@@MyFavoriteFWord Hello. Chia seeds~ full of protein, calcium, iron, Omega3 fatty acids: stirred into the boiled fruit🍓🍓🍓after taken off the burner. Will thicken sauce a tiny bit more, when allowed to rest a few minutes. Just so much more nutrients 👍
Three tips. 1. When you make your fruit "preserve" do not use any sweetener at all. Instead, add chia seeds to the berries, 1 tablespoon for 1 lb of berries will do. Also, a bit of ground nuts - walnuts, almonds or hazel - just 1 tbsp will add nice creamy nutty flavor, and chia seeds will thicken it. 2. If you use yogurt, sour cream, farmer/cottage/ricotta cheese in your pancake batter, it makes sense to use baking soda, not baking powder. Soda is more active in the presence of sour dairy products and it makes the pancakes fluffier and softer. 3. I normally use a mix of ground oats and oat bran - love the texture!
One more thing. If you get tired of strawberries, try ripe juicy persimmons - no sweetener, just chia seeds, maybe nuts and just a bit of water. Persimmons are tangy, they have character, plus all the benefits of carotene and antioxidants.

I tried these today. Soo good, thank you so much! To save some time, I processed the apples at low speed, till I got small pieces, not a puree. It worked perfectly. I used non fat plain greek yogurt and added extra vanilla. Will be making these often, for sure. Thank you!!
I made a half recipe using the sliced apple version and used non fat plain yogurt. The lemon rind was brilliant to enhance the apple flavor. Very good and would make again.
I love this recipe concept! I do not eat sugar at all (except in small amounts of fruit) and no fake sugars either, although the monkfruit and berry sauce sounds great. So I will try the recipe with whole fat plain greek yogurt (more protein) and no added sugar. BTW, it is better to leave the yolk in because the yolk has more protein by weight.
Wonderful recipe! I used ground oats, applesauce, Greek yogurt, vanilla extract and no sugar a low-calorie vanilla almond milk. I didn’t use eggs. I put a bit of baking powder as well. It turned out amazing. I made them very thin and small. I put a bit of cream cheese, and no sugar jam and it was a lovely breakfast. Thank you for this inspiration.😊 Ps I also substituted mashed very ripe bananas instead of applesauce, for another batch, and it was even better. On those ones I topped them with peanut butter and sliced bananas.😊

Swap the apples for 2x well ripened bananas (which means it's not necessary to use any artificial sweetener) and this makes delicious pancakes. Up the protein and sprinkle seeds and/or chopped nuts. Very well balanced healthy pancakes
Meh, the obsession with carbs. It's all about BALANCE. Its well known that the body needs all THREE types of carbohydrates. They reach contain necessary nutrients. It's a question of balance. Just like everything in life, carbs are not the enemy!
I just made them and they're really yummy! Don't worry, the apples naturally sweeten the pancakes so you really don't need to add anything. The natural flavours come out. Unfortunately I didn't have any vanilla essence so I know that it will enhance it next time. They are delicious so I will be making them again. ❤ Thank you for sharing! 🙏🙏

Hi, I just got diagnosed and have been finding it difficult to find anything to eat... have you got any ideas to help me out or point me towards where I can find help. Thank you.
as a diabetic, you do need healthy oils to slow down metabolizing of the carbs. oats and apples have carbs that turn to sugar which spike your blood glucose. it’s not only sugar and flour you should stay away from, good luck, and do your own research from respectable sources
I'm very picky eater. I'm in love with these!! I did the shredded apples and added cinnamon and 2 tsp of vanilla instead of 1. I also topped with about 1 tsp reduced fat peanut butter. It was amazing! Oh I used a little bit of baking soda instead of baking powder and added protien powder.
Thanks for sharing this delicious recipe! I am from Austria and eating pancakes for breakfast is not really that much of a thing here, most people have brown bread or a toasted slice of white bread with spread and different toppings (ham, salami, cheese, peppers, other veggies etc). However since having had gestational diabetes during pregnancy I started to look for healthy alternatives and I been eating porridge for like a year now. I been wanting to change it up a bit and stumbled upon your video. Will definitely make those more often now!
@@timeak6307 Thanks, I do have them sometimes as I've heard they are the healthiest form of oats. They taste alright to me, I do prefer Porridge personally.

