this McCulloch 797 super, is most definetly one of the strongest saws I have, oh and i love McCulloch power saws alot and all my subscribers they darn cool to thx every body
I live in New Zealand and hv two of them, one on my Alaskan mill and the other for parts. Pure grunt machine!!,I take it off the mill to cut logs to length four foot in diameter and man do my knuckles turn white real quick!!LoL B lost without the old beast.
That's one big old saw. Talked with one of the kids tonight, he's going to learn how to use a old hog saw just like that. He wanted to know about my past, I don't talk to much about my past, it wasn't always pleasant, but I kind of let him know; it's today and where we aim to go that counts, this is what watching this channel inspires. Bill reminded me of that, pick up the pieces of the wreckage, rebuild it and do the best you can! Get out there and get it done.
Love my 797.Great looking Maple, only Maple around here is mostly Silver & a little Red.Almost no Sugar or Black unless someone planted it for shade many decades ago.Lots of mixed Oak/Hickory,a little Black Cherry,Black Walnut,Ash,Mulberry etc though.Which are great too of course. Awesome job once again Billy, stay safe out there & have a blessed Sunday.
Whoa baby! I love this saw! I just picked one of these up for $80 and it runs like a raped ape, haven't put it to wood yet as it had a mismatched and hacked bar and chain that should be in the scrap pile but just ordered a new McCulloch 32" bar and chain and can't wait to try it out. Definitely the biggest saw in my collection of now over 40! Thanks for showing us how it's done!
3500 here he comes bucking your the man seems like the first 2000 subscribers was the toughest part but now your cruising you'll be at 5000 before you know it and to quote you" your still the same person". That's why it's working for you nice job bud
Hey,this is Jeff Myers. I am a huge fan of your channel.I must say that 797 Is the single coolest saw in the world. I own an old 300 and 450. If you find time and the saw can you do the 450 bucking stuff?
wish you could come an see the old growth white pine at are land in Michigan I will never cut them down not until some thing happens to them I have already been asked if would take 8,000 for just one and I turned him down I love trees and I love to cut trees down at the same time its just some u take and some u just have to marvel at
Love seeing those old saws still out working! You've got a nice collection Buckin'. Watching all the stuff you put up here made me get excited about a bunch of saw projects I've had laying around and started working on them again. Those old Mac's sound good, and they cut even better. Keep up the great work.
love seeing the old saws being used for what they were built for and your videos are awesome it is too bad you don't have other hardwoods like oak I have personally cut logs that were easily 3' in circumference and down here in the lower 48 on long island new york some of our oak trees are 4'+ in circumference and splitting rounds from pieces of that by hand is close to impossible I love to see you split your firewood by hand I use a machine mostly but I still like to split by hand once in a while when the logs permit love the videos and the positive attitude
I love that you run those old girls when you're working! I got that echo QV-8000 same as a CS-8000 about 80cc saw so I'd have a big saw for my landscape business. It was roached off eBay when I got it it actually had water in it!!! Got the jug off to inspect the amount of damage and scoring and freaked out when I saw the water. Dried it out good and flooded it with PB Blaster to soak that crank bearings and seals .... a light sand cleaned up the aluminum transfer on the jug so all she needed was a plug and new rings!!!😀 I ordered new fuel lines and air filter and all and just got that stuff in. I'm stooked to get it all rebuilt and give her a new life in the wood. She sounds like that.... only whines out about 8000.... definitely not a 372xp but such a torque mister!!! I got a 32 inches and bought the skips to make sure the smaller saws would pull.... I can't wait to buy a full chisel to let her eat... it's a 050 ...so it that the most agressive tooth to run? I can't imagine really bogging her down so I might shave the rakes down a bit wider then I normally run! Your vids always make my smile happen...no matter how jacked up the days been! I want to know how your ax handles are darker??? You burn them with a hand torch or something??? Also... not this month but maybe next I want a Buckin' ax while your making them... a shorter handle to bang my wedges with... I love that slightly shorter looking handle your using. How many inches are they so I can compare to mine? Can you PM me the rough $ numbers so I can start planning for one of those. I still gotta find a can of Wadca'....for now everybody's that got a wood handle is getting the Linseed massage so they can rest for the winter! LMMFFAO! I think I like rubbing my handles dang near as much as you do!!! I loved that video...made me feel more "Normal"... LOL! God Bless you sand the family and a "Borat" ... "Great Success!!! For this New Year, Myfriend!!!
Will that wood need to be "seasoned" for a year or can you burn it this season? Looks somewhat green and heavy!! Straightest cuts I've ever seen, man you got that chain good!!
all that awesome unnecessary chancy 1 handed sawing action, just perfectly waiting to hit a huge brad nail and for saw to kick back and cut you to ribbons, be safe not a show off and you will live longer.
Just wondering is that McCulloch an old saw? My grandpa was a logger and so was my dad until he crushed his ankle between a skidded and some timber he was getting out. He then decided to become an educator. They used MCCulloch chain saws for years. Before that my great grandpa used cross cut saws and moved timber out with big Belgium horses. I love your stuff brings back so many memories!!
A shame you whacked that up for firewood. Not to often you see pure white maple with no heart or worm. You should have bolted the Alaskan mill to the old Mac!!

FEEING IT THE SAME STUFF FOR OVER 20 YEARS NOW,, MADE FOR POWER SAWS BY CASTROL IN BETEEN 40 - 50 TO 1
Will that wood need to be "seasoned" for a year or can you burn it this season? Looks somewhat green and heavy!! Straightest cuts I've ever seen, man you got that chain good!!

A shame you whacked that up for firewood. Not to often you see pure white maple with no heart or worm. You should have bolted the Alaskan mill to the old Mac!!
I was thinking the same thing, that was some nice looking wood.
Mr.P
Sean Lyman ohh. We see it every day.
