Havoc finds himself vindicated in his beliefs that decommissioning the Mammoth Mk.2 and the Walker tanks were big mistakes from the GDI. As even the GDI later admits that the walkers would have proved far more effective against the Scrin than what they currently had. While Tiberium eradication and abatement is indeed important, defunding their military assets was a major mistake for as long as NOD exists in some form, they will always be a threat as NOD cannot exist without Kane.
Nah as GDI fans, I think Mammoth Mk3 is the correct decision. Mk2 might be more powerful individually, but the prohibitive cost and slowness is too big of disadvantage. It can't even fight effectively since the weapons are locked forward except the miniscule machine gun turret on the chin. Mk3 while a bit weaker still packs powerful punch especially after upgraded with rail guns and can be deployed en masse, making them much more effective force in the field. Their guns also back in turret now which makes them less vulnerable of being surrounded or ambushed. Besides at the end of the 3rd war, we get much better design that should be Mk2 in the first place: MARV.

The only lacking things is the Mammoth tusk AA missiles which won't really affecting anything considering it's only a pair with quite slow rate of fire. Mammoth Mk3 on the other hand, you can field a squad of them and they will tear through almost anything especially after the railgun upgrades. Mammoth Mk2 is bad combat vehicle. It's only value is only as an icon in the battlefield. Something that a squad of Mammoth Mk3 is still pretty good at and MARV is doing it much better and actually useful.

The Nod Commander first benefits from the element of surprise, making things quick and simple, but given how complex later operations are he's quite flexible and adapts to the situation quickly. Nod's advantage is the simplified command structure all leading to Kane making the important decisions. The GDI commander is stuck mopping up the mess for most of the game and is always on the back foot, despite his supposed superior equipment. All thanks to idiots downgrading Nod's threat level and the chaos of the Philadelphia's destruction. Personally I'd give the win to the GDI commander given how bad the situation is in most of his operations.

He also had pretty good combat experience in game. He battled multiple GDI commanders, Alexa Kovacs and Killian Qatar. This even includes battling several Visitor units.

I don't know if it was intentional or not, but we skipped over the billboards featuring Dead Six members that show up in C&C3. It would seem that they were still around at time, getting up to some sort of antics.
I thought those billboards were just easter eggs. Or I guess you could say they are propaganda for GDI. As Groza pointed out, all the team would be quite old by the time the of the Third Tiberium War, so they'd either be in high ranking command positions within the organization or would have retired.
Maybe the team is still active but the original members retired or stayed as supervisors and new ones are recruited. A squad-based Dead Six RTS would have been cool.
there was a hilarious fan reaction to Tripwire, that was mentioned a while ago. this was the late 90's and people first favorite game gal was Lara Croft, but compared to the ladies of C&C:Renegade, Tripwire stood above them for one reason. the Devs gave her polygons and physics. look hard, you'll see it.

I really wish that they had given some examples of the kind of wet work that GDI needed to fake the deaths of the Dead Six for plausible deniability; as it stands, nothing that Havoc or any of the others are shown or mentioned to do is anywhere near sensitive enough for GDI to deny any responsibility for. There is. Renegade itself is pretty notorious for setting the date of the First Tiberium War at 2019, when before it was implied to be set at the turn of the 20th century. So 1999/2000 area. Plus the infantry weapons and equipment used in the game are more advanced compared to the ones used in Tiberian Dawn, even though both games take place during the same war. I've always thought there should have been some kind of official lore book for the CnC series to sort out all the inconsistencies. Though I highly doubt such a thing would ever get made, since EA doesn't seem to really care about it much.

The story makes much more sense if it framed as sometime between the first and second war and they can put hints of nod starting tiberium infusion tech (which already in the game) and human cybernetics which become cyborgs while GDI start experimenting with hovering techs (walkers might be too much extra work for the game engine). I think they really want to give the scene of the first mission base in CnC transitioning from the screen into 3D which admittedly very exciting but it compromised the timeline. They could fix that by simple time skip after first mission though, although 20 years time skip probably too much.

Havoc isn't at all surprised that Kane is alive, and doesn't tell anyone else that he is either. So it would contradict GDI being surprised that Kane is alive at the beginning of Tiberian Sun. So in order to make that work, Westwood would of had to not have Kane in Renegade at all, or at least, not be so overt about it. Maybe having some hints in some of the levels of his existence would of been fine, but never having Havoc actually interact with him directly.

There was going to be a Renegade 2, but it was cancelled by EA in 2003 so it wouldn't conflict with Battlefield 1942's sales.

That bit of info comes directly from Patch's description in Renegade. It explicitly says "GS9," so I was just quoting what was in the game. Though you're right that it probably should of been GSG9.

I can probably see them continue with the storyline this time console capable. On Disk form the sequel if made $60 for PS5 Xbox Series X possibly PC. Standard controls will use battlefield 2042 settings