Loved the concept here! I adapted the recipe to my taste, making it keto too. Used apple sweet(with cinnamon, clove, star anise), separated it in 2 whites and 2 yolks. Beated the whites until soft peaks, beated yolks with vanilla extract and cream cheese. Then added almond flour into the yolk part and mixed gently with the whites so the air bubbles wont escape. Mixed with the apples and then made the pancakes. The texture and flavor were amazing, just like a sweet apple cloud. And roughly less than 20g of carbs per 100g I'd say.
Would you describe "apple sweet" a little more? What is it, and how can it be divided into 2 whites and 2 yolks? I guess you were talking about eggs there. But what is apple sweet? Just a normal apple maybe?
@@Lawman212 Its kinda like that Mcdonalds apple pie filling. I boiled the apples with spices. Yeah, my bad. The egg part has nothing to do with the apples Instead of beating everything together, I beated the whites separately, so they make the texture fluffy. But I had to fold gently with the other ingredients, kinda like a macaron recipe.
My sweetheart was born in Bydgoszcz Poland and liked sharing foods his mother always made and that he loved. I noticed a love of apples in some of those recipes but the one I couldn’t quite get over was diced fresh apples and sour cream on a baked potato. The foods we grow up with stay with us for a lifetime so this is how he liked to eat baked potato just as I did a loaded version with sour cream, chives/green onion, and butter. His version was more healthy! As I learned about his chicken soup with parsnips (not so easily found by us), pierogies (who doesn't love those?!), and pigs in a blanket I started to realize that some of his favorite dishes were not unlike those of my mother's who had lived around a diverse community of Jews, Poles, and Hungarians in the state of Ohio. America is a melting pot of not only people but great foods such as this and I embrace them as she did. For me, it's a little bit of home too.
I can't eat flour, so I've been making pancakes with ground oats like this for several years. I use unsweetened apple sauce and a few teaspoons of baking powder. Or, a couple bananas mashed with a fork into apple sauce consistency. Some cinnamon doesn't hurt either.
@@sandrahudziec723 NP.. I grind rolled oats in a blender. Not too powdery, I personally like a little texture. Sorta cornmeal ish. Doesn't matter, however you like it. My baking powder tends to sit cause I don't use it often, so I use extra. I also eyeball a lot so I'll try to be accurate as I can. Room temp eggs helps, but not totally necessary. Here is my ingredients: 1-1/2 C ground oatmeal, 8th tsp salt, 1-2 tsp baking powder, 2 tsp cinnamon, 2 lg eggs scrambled, 1 C apple sauce or 2 lg bananas mashed, 2 tbs melted coconut oil or butter, 1 tsp vanilla. Mix dry ing, mix wet ing, mix wet and dry ing. It usually comes out thick, so I add milk (almond, coconut, dairy, doesn't matter) until pancake consistency. makes approx half doz decent size cakes. You can add chopped walnuts and/or chocolate chips if you want. I usually sprinkle with a little nutmeg after cooking and heat up frozen blueberries with maple syrup in the microwave. Yum!
@@PaulaDiaz-z9q Ok.. It's a long time since I made this, so hope I got it right... 1.5 cups rolled oats in food processor or blender until flouryish, mix with 1/4 tsp salt and 2 tsp B powder, 1 - 2 tsp cinnamon ... Mix together 1 cup apple sauce or 2 - 3 bananas mashed (bout 1 c) with 2 beaten eggs, 2 tbsp oil or melted butter, Blend all ingredients together, mix in whatever milk you use until pancake batter consistency. Cook and Eat.

I used Bob's red mill gluten free flour and used apple sauce and they turned out great! Didn't add egg whites either. I topped them with fresh sliced strawberries and blueberries too.
I never knew it was a Polish thing to have pancakes with apples. My family is Polish and we'd have pancakes with apples and sometimes on Sunday night. We'd have a big meal after church and dinner was something light like this. We'd just cut the apples in chunks. I'll try this way! Haven't had pancakes with apples in a LONG time!
We have a lot of Polish recipes in my family because of how close they lived to the Polish border in Ukraine. They are the best! Apple pancakes were my favorite and now when I make them I dice the apples so that there are little chunks in each delicious bite!!
I love how you eat what you made after it’s done and also give your critique. That is the part missing in all the cooking videos I have seen. I’m subscribed to your channel now. And going to make this pancake recipe right now. 😊

First of all, I would like to thank you for the delicious and healthy recipes. I always find it difficult to find something, because many of the recipes that you follow don't feel like they work at all. Pancakes won't turn or something isn't done, but the recipe tastes really good, folks. The pancakes taste great with or without a topping. Good and sweet, although I didn't use any sweetener. It's really just the apples.
Thanks for sharing this wonderful pancake recipe. I love pancakes but I’m diabetic and can’t eat flour pancakes. This recipe is a real blessings, sooo good and low GI. Looking forward for more recipes of you. Love your voice too
I made these last night for my dinner. They were wonderful. I followed the recipe exactly except for the baking powder. I took the suggestion of another comment and added 3/4 teaspoon of baking soda. I put an all fruit jam (no added sugar) on them instead of cooking strawberries down. They browned up beautifully just like in the video. I made the entire batch so I can have the three leftover ones for dinner again tonight. Fat free Greek yogurt plain worked well. I added 1 tsp vanilla to make up for the lack of vanilla flavor in the yogurt. This recipe is a keeper. Thanks!

