    I have an MSc in Clinical Psych from India and I am moving to the UK for an MSc in Health Psychology soon. I wish to know if I will have the option to seek job opportunities as an assistant clinical psychologist after my master's there. Also, it'd be really helpful if you could provide some insights or tips on seeking placement for Stage 2 health psychology training. Lastly, I am curious to know if PhD programs offer a stipend or any financial support?

    This is great! I'm intrigued by the comments you made around placement, is your private practice able to generate evidence as well as your Occ health placement?

      Hi Zara, thanks for watching! And that's right, this technically means I have 2 placements which allows me to use evidence from both- this is quite useful as the private work lets me address a lot psychological intervention and teaching, whereas the Occupational health work lends itself well to the consultancy and research competencies :)

    I think health and psychology are very closely related with each other! If anyone think that he/she is not clearly well though he/she is fit then psychological disorder makes him/her sick day by day.

      I think you’re absolutely right Sonia! Many people aren’t too familiar with the way our psychological and physical health are connected! Thanks for watching 😊

    Hi, can an international student easily be able to get admitted for the stage 2 training in UK after masters ?
    Actually I'm planning my master's in Health Psychology in the UK but i am very sceptical if my career will be smooth later on? Can you please guide about how the career shapes for an international student after masters?

      Hi Sukhnoor! Thanks for the comment :)
      Stage 2 training is competitive in the UK and so I wouldn't say that getting onto Doctoral training is easy.
      That said, if you have completed your MSc in the UK, I can't see any barriers you would have to get onto stage 2 training. It's always worth checking the individual university requirements however.
      Best of luck!

    I am from Nepal, recently studying MPH (Global Health). I am also a psychosocial counselor. I have also worked in several schools regarding adolescent health and well being focusing on how our lifestyle affects mental health. if i do two year MA (Psychology), will i be a Health Psychologist?

      Hi! Well done, it sounds like you've got some great experience! I'm not familiar with the registration in Nepal, however in the UK you need to complete a Doctorate degree to call yourself a Health Psychologist. Therefore a MA or MSc wouldn't allow you to use this title :)
      Thanks for watching!

    So we need to complete a master's degree in Health Psy before completing a doctorate?

    • @dipclinic2239
      @dipclinic2239  6 місяців тому

      In the UK, yes :) You need to complete your MSc in Health Psychology before moving on to a doctorate in Health Psychology

    Are there ample job opportunities for health psychologists out there in the UK at the moment?

    • @dipclinic2239
      @dipclinic2239  3 місяці тому

      I would say so! All of the health psych's I know, I can't think of anyone who has had difficulty in finding jobs in their respective fields :)
