deep.
This is, of course, hilarious & fabulous & satisfying. However, hot damn you really also struck the emotional notes in an impressively poignty way. The whiteboard starts out like a simple prop, but the way eventually honor is all that's left really poetically fits how his honor was there all along & not derived from the other figures in his life. And then the surprise after that is just extra artful, really creates a subtle moment of snap-to-awareness that neatly facilitates the abrupt & sincere emotional tone shift befitting the scene. Spectacular use of simple visual storytelling. The soft subtle audio shifts are super helpful for creating a sense of chapteriness, too, without having to ever slow the pace. And some of the ways you condense/comment on/act certain bits really capture the character in the core honest loving way that the best satire necessitates. Love this, thanks for putting in so much work & personality & making this excellent video!

Agreed.
Can even use the same wig.
THAT WOULD BE PERFECTION
Zuko, a teen boy, making a "That's what she said" joke is hilarious.
My stupid ass laughed so hard when you showed that picture of Azula with the voiceover saying "there's just something off."
i always think about when that guy went into the shop and accused clearly traumatised refugees (one of wich was injured by the fire nation) of being firebenders, probably most clients at the shop thought he was an asshole
1:19:12 I love how you did Zukos thoughts on Kataras badassery in that episode 😭😭
Alternative Title:
Fire Lord Zuko teaches history at a surprise school appearance, parents were too stunned to speak…
(And yes, I am implying that one day Zuko woke up and remembered the Ember Island Players rendition of his life and decided that it was his priority, and that he needs to set the record straight, and so it just kind of happened that his audience ended up being a group of 10 year olds from a school closest to the palace)
I'll rewatch this for the sole sake of counting how many times and when Zuko says "honor".
"HONOR" COUNTER:
~ 0:43 - #1 - "...he'd restore the most important thing in the world to me, my *honor* ."
~ 0:49 - #2 - "...but if anyone could find him, that would be me, because my *honor* depended on it."
~12:19 - #? - "First off, I don't want to hear his sh*t, if it would be about *honor* that would be a different story, anyway..."
~ 14:12 - #? - "... I tell her I need to find the avatar to restore something that I lost, my *honor* ..."
~ 17:17 - #? - "... I'm not any closer to regaining my *honor* than I was weeks ago ..."
~ 27:39 - #? - "... now I've lost it all: the avatar, my throne, my *honor* ..."
~ 29:00 - #? - "Okay, I believe she did, but how dare she lie about my *honor* !"
~ 31:00 - #? - "... I have to find him to restore my *honor* ."
~ 31:55 - #? - "... there's a simple *honor* in poverty ..."
~ 32:24 - #? - "... I still don't have my *honor* , because ..."
~ 39:31 - #? - "... and says it's an *honor* to welcome such ..."
~ 42:27 - #? - "... because my *honor* depended on it."
~ 43:24 - #? - "... well, I want my *honor* ."
~ 46:28 - #? - "... my *honor* back."
~ 47:43 - #? - "... what if he doesn't restore my *honor* ?"
~ 47:48 - #? - "... today I restored my own *honor* ."
~ 47:49 - #? - "... I restored my *honor* ."
~ 48:15 - #? - "... with my *honor* ."
~ 48:53 - #? - "... not accomplished, but apparently I still get my *honor* ."
~ 50:07 - #? - "... while I chose *honor* ."
~ 58:07 - #? - "... that it was my *honor* that I ..."
~ 1:10:28 - #? - "... his *honor* ..."
~ 1:10:31 - #? - "... you got me at *honor* ...."
~ 1:23:50 - #? - "... with unquestionable *honor* ..."
~ 1:23:58 - #? - "... and restored my *honor* ..."
~ 1:24:01 - #? - "... restore the *honor* of the Fire Nation."
~ 1:26:56 - #? - "... and I promise to restore the *honor* of the Fire Nation."