Sounds delicious! I would add cinnamon. Such a healthy ingredient!
I tried these today. Soo good, thank you so much! To save some time, I processed the apples at low speed, till I got small pieces, not a puree. It worked perfectly. I used non fat plain greek yogurt and added extra vanilla. Will be making these often, for sure. Thank you!!
I am so glad you liked them🙂 I use non fat plain greek yogurt too, both work well👌
I made a half recipe using the sliced apple version and used non fat plain yogurt. The lemon rind was brilliant to enhance the apple flavor. Very good and would make again.
it makes me happy you like them 😊 and appreciate the lemon zest flavor as much as I do😉
I love this recipe concept!
👌
Grains break down into sugar.
Thank you for this inspiration.😊
Ps I also substituted mashed very ripe bananas instead of applesauce, for another batch, and it was even better. On those ones I topped them with peanut butter and sliced bananas.😊
Sounds great! thank you for sharing👌
I made these pancakes using coconut flour and milk because that's what I had on hand. They turned out delicious!! Thank you for the recipe!!

@@Sewsweet08Australia thats a good idea, almond flour is good too. You can even try mixing garbanzo and buckwheat flours
Swap the apples for 2x well ripened bananas (which means it's not necessary to use any artificial sweetener) and this makes delicious pancakes. Up the protein and sprinkle seeds and/or chopped nuts. Very well balanced healthy pancakes
👌
Meh. Bananas up the carb intake of the recipe. Swap the apples for chayote squash and that’s an innovator.
Meh, the obsession with carbs. It's all about BALANCE. Its well known that the body needs all THREE types of carbohydrates. They reach contain necessary nutrients. It's a question of balance. Just like everything in life, carbs are not the enemy!
Swapping apples for bananas mean it's no longer apple pancakes which is what the video is about.
@@nram1 WOW, you don't say 🤣 stunning observation! and..........?
I just made them and they're really yummy! Don't worry, the apples naturally sweeten the pancakes so you really don't need to add anything. The natural flavours come out. Unfortunately I didn't have any vanilla essence so I know that it will enhance it next time. They are delicious so I will be making them again. ❤

Are the egg whites also in this recipe with 2 whole eggs or when you wrote 3 tablespoons of egg whites you meant as a substitute???
Came through my feed 2 hours ago…. Had all ingredients on hand and enjoyed them 1 hour ago! Fits the bill for my pancake Jones, accented with my favorite fruit. I added some fresh melon with the apples. Nice addition! Will add black and blueberries tomorrow. Love this flexible delicious recipe.
incredible how quick you made them !😂 thank you for sharing👌
Did you have the extra egg whites on hand, and did you need them:? That's what I'll never have.
@@saintejeannedarc9460 I buy egg whites in little containers in Costco. I add them to my breakfast and oatmeal to increase protein in my diet. If you don't buy those, just use an egg, it adds more calories but whole eggs are healthy
@@saintejeannedarc9460 I never have those extra either. Going to try without and if the mixture is tto thick, I’ll add some milk. Or extra yoghurt which I’m substituting with kefir since I love that.

This recipe is great! I just put the apple in the food processor, used 3 eggs instead of eggs and whites, and they averaged 87 calories. I had some home made applesauce which I used on top instead of syrup. They are fluffy and don't have the gross protein powder taste. Thanks

Hi, I just got diagnosed and have been finding it difficult to find anything to eat... have you got any ideas to help me out or point me towards where I can find help. Thank you.
@@omadjourney just see how your body responds. Both apples and oats can be hard on your sugar.
Me too. I will eat these instead of cookies as a treat 😋!
as a diabetic, you do need healthy oils to slow down metabolizing of the carbs. oats and apples have carbs that turn to sugar which spike your blood glucose. it’s not only sugar and flour you should stay away from, good luck, and do your own research from respectable sources

I am glad this recipe will help you mix things up😊 In Poland where I grew up we ate similar breakfasts

And roughly less than 20g of carbs per 100g I'd say.
thank you so much for the tips. There are alot of people that could use keto/low carb friendly version👍
The egg part has nothing to do with the apples
Instead of beating everything together, I beated the whites separately, so they make the texture fluffy. But I had to fold gently with the other ingredients, kinda like a macaron recipe.
@@jonnymario771 oh, I know exactly what you mean now. Thanks so much. I was looking for a keto version of this recipe. This sounds good.
Thank you, I'm glad you commented, i was asking about the almond or coconut flour as well😊
My sweetheart was born in Bydgoszcz Poland and liked sharing foods his mother always made and that he loved.
Sounds great👍
How many teaspoons of baking powder did you use and how many bananas did you use sounds good Huggy Bear you answer thank you I know this is old video
Yum!
You didn't say how much oats or how much
@@PaulaDiaz-z9q Ok..
Finally a recipe for pancakes with oatmeal!

As someone who has recently learned that I am diabetic, I am struggling because I love sugar. I am so glad I found you.
I am glad too 🤗
I never knew it was a Polish thing to have pancakes with apples. My family is Polish and we'd have pancakes with apples and sometimes on Sunday night. We'd have a big meal after church and dinner was something light like this. We'd just cut the apples in chunks. I'll try this way! Haven't had pancakes with apples in a LONG time!
My grandparents cut the apples in chunks too, we would eat them with just regular sugar on top. 🤓
We have a lot of Polish recipes in my family because of how close they lived to the Polish border in Ukraine. They are the best! Apple pancakes were my favorite and now when I make them I dice the apples so that there are little chunks in each delicious bite!!
