Sonic Adventure 2 (Japanese: ソニックアドベンチャー2 Hepburn: Sonikku Adobenchā Tsū?) is a platform video game developed by Sonic Team USA and published by Sega for the Dreamcast console and the last Sonic game to be released for a Sega console and is a sequel to 1998's Sonic Adventure. It was released in North America, Europe, and Japan in June 2001 to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Sonic the Hedgehog series. The game was ported to the Nintendo GameCube and re-titled Sonic Adventure 2 Battle (ソニックアドベンチャー2 バトル Sonikku Adobenchā Tsū Batoru?), with brand-new features as well as minor changes in the level design. The series antagonist Doctor Eggman releases Shadow the Hedgehog, who joins Eggman and treasure hunter Rouge the Bat to steal the seven Chaos Emeralds. The game's story focuses on the protagonists Sonic the Hedgehog, Knuckles the Echidna and Miles "Tails" Prower as they attempt to stop Eggman and Shadow from collecting the Chaos Emeralds.

I've been looking for the answer to how stat grades are upgraded for years now, thank you for giving the info I wanted, every time i looked up "improve chao stat grades" I just kept getting "use chaos drives and animals to increase stat up to 99"

I managed to make one back in the day thanks to a guide. I still have him on my GameCube save. He is a black monotone neutral run. I remember the torture of slowly reseting to get the right stats. I once got a black two tone full S too but kept going for S monotone since I wanted that instead. I also did it without reincarnations. I mainly used Tiny Chao Garden's free neutral eggs. They seemed to have better stats.
My friend gave me sa2b not too long ago. Was able to make an all S chao with a mix of evolution and breeding in a couple weeks. Tryna think of ways to make an even stronger chao (looking into reincarnation and how that effects the stats with breeding)

Learned how to breed in pokemon earlier this year and find it interesting how much overlap it has with gen 2 pokemon 31 IV system. Had the gameboy advance cable and everything back in the day and remember farming rings/eggs on the advance version Sonic when not at home for the gamecube version. It took a lot of inspiration from pokemon and really wish they would have kept the mechanic in future Sonic games. Likely just replaying through Sonic Adventure 2 when frontiers comes out and before gen 9 pokemon comes out later this month. I don't understand how series like Sonic and Paper Mario nailed the perfect formula for game structure in the early 2000s, then proceeded to never make a game in that format for over 2 decades and counting.
That last sentiment about Sonic and Paper Mario, I felt in my soul.

The evolving strategy is how I like to make chaos Chao, the breeding method just makes cool combos for me
Not to mention that the breeding method would be optimal for neutral and hero red two-tone Chao and green two-tone Chao. Honestly a modern Chao Garden should update the color schemes a bit for some two-tone Chao to make them pop a bit more. For example, the neutral normal two-tone Chao could use an overhaul for their coloration and emote balls. And nor to mention white two-tone hero Chao could be a bit offset in coloration where they take on a very slight hue based upon their types coloration.
My brothers and I have at least 6 all S rated Chaos chao on gamecube, it does take time but its worth it. also they are all double colored to our liking having normal chao colorations and secondary colors we like , red blue and purple, it took us a while but we have dominated the chao garden, the only thing we could have done is let the chao reincarnate more to boost their s tier stats. which isn't much of a benefit unless you're trying to "max" out a chao

Got sa2b a not too long ago. Was able to get an S chao in a couple of weeks and now I'm tryna make the ultimate chao. I theorized that reincarnation helped to boost stats so it's nice to see I'm not the only 1

You mentioned breeding chaos. It's been a long time since I've played the game, how do you breed them?
Chao occasionally enter a natural mating season sometime in their adult life. You can also give them a heart fruit from the black market to make them ready to breed.
Okay 7 years playing on and off. Time to grind for that S rank chao then turning it into Light Chaos Chao! 😈

Playing rn on my 180 emblem save. Im currently attempting to get all obtainable character chaos with all S ranks on the gamecube version. I have a shadow one and that took about 2 months irl time, but maybe 2 weeks play time

Yeah with the gameboy you could push the chao's stats to maximum without them aging up until you put them back in the GameCube. I remember I was tryna artificially inflate the chao's grades by maxing out the stats that were lowest each round and then rinse repeat. It was working but it takes so long to do that I gave up eventually.
They are pretty cool but you can still max the races and karates fight with rank E chao if I recall correctly. But yeah seeing S number is quite cool.

