The 10-10 needs a little TLC. At times it almost sounded like she has an air leak, other like an ignition problem, I know shes in good hands though. That 81 was running sweet though, nice sounding saw! Now if you haven't put a chain on backward in hast, you haven't been running saws long, happens to all of us at some point. Now not knowing the difference is LOL.

Chain on backward. Couple of teens brought their saw to me, says won't cut. I look it over, without even a chuckle, remove the chain and set it right then test it on a log. They went on their way happy. After laughing about it later with my neighbor I find it happens to me a few days away for the first time in my life of 55 years! Life is good. 😊

Hey Buckin' and Victor...this looks just like the choked up woodland that I live on except I have a lot of slopes and dips. About 50% of the trees end up hanging and have to be dropped down one step at a time. The worse thing is there is no where to put all the saplings and limbs and it gets very dangerous moving around without twisting a knee out. Also the tops catch onto other trees as they fall and they can fall in any direction without good planning. Great job guys!

HA HA HA, that's funny right there. I like how you use the chains momentum while it's still spinning to help move the wood out of your way while you're buckin' Billy Ray. I used to do this for a livin' also 37yrs ago & still have one of the same saws; a John Deere 55EV/ECHO 550 EVL & climbing gear :-) I Love the adrenaline & endorphin rush topping & falling big tall timber! Be safe out there my Brother & GOD Bless...

Oh boy, that brings back some memories. I was young, like 11 or 12 years old. (Yes I ran saw that young) He hands me a chain that he has put a ton of loops in. After quite some time I get it untangled and now he says "put it on", so I did and he then tells me to go cut with it. Well, needless to say it wouldn't cut. He then says, "I'm going in to eat supper, after you figure out why it will not cut you come in and eat." After about an hour or so, I figured it out, I had it on backwards. Now I'm starving and mad. I put the chain on the right way, try it to make sure it cuts, and then I come inside just a fuming. I yell something like "you knew I had it on backwards, why didn't tell me?" He first told me to calm down and then he said "you will never do it again." Guess what, I have never put a chain on backwards again. Thank you Buckin' for this channel and helping me remember my dad! Stay safe my friend!

Cynthia Herr I did that with my first saw, I was only 15 at the time but it really doesn’t cut at all backwards. I took the chain off and put it back on and didn’t bother to look. Went to cut a woody weed and it barely scratched the surface of it.

Would like opinions on new saw. I currently have a stihl 039 which is something like 64cc but is in the farm and ranch category, I'm looking at either the ms362 or ms461. I heat my house primarily with wood and fell between 5 and 10 cord a year. Would the 362 be much of a step up? Would the 461 be too much saw? Anyone with experience with these two saws? Thanks in advance.
