Has this wearable been helping me stay calm in my new life as a parent?
The makers of Apollo say it can “help you relax, fall asleep, clear your mind, focus, and stay energized” by emitting little vibrations to “set off touch receptors in your skin that send safety signals to your brain”.
I’ve been using it nearly everyday for almost TWO MONTHS.
A couple of years ago, I used it for TWO WEEKS. There were things I liked about it but ultimately I decided I didn’t need this de-stress device in my life. I returned it to the company after my review period.
Fast-forward two years; a new baby, a new home, a new life as a sleep-deprived parent… Apollo asked if I wanted to do a follow-up review with the demands of being a mother now.
I said yes. They loaned me a newer model. And here is my review!

Your review approach is so refreshing. The focus on honesty, transparency and clarity is so helpful in fostering trust. It’s so difficult to really believe reviews as the incentive is definitely tipped toward positive reviews. Very impressed. Thank you for what you do and more importantly for how you do it.

I swear, every online video about this damn I product is either biased or have received it free. I can't find a single person that bought it and is actually giving a real review.

What is it that you feel is not real about my review? I’m a journalist and pride myself on transparency. I returned the Apollo to the company after my first review. This is my second, and again, the device is going back to Apollo.

@@HealthHackers The device is going back to Apollo? So…are you saying because you couldn’t REALLY determine with certainty that it was helping you, you are returning it to the company? btw, I’ve _also_ been using mine for right at 8 weeks (5 or 6 hours per day), and so far have noticed nothing. I was REALLY hoping to find a device that would help with relaxation & SLEEP!

@@ahcapella Hi - I have a preference of only borrowing items from brands for my reviews (although this isn't always possible, e.g. in the case of poop tests or saliva analysis!). I sent the devices back to Apollo after each of my two reviews. I didn't experience it as a 'must-have' device for me personally. I appreciate its impact has been considered superb by others though, including Kate in this video. Thanks for taking the time to watch.

A lovely review. You stuck with it, showed all the information clearly, listened to Apollo and reflected what they said, were fair, efficient, comprehensive and human, all in 13 minutes. Skill. Thank-you

Yes, I've sadly had a relentless life of extreme stress and sleep loss (23 + years) and used to also do Transcendental Meditation which due to the enormity of the last few years I've lost the art of doing - So this Apollo wearable does appeal to me especially helping those with chronic disabilities like myself (who also does Healthy Eating - but whose mind-gut is overwhelmed by living every single day) - Thank you Gemma & Great to see you & Bibi having a great Mum & Baby interaction. I very much like your reviews.

@@HealthHackers Thank you, Gemma, My Mind & Body perfected living in endurance for so long & yes sleep loss is very damaging, and recently can see neuro-degenerative worsening which is very scary for me. Recently I was in Baslow Derbyshire on Curbar Edge & Baslow Edge & taking in Truly Brilliant Epic Views alongside the Derbyshire air & how it helps my body & mentally I find it very soothing. It's important that I get to live in more soothing locations going forward that give my mind & body prolonged exposure to safety something in short supply in my life so far. Best Wishes to you Gemma & your lovely Bibi David

I have not seen this product before but it definitely seems to be aimed at the “worried well”. I wonder how much of its perceived benefits are down to the placebo effect? At least, when worn on the ankle it does increase street cred as it has that “day release from open prison” vibe to it!😂 An even-handed and fair review as always Gemma 👍

Do you think it might be helpful to someone with dementia? A good report hHs.

That’s a great question! Perhaps asking Apollo directly would be helpful? They might be able to consult their neuroscientists and see if there’s any relevant research in this area.

Did you have issues with yours? I just got mine. App is terrible wont even play anything very often and its connected

    • @ahcapella
      @ahcapella Рік тому

I’ve had serious connection issues one time. I’d only had the device for a month. I updated the firmware (or was it the app software?) because I got a message that it was recommended. After doing the update, I couldn’t get the phone & device to see each other (so to speak). I tried all the steps recommended on the Apollo website, including deleting the app and reloading it, and the app/phone STILL wouldn’t see the device-which was fully charged and a few feet away from the phone! Eventually, I tried again, and suddenly the phone/app finally connected with the device. A major glitch there, but it was only the one time…so far. I have read some reviews in which people say that as these devices age, connection issues become more common. Hopefully, the company will work to iron out these problems and give us *SERIOUS* price discounts to upgrade to new models!

My Apollo Neuro broke after 13 month of use and they were not flexible regarding their 1 year warranty coverage. $400 is extremely expensive for what is essentially a disposable device.

I test selfhelp technology professionally from 1998
I've tested the Apollo Neuro for 3 FULL MONTHS
it doesn't work (except for the PLACEBO EFFECT)
I have also measured my parameters as usual with Oura Ring gen.3
Sorry but t's a cheap object with a buggy app
    Sold for 500 USD
with one of the worst customer services ever
These are the results of my tests plese feel free to have your opinions
I hope mine will stay on this channel because it's real