SHORTEST TIME BETWEEN "HONOR"S: ~ 1 second
LONGEST TIME BETWEEN "HONOR"S: ~ 13 minutes 29 seconds
Edit: WHYYYYYY, I WAS AT "HONOR" #8 THEN IT GOT DELETED FOR SOME REASON *angry noises* NOW I HAVE TO START OVER. WHATEVER, I'LL DO THIS ANOTHER DAY.
Genuinely still one of my favourite videos to play in the background when I'm doing something
i never thought of zuko not knowing the gaang's names and its hilarious. these videos are great
So at first I was like, I'm going to watch this for a little bit and then add this to watch later as I always do with long videos, but apparently I've just watched the whole thing. It's absolutely hilarious and I love it. Good job 👌
Literally same
Same!
this feels like being on facetime with zuko lmao
Zuko 's firebending abilities develop as the series goes on but what makes him strong is his fighting abilities
Most of the benders depend on their bending but there was a time were zuko only used his swordman abilities.
Zuko’s ability to catch a full grown man with one arm while hanging onto a ladder with the other is the most insane upper body strength feat in the entire series, and yes that includes korra and her godly back muscles 😂
The not blinking eye contact is so accurate 😭 😭
Great Zuko costume! The scar’s on the wrong side, though
THE SCAR IS NOT ON THE WRONG SIDE!!!
it's literally not though????
@@m00n_beetle It's a reference to a chapter where a boy tells Zuko that his scar is on the wrong side because he thought it was a Zuko costume.
@@sophiablackthorn oh my god i completely forgot about that 😭 it's been a while since i was fully submerged in the fandom 🫠
next time maybe use /ref though? just a suggestion, of course 😊
No its right
Your humour is unmatched, great video as always!
"...but more importantly, a hundred years later things got a lot worse for me, personally when I realized my father didn't love me."
“If I wanted to know where the avatar **was** I’d ask Zhao” XD
Avatar is my comfort show and this is my comfort UA-cam video.
I forgot how funny zuko looked when aang told him he was pretty smart I love his little smile
This video has quickly become my comfort video. I’m on my fourth watch right now and it never fails to make me feel better. So, truly, thank you so much for making this video, it definitely makes nights like these a bit easier to get through…
i seriously can't express how much your comment means to me. thank *you* my dude
@@AmandaTodhunterOfficial I'm glad. I wrote it after a pretty difficult day and I really hoped it might mean something to you just like this video means something to me, so I'm really happy it did
I still laugh that Zuko did a good thing and ended up in angst coma!!!
This makes you realize how little Zuko was actually there at the start, also that face when the mom said she doesn’t know where hw for a knife from 😂 exactly how I imagine it
"That makes two of us, at least"
ZUKO NOOOOO
I was multitasking and I haven't even realized I've watched the entire 1,5 hours. So entertaining, thank you!
Drinking game? Sip for every “honor”said? 💃🏻 getting drunk tonight
are you still alive?
More like get sent to ER tonight 😂
I love how you take the puzzle down, and then rebuild it.
Really, very very good 💕
…”Then we both slice off our top knots and drop ‘em into the river.”
LITERAL GOLD 😂
"When i realized my family didn't love me" oh zuko baby
"caterpillar pig" is THE animal fusion i need to see, it needs to be big like appa too
I’m not gonna sit here and watch this video for an hour and a half cuz I have the attention span of a goldfish bud just from your cosplay I can tell it is very accurate 😂😂❤️
This feels like it should have come out in 2012 and have 5 million views nice job
This feels like Zuko's journal
Dude I just had an hour and a half of a workout session while listening to this and it was the best decision of my life. Absolute mad props to you for filming this all it was so well thought out and this would be exactly how Zuko would narrate it thank you for this masterpiece
I love how Zuko just doesn’t know anyone’s names. And also, he refers to Toph as the Earthbending toddler! Does he even know she’s blind? I kinda doubt it until years down the line😂
The heart behind the honor sign made me laugh really hard, though that was probably not the intended effect.
