Thank you so much for this information! I had no idea these options existed so feel relieved that my options aren't restricted to the typical ones people go for
This is so helpful! As someone who will be entering final year in a few weeks, I have been getting my head around all possible jobs but was only aware to the more common ones like AP or PWP. Thank you for breaking them all down in a concise and helpful way!! X
TheOxfordPsych Yep! 😁 Although, when I say know - I have heard that they exist but haven’t looked into them properly yet, a little early for me. I’ll do more research nearer to graduation I think - specifically what’s available in my area (Manchester) as I won’t be able to relocate - mature student (28) with a partner and toddler at home, so not really an option. Just trying to gather information/guidance a little at a time as I go though my degree because I feel like I have no time to waste anymore 🙈. Really appreciate your videos, they are so informative and helpful - thank you for putting in the time and effort to help others 😊💜💜💜
You are so beautiful 🦋🌸 I love psychology I want to start studying after having two kids Do you know what is the quickest way any online course to start with because I can’t leave my house
Is CAP different from CAAP? Clinical associate in applied psychology, also not sure if this is only in Scotland perhaps? I thought of taking a break from care assistant and started navigating a whole other field finding it difficult to come back or get openings in psychology now. I am curious if I should explore Behavior mentor roles? My goal is CAAP, but international students it is tricky. Thank you for your video it is really helpful!
I’m going to start my psychology bachelors degree in September and I’ve always been interested in mental health, I don’t want to go down the doctorate root but I’d be fine doing a masters in clinical psychology. What jobs have good pay and also work around mental health?
^only go into psychiatry if you’re willing to spend 4 years converting to medicine, 2 years specialising in psychiatry and 6 years being a trainee. Check out the route psychiatry on the prospects website. Hope this helps :)
Thanks so much for this video! Would you say that these are good jobs to do to gain clinical experience before doing a doctorate in clinical psychology or are they more careers in their own right? :))
I honestly just love your videos Aika, they’re so informative! I’m doing my gcses now & I’m thinking of going into clinical psychology, but the career prospects really worry me. Does the salary and the oversaturated field make you regret the path you chose? It’s just that I still have a while to make a decision and I don’t want to go down a path that doesn’t have the best pay after having dedicated a lot of my life to training to be a clinical psychologist just because I like the subject at school. Thank you so much for all your help 💕 xx
Hey! No I don’t regret it. Though if salary is your prominent concern you may want to consider alternative routes given that financially it is a difficult path at least in the early years x
Hi Dear. I live in the UK and am studying for a Mental Health & Wellbeing Bachelors degree. I am in my second year and could you tell me if as I am in the second year, I can start applying for the positions you've said in the video? Thank you for your video.
I am a health care worker in mental health. Very demanding, psychologically draining job, wehre you will be required to clean, cook, shop.. etc... and treated like shit. Do you need to do your bachelor to be a residential "floor staff". ?
I have a Bsc in psychology and MSc in clinical psychology ,can I register with Hcpc with my qualification ? I have five years experience and I'm still practising
This video is sooo useful, thanks a lot!! Do you know whether it is very competitive to get into the CAP apprenticeship since there are only 3 universities offering the programme?
Hi! There is an option for a psychology conversion course which is a 1 year degree that brings you up to speed with a psychology graduate. This is one potential option
I graduated last summer.... it’s been one year exactly and I’m unemployed with a psychology degree. I wanna die. London the industrial wasteland and hell. Uni is a scam. I’ve given up 😂 like really or maybe I’m just doing soemthign wrong. Even the graduate positions I’ve applied for they want experience... we graduate to get the experience though 🥲😩😭😭😭
I feel you! I am a 3rd year psychology undergrad and I have been working as a support worker since I have started uni! Now I feel like I need to move from this however, there is nothing for undergrad or even graduate psychology students!
@@farina6616 wow Ngl it’s so much better that you have the experience of a support worker cause at least you have something for the cv and they are more likely to hire those familiar with clinical field rather than those who are undergraduate if that field but have no experience what so ever …. Aka me. I’d do anything to have position of support worker, girllll your so lucky this allows you develops and apply your self to other positions as for me they wouldn’t even trust me or give somone like me the chance. Your honestly in so much better position
@@katerinaberhami3770 Thank you! but I think you're being too hard on yourself. There are lots of support workers jobs around and some companies will not require any experience. So, keep your eyes peeled! I hope you find something!
Not quite, it's true that you are employed within the NHS or a mental health charity for courses like the CWP or EMHP, but these jobs are advertised just before applications for the uni courses open. You don't have to already be working in the NHS to apply for these posts and essentially apply for the NHS post alongside the uni course. You tend to automatically get on the uni course if you have secured a job.
Thanks for posting this. Its very informative indeed! Would be able to advise on career options after a Masters in Psychology conversion for an international student please? Thanks in advance.
They don’t suggest all these at uni cause they probably try to avoid the guilt in case things don’t go as you planned cause it’s competitive to get into clinical psychology doctorate-> only %20 of the applicants in UK gets in
Hello, I got my Masters in Psychology in INDIA and I want to become a Clinical Psychologist. I want to know from YOU if I do M. Phil in Clinical Psychology will it help me or not ?
As i have done Ms in clinical psychology from Pakistan and i am coming to uk as a student in msc in clinical sports psychology so as I reach there will i be able to start a job as clinical psychologist? Is there any requirements like license or any test.
Thank you so much for this! You should write a book one day !
I’m a vet with PTSD. I’m an INFP doing office work. I’m thinking of changing to mental health because of my personal struggles. Thanks for this.
Thaank you so much, this video definitely lessened my anxiety as a second year psychology student thinking about her future.. thank uu💕
This was super helpful, I've heard of a couple but not all of them! Cheers for this

Honestly , you’re amazing. So straight to the point and informative. We need more people like you who breaks things down.
Thank you xx

Heyyyy, I knew about 4 out of 6 of these! Not too shabby for a first year Psych undergrad 😁 Thank you, great video once again! Hope you’re well 😊 xx
No way! Very impressed 🥳 that’s 3 more than me from 3 weeks ago..

Can you please elaborate a bit about the bands in terms of salaries plus the scope of BCBAs ...are there enough jobs for international students ....

Would a Msc Psych conversion course be disadvantageous in comparison to a bachelors in Psych?

I have no idea, sorry! I don’t know a single person who’s been a CAP - they seem to be a rare breed!
Thank you again!!! This video was very very helpful!!!
P.S can you recommend websites other than NHS which can help look for these jobs?
Indeed is a good site !

Hey, these are really good suggestions, however an EMHP doesn't require a degree as entry requirements
Cool! Thanks for the correction
We all needed a degree for my EMHP PG Diploma course that I'm doing now 🤔

Half of these jobs require you to be already working in the NHS to gain a training place. So a bit pointless.
