Gotta disagree. Looks better in sdr on my Sony with perfect settings for other hdr games.
[4K HDR] Best HDR Games for PS4/Xbox One - The Digital Foundry Selection
(Digital Foundry, May 13, 2019)
- Horizon Zero Dawn
- Gran Turismo Sports
- Resident Evil 2 (Remake) + Resident Evil 7
- Crackdown 3
- Metro Exodus
- Tetris Effects
- Forza Horizon 4
- Resogun (PS4)
...Definitely great choices.
Hope for more HDR videos on this channel.
HDRKingz got u!
I'm glad you guys had Tetris Effect on there. I'm watching this video side by side on my HDR phone and an SDR computer monitor, and the difference is immense on every game.
Gears of war 4 is stunning on xbox one x / hdr !
That and Forza are the two best I have played
UA-cam supports HDR as long as you turn it on in Windows 10. It looked awesome! Thanks. :P
Chromecast ultra says: Yes!
This video looks great on my HDR supported phone screen! Didn't know UA-cam had this feature:)
I have to say, i think Days Gone takes the cake.. I've seen them all. I think Resident Evil 7, Devil May Cry 5 and Resident Evil 2 are all top shelf as well. I have a lg oled b6, hdr is amazing
It's implementation of HDR is underwhelming at best, and comes across like the early 2000s brown games of that era. Nothing really pops and there is huge black crush (just go into a nest cave). RE7 is a great HDR title though, as is Gears of War 4. You really can't rely on youtube videos to demonstrate this stuff though, so much nasty compression.
@@zybch Days Gone is 3840x2160 which is 4K
We understand your need to defend that game but nothing about it is impressive.
Days gone is a mix bag for me. It has excelente HDR all over the place, but holy shit, those shitty PS2 era animations. I hope they improve for their next game.
@@mattnuevo22 I'll leave you with this quote from the Digital Foundry analysis of Days Gone 👍
'Days Gone appears to use a form of checkerboard rendering to reach an effective pixel count of 3840x2160'
Last of Us remastered often gets forgotten but it has a great HDR implementation (apart from 2 scenes where it's obviously broken)
Uncharted: Lost Legacy made nice use of it as well, especially the expanded color of HDR10 along with it.
I use a Chromecast Ultra to watch HDR video stuff. Agree with all said. For me also forget 4K and 8K for me HDR blew my socks off when I first saw it. Gran Turismo looks particularly amazing and yes Horizon stuff is amazing. RE2 Remake looks pretty cool HDR wise too.
Watching on my S10 plus with HDR 10 1440P OLED DISPLAY
LOOKING GLORIOUS
What's the point of bragging?
Same bro, but S9, I think the screen specs are exactly the same tho
@@Gogo32monkey pretty much, the HDR is a little less but yeah Samsung kills it with there screens
I'm projecting it on to the carpet using an overhead projector that I found in the dumpster behind a school 17 years ago.
@@DrMcMoist nice
Great timing for this video. I just picked up an HDR TV a few weeks ago. Been looking for some good HDR enabled games to play.
you guys should do an analysis of the new FF VII trailer. See what kind of tech is going on up in there.
Enjoying the passion in Tom's voice these past months
Didnt know my phone had a HDR capable display 😱 S8
Incredible timing of the scene at 8:34. Listen to the guy say "yeah" just as the zombie mouth makes the same type of movement.
May pick up HZD just to try it out. Love HDR games. I Think Gears of War 4 should make the list as well.
You're in for a pleasant surprise with HZD, its stunning in hdr, plus it's also an actually amazing game itself, just barely missed out on game of the year 2017, beaten by breath of the wild
@@Gogo32monkey HZD came in second in GOTY wins. I believe it was Breath of the Wild, Horizon, Super Mario Galaxy, Nier: Automata, and Persona 5, in that order (in number of awards, not my personal pick; Nier was easily my favorite).
The Division II has the best HDR implementation I've seen. It looks unreal on my C8/1080TI combo. Forza Horizon 4 is also outstanding.
Gran Turismo sport has the best HDR in games, by far!
More of these, please. Also, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is hands down my favorite HDR game. It’s the game I put on to showcase my TV to my friends.
Gears 5 and Ori 2 will be the best looking hdr 4K60 games this gen.
Lol good joke
@@iamarabicandiloveamericanp7137 which 60fps console game will look better?
