@@charleshamilton1488 Mafia is the name of the organized crime which was born on Sicily Italy, mafioso is a person who works for the mafia and is often related to them by blood, lastly mafiosos is the plural for mafioso

There's a funny story I heard: the italian mafia on the city of the guy who told me it created a pizza parlour as a front for their criminal activities, but the parlour was so successful, it ended giving more money to them than the criminal activities, so they simply stopped doing crimes and became legit business owners
Jesus Christ our lord and savior has spoken
Dont disrespect the pizza Parlor!
Wow

What the hell... They didnt even mention how they stopped the supply of pizza. That was by far the worst thing they have ever done.
Quadro Bean, that is completely untrue - pizza was originally was leftovers put bread and baked in Italy and was considered only a "poor person's" food in Italy, (note: I only know this because my great-grandmother was Italian, originally from Italy through she moved to America, and she looked down on anyone who would eat pizza - pasta was preferable in her household).
American soldiers saw some of the Italians make pizza during World War 2 and those soldiers brought over to the USA - improving it by adding cheese and by limiting the toppings to the ones we have today. Through, admittedly, the "thin-crust" pizza was closer to the Italian originally because they would use bread as the crust of the 'pizza'. The "thick-crust" pizza was because of American (specifically, those from Chicago) wanting more of meal for their money.

Here in Italy just 2 days ago in a bar in Rome some mafiosi have beaten the bartender and a disabled customer because they just didn’t want to wait in line, it’s sad to witness this kind of behavior in a “civilized country” nowadays...

Here is another. Some of the loan shark collectors in the Mafia would threaten the lives of the children of people that owed them money. This would give the parents literal heart attacks killing them. It was a game they liked to play. Spilotro had done this before himself. If you have to say that you have honor then it usually means you lack it.

Yea yea... all fun and games with the italian-american mafia, but are you going to talk about the real Italian mafia?

lorenzo suprani It's cause the Italian American mafia story is more interesting.
-Rice- Corrupt yes it is more interesting, but italian's Real mafia stories are horrifing!
-Rice- Corrupt I'm sorry but i cant agree, as Falcone and Borsellino were killed with some kilos of explosive under the car on the road, just because they were fighting the mafia.
It is important to know how and WHY it has originated as a fenomenon, sine in Italy is still a huge problem.

My grandpa has family connections in Sicily. He was never open to the idea of the Mafia. He even got out of the commercial driving business during the Hoffa years because he wanted avoid the mob. Didnt even like talking about them. Its a real source of shame for Italians that understand their influence.
I think he knew what he was doing, until the 80's refusing to take part of a mafia group was a public offense to the bosses. Many people joined mafia because of the poverty of the lands or because they found protection and power in mafia, although honour to your grandpa
One thing I was hoping you would mention was that mafia only refers to the Sicilian criminal organization, while there were also the Camorra (from Naples) and the n’Draghetta (from Calabria). The main differences were in the hierarchy and in the methods they used to “deal” with undesired people
How about Yakuza's?
Yakuza's are japanese mafia not italian

Make a video of the 5 Italian mafia families in the USA
Yes
Pasquale was there one in east la
Pasquale what I hate is that he makes it seem like the “mafia” is all 1 and that’s never the case
Pasquale: Did you ever wonder if the Lucchese Crime Family is affiliated with Lucchese boots? Wouldn't that be a kick in the ass! If anybody asks though, I wasn't here and you don't know where to find me. Capiche!?
Way more than 5 familys
Though I love ALL your videos without a doubt. Damn they are dark lately! Are you okay?
Well if youre gonna cover the topic mgiht as well get it all done at once. Like not switch between candyland and gangland frequently
I LOVE learning about the mafia, as I’m Italian and heard a great deal about it growing up in my family. Are there any untouchable mobs today? If so, where? What’s the most recent case of any gang related activity? Thank-you! I love this channel!!
I feel like you're getting a bit to into this....
That suprise me, because when somebody talks about mafia, it come to my mundo France, sorry for the french people.
Lol look at this fedérale
From modern day, the Sinaloa Gang is pretty strong, same as some “gangs” in Myanmar, or some other Asian country, been a bit since I watched the documentary, also are pretty strong. In modern day, you need to focus on drugs in order to become untouchable. None in America, America found a way to destroy the Mob at it’s height, with the Rico act and Union Busting.
The boss of the italian mafia is still in a endless death loop...

Bugs Moran was also apparently one of the few people Al Capone was scared of. Correct me if I'm wrong but I think the Irish ended up winning the war aswell against Capone. Capone's bodyguard in his later years was also a Glaswegian gangster. Interesting stuff. Also Murder Inc. was a specific group of hitmen afaik.
1:37 fun fact, this movement of italians to new orleans is exactly what Angelo Bronte and his crew are based on in RDR2 in saint denis (based on New Orleans)

"Taken care of" that means killed I know thing

Can you do a video when the Mafia helped the US navy in NYC during WW2
I love your videos but you let me down with this one.
Italy has a very dark history, in particular during the 80s and 90s.
In Italy we had scandals, terroristic attacks and direct government involvements in mafia. I guess it’d have been more interesting than the american mafia, which is completely different from what mafia really is...
Italian Mafia members in movies:
Faccio parte della mafia e mi vendicherò. Tu pagherai. 😈

I have rewatched The godfather trilogy and also Kdramas "Vincenzo". Wow it's a great story for mafia. 😎😎😎😎 Michael Corleone, Don vito Corleone and Vincenzo Cassano are my favourite italian mafia.
I mean Vincenzo Cassano not only genius mafia but he also attractive😂

I want to see the episode about the cartels. They even have specific "images" that they take care of. Los Zetas specialize in fear and over the top violence, Sinaloa is famous for inventions, and Knights Templar goes for PR (no drugs in their controlled areas, help crime victims find and punish villains etc).
Their body count is similar, and they're all about equally horrible in practice, but how they want to be percieved doing so varies greatly.
But then the New Bordeux Mafia accidentally left Lincoln Clay alive.
Yep
And then in the early 80's when Escobar came in America the Italian Mafia disappeared like 🐜
Thats not true kid
@Our ship Lusitania People think that the Cartels had more Power than the Mafia back then. While the Mafia had smart people with Politician Connections, the cartel had only enemys. I dont get that..
