BrainTap Review: I Used This Headset for 3 Weeks

This video is not sponsored. I borrowed the headset from the company to review and returned it after making this video. I do not receive any income from sales of the headset.
Can you "tap the full potential of your brain's power" with this headset?
The makers say using BrainTap can reduce stress and worry, enhance sleep, have you waking up feeling energized, let you "reach deeper meditative states without years of disciplined practice" - and more.
The headphones and visor have lights inside that are meant to help alter your brain state (for the better) as you relax with your eyes closed whilst listening to the sound of guided visualization audio-sessions on the BrainTap Pro app.
I used the headset every day for three weeks and I put a LOAD of questions to the inventor for you; Dr Patrick Porter.
This video includes: my likes and dislikes about the headset and app, plus Dr Porter talking brainwaves, neuroplasticity, dementia, language skills, dancing and fire engines… it all makes sense when you watch.

My braintap headset broke within 2 weeks and I have been asking for help for over 6 weeks now Their customer service is utterly useless, so I have asked for a refund. They say Im beyond the 45 days in which I can claim a refund which is completely unfair. Plus I dont think the huge battery in the earpiece can be very good as you can feel it burning your ear. I am emailing them daily and asking for a response from the manager and still they ignore me, this is disgusting for a bundle costing around £600.

@@lloydnorval1989 In fairness, I have to say that I refused to let this go as it was SO expensive, I did get a replacement after daily emails for 3 months. ..! I found the email address for Dr Porter and said I would go public with my thoughts on social media. I am happy to say that it has really helped me with positive thinking and its my "happy place" when Im using it. Although the big battery in the earpiece does concern me and the customer service definitely needs massive improvement. I hope this helps : )

At 41:10 you talk about using regular headphones instead of the BrainTap headset, but actually show us using mini phones in your ears. You will not get the frequency responses that are generated using these mini headphones, but need to use a good quality set of headphones for best results. At 41:48 you mention that you get 10 audio tracks free. When I registered my headset I got 116 free tracks, and as you say many more packages at $9.99 month each.
I have had some minor issues with loss of blue flashing lights when an SMS comes through my phone with the beep, even when on flight mode. I have to switch my phone off and back on to reset the flashing blue lights. Not sure if this is what fixes it, but do have a problem restoring the flashing blue lights at times.
After one week I experienced a very sudden noticeable change in awareness and shift with increased energy levels.
This is no placebo effect, as someone below suggested, but a very good technology with science behind it.

Interesting comments about the price. If you go to a practitioner, as I know one who has used this in her practice for 15yrs, you would pay for the unit after 4 sessions with her. When owning the device, you have it forever...and the whole family can use it. I've heard some amazing testimonials from friends who own one.

LOL I have a childhood I could write a novel about, and a marriage with a narcissistic sociopath husband I could write a novel about. I still have a smile on my face, as God is in my heart, and I look at it as "I'm a survivor." Maybe they could add a subscription model which includes the headset and includes no nonsense insurance and returns. They could run it like a phone contract where you get a new headset every three years in exchange for the old one. That way the customer is protected from unknown build quality in the headset and also gets an upgrade. This would be a better way to keep people subscribed and more interested long term as you can go for the "one more thing" on the new headset rollout.

Another very interesting and amazing looking piece of tech health Hackers. The Brain Tap looks like it belongs in a Sci-Fi Movie. Despite this scenario, Dr Porter wants to remind us that along with the marvellous returns one gets from the BT headset, it really is designed with the natural rhythms we experience in nature in mind, like the flickering of the flames of a fire in a homely and comfortable setting. Fascinating explanations on how one can achieve 'neuroplasticity' in our brain, but also reminding us that we are light beings, beings of energy, which seems a rather spiritual look at this futuristic solution to all our stress problems, sleep deprivation, brain left and right hemisphere balance, energy-boosting and so on. I hope the airlines take an interest in this wonderful device. Long haul trips around the planet would be a truly wonderful experience. Thank you for sharing.

As the headset doesn't have noise canceling, it likely wouldn't work on planes and in noisy places (airports), as the loud ambient sound would drown it out. it might work well in those places with noise canceling headphones.

The App is free. The subscription is a monthly service. Either $9.99 or $29.99 depending on how many programs you want in your library.
I own 2 of these headsets. It is possible to use the software/programs without the headset however this works way better with the headset. I have had the headsets for over 6 months and use them every day, (at least once per day). This is not just a headset but in fact uses binaural beats and lights into ears and eyes. To get the best out of the service/headset it's best when you get the super set of programs. Total cost is headset plus $29.99 per month. There are deals where you can get 1 year included with the headset.
Free demo programs are only a taste of the programs. There are over 1500 programs in the entire subscription.
Using the app/programs without the BrainTap headset doesn't give anywhere near the same effect. The binaural beats are actually REMOVED from the BrainTap headset and sent to the lights in front of you but not when you use the app/programs with a standard a headset.
I agree that the headset is kind of flimsy but it DOES work and helps with many brain issues. It clears brain fog and noticeably improves performance. This is definitely good for those that wish to gain additional performance above others.
I can suggest many programs to use for performance and some additional changes to improve the hardware.
Hardware: move some buttons over to the left ear piece (they are too clustered), add Qi charging, etc.
Programs: I love most of the PM programs and use them to sleep. There are about 20 of those.
@HealthHackers: Performance of the audio is heavily affected by the age of your hardware, (and the speed of the processor). I intended to use an old Android device but I found that it dropped out too much and didn't have enough storage for the downloaded programs of the BrainTap. Tech support suggests that you use fairly recent hardware.
Full disclosure: I bought my own headsets and do not make any money by selling or use of the headsets. I do have access to the professional programs (through my wellness provider). There are over 1500 programs that have been updated and augmented through professional access. BTW, I have used these to get better sleep, mental focus, and better performance. They do work very well for me. That's it.

Some of the early morning ones are 10 or 11 minutes. A lot of them are around 20-23 minutes. There are some 30 minutes. I have been using this for about 10 days now. I’m pretty happy. When you ask for technology help at the area code 302 number you get a person who is not too excited to work with you, and that was a bad experience. They also don’t give you a manual so you have to figure out a lot of things on your own. I just discovered these videos and they’re being very helpful. The company itself was not helpful and did not give you the starter information. I purchased mine in Austin at the ketocon in April 2023.

I like the application and the potential benefit from the therapy, I just wish the headset was premium quality for the price. It needs to be a long term product for that much.