@@iamarabicandiloveamericanp7137 ,I forgot you have no 60fps hdr games except GT sport😂😂😂 No wonder you ran like a girl
@@vandammage1747 two responses for a three word sentence 😆 my god you're more insecure than ever before
@@handingoutdemls2984 you have no games. All you do is watch xbox videos lmao.
Your lame desktop is only used for crying on youtube.
Ps4 pro with an hdr game on my lg oled is absolutely beautiful. I wish i could share the visual impact with those who have yet to experience it.
FFXV has some pretty good HDR
I have no idea how you guys knew I was getting my first HDR capable TV today, but thanks for the perfectly timed video!
Gran turismo sport (most amazing hdr ever made pure reference on proper TV), spiderman, god of war, destiny 2 most impresive for me on oled tv horizon is looking amazing coz great graphics over all but hdr its not that impresive
I can never get the blacks right with Destiny 2. I've spent an unsettling amount of time fiddling with the settings and don't have this problem with other games.
Def coming back to this video whenever I get a TV upgrade. Graphics are just insane these days
I personally love the HDR in assassin's creed odyssey. 😎
Great video Tom and John !
Hdr on Fifa games is an abomination of the highest order!
We need a new list for 2024-2025!
Sony Xperia XZ2 has HDR support
ARBITER720PL and the XZPREMIUM
I'm very late to this party but, Wipeout Omega Collection looks amazing in HDR.
Horizon Zero Dawn. By far.
Hzd is good, try gran turismo night race on nurburgring, it's in it's own level
I thought that until I played GT Sport.
even new tomb raider has better hdr....
FFXV hdr and overall graphics and gameplay shits on Horizon
Me: *First for AC Odyssey, then comes Horizon Zero Dawn..*
However, considering HZD released in 2016, I should give more credits to this incredibly stunning game 😊
Best HDR: Gran Turismo Sport-Gears Of War 4 one x!!!
Oh, I forgot about Gears 4. It's great in that game.
Got a new phone recently and came back to watch this on HDR. It does look cool. I don't know if I'm blown away exactly but the difference is definitely obvious. Then again, I'm not sure how well my phone's screen compares to a high end TV.
I like how he calls it "Hache-DR".
1. Days Gone
2. Shadow of the colossus remake
3. resident evil 7
4. gears of war 4
Days gone and horizon zero dawn looks so amazing with hdr
If you don't have the new Range of HDR, but have an Xbox One, you can still experience a HDR like effect by having the console output more color and increase the color space on your TV through the RGB range.
It's all still 8Bit color, except that the hues and contrast blend in much better.
I have a Plasma TV and it Natively has probably the same Color Output as all these brand new 10bit panels used on the new TVs, but doesn't match the high brightness in intensity. But there have been plenty of times that the Sun in a game or movie feels and looks like an actual sun on the TV.. Even bothers the back of the eyes from thr amount of light.
i hope Sea oF thieves is here cause it really looks EXCELLENT with HDR
Lol
What a great joke! Made my day!
Nobody wants to see that garbage.
Liking the game or not has nothing to do on how good it looks with HDR.
@@ioannisdenton Exactly this comment section clearly shows how toxic the gaming community has become they are fan boying on a video talking about HDR. I will agree SOT HDR is one of the best implementations out there lucky for me I own all systems so I get to enjoy all HDR games.
Watch this from a normal SDR monitor, then i watch this again on a HDR phone, OMG this is amazing!
will cyberpunk 2077 have the best HDR in the future? if not = no buy
I can't believe you guys dissed Second Son like that. No mention of Uncharted 4 or Lost Legacy? There was plenty of footage of Final Fantasy 15 in there, but honestly the HDR in Final Fantasy 15 was pretty weak.
Horizo zero dawn by far
FFXV has much better hdr (and overall is a much better game).
@DigitalFoundry please tell me how you are editing HDR videos. I am unable to edit HDR videos on Davinci nor on Premiere Pro.
You need fp color space
Sea Of Thieves, Injustice 2, Gears 4 and Grand Turismo Sport for me. Dishonorable mention to Red Dead Redemption 2 and Monster Hunter Word. Top games with a lame HDR implementation.
I’m still salty about RDR2
@@daltonsherrod1573 I guess Rockstar doesn't have enough spare cash to get around to addressing this. I just saw GTV was #2 in sales on a chart THIS MONTH.
Thanks for the list. I just bought a 65inch lg c8 oled. I can’t wait to try these games