When you say 3-5 hours or 20 hours does that mean in-game time? Do I have to just leave the game on for that whole time?
That means time that you are actually in the garden. If you are waiting for a chao to reincarnate, you could leave the game on for a few hours to help speed it up

Im trying to create an all s rank chao. I used two parents which passed down the S rank in swim and fly. The running stat is at A and my chao has 44 in Run but once its evolving into an adult the A doesnt turn to an S? What am I doing wrong? I used a lot of cheetahs to get the running up to 44, not sure if thats a problem since power goes up a tiny bit aswell.
It sounds like your chao isn't evolving into a running type, I've also ran into this issue before, if you gave your chao too much of specific drive or animal before giving them the proper animals and drives, you risk making them evolve into the wrong type. I'll try my best to give you an example.
I wanted a running type Chao,I gave it bunch of green chaos drives and run type animals but it kept jumping into the water flailing, (not rescuing them will lower there friendship thus increasing the time it takes for them to evolve), so I gave it yellow drives so it can learn to swim,but,because it's swim stat was so low I had to give them a lot and as a result it became a swim type, there's a point in the game where if you gave them too much of a certain type you cannot change what they'll become until they reincarnate. I found a way around this, and that was to not stop giving them green drives and running type animals even if I am trying to teach them how to swim, for every two yellow chaos drives I gave them, I made sure to give them 3 and or 4 green drives. This method usually works for me, goodluck and I hope you understood this.
How stat influence and evolution works is kinda complicated, I suggest a video by the sapphirechao that goes into detail

I'd need more info to have a hope of solving this; I'm assuming the issue is on SA2/B since you mentioned karate. Are you using any Chao mods? Are you seeing any other weird behavior?
Fusion's Chao Editor is kind of obsolete; if you're using mods, Fusion's editor is known to cause problems because it was never updated to work with modern versions of Chao mods. Kryzs2's Chao Editor is updated more frequently and has more features (even in vanilla), plus has mod support.
Does this "all S rank chao" has a unique form like the "Chaos Chao"?
So what happens if it evolves into a neutral, hero, or dark normal choa, grade wise?

I was at the Breeding part, I gave each of the Heart Fruit for the two specific chaos that I want to breed, But after they have the last bit of the Heart Fruit the flowers didn't appear. Also I have like a total of right Chaos at the Hero Garden as well. How can make the flowers to appear after the last bite of the Heart Fruit to work. Because I want a All S Rank Chao as well and I'm still learning from what your video told me what to do. I just don't know what to do to make the flowers appear. Are both Chaos evolved? I'm pretty sure they have to be in their Adult stage to enter their breeding mode

No its based on your Chao evolution from child to adult. For example, you want a Chao that evolves into a Run Type If that Chao has A rank on Run as a Child, it will turn into a S rank as an adult. I hope this helps.
No, only one stat powered up with go to S when the Chao evolves.

Is it only luck? Or can you feed your chao loads of fruit so that when it evolves to adult hood it will go up a letter?
2 week late response but if you don't strongly go any direction in any stat - have a balanced amount across the stats - it will become a normal type and the stamina raises a letter. It doesn't have to be exactly the same level across the board, just similar leveling for the most part (this is referring to the swim, fly, run, and power stats, stamina can be any level as it is not accounted for in evolution calculation) If youre lucky enough to get a chao with at least an A rank stamina you can evolve it to S and breed the S stamina, or even a chao with a B will work as you can raise it to A and eventually to an S later on with breeding
Breeding is very luck based as there's always a chance you do not pass the S grade gene and get the other parent's gene, but the luck based chance spending rings on heart fruit is way faster than waiting for a chao to reincarnate and evolve it over and over and over until it is all S (unless youre REALLY lucky with a random chao egg) I currently have 3 S grades split between chao that I intend on eventually breeding into one chao

ive been getting very unlucky in this, choa said that the offspring is a random assortment of the parents ranks, but i am getting ranks that the parents dont have, for example: Parent 1 (SSBDE) Parent 2 (CADAC) and i got a child with ESDAE? Is the random assortment per stat or is it any random letter that either parent has?
I only discovered this recently after seriously researching how to breed an all S rank chao. To answer your question, unfortunately all chao actually have two alleles (E through S, ie. Swim: D or A) within the gene that determines individual stat ranks. Either allele (letter rank) has an equal chance of being selected as the active rank that you'd see at the Doctor's. So for example, your Parent 1 (SSBDE) and Parent 2 (CADAC) had a child with an E rank Swim rank. Neither parent has that rank and isn't an "in between/blended" rank either, like B or A in this case (blended ranks never occur, this is only a theory explanation). So, it appears to be coming from nowhere, however each parent has an entirely different set of ranks that could be passed on to a child and be selected as the active rank. In other words, there are always two sets of unknown ranks also at play to be inherited, and from the two inherited ranks, only one will be selected. You have 5 stats you want in a pool with 15 others you don't, 10 of which are completely unknown. It's like a lottery with two drawings and even if all 5 stats are inherited there is a possibility that none of them are selected. What's worse is that in that case you'd have no idea the 5 ranks you wanted were technically passed on (without hacking or modding, though idk about that stuff). So, in reality breeding (to get better ranks) is seriously difficult/low odds because there's an entire layer of unknown and potentially lame ranks in the mix.

All S chao are the strongest chao you can get. If you plan on doing modded races, then you will need them. In the base game they are mostly for bragging rights.

Okay. Dude. I bred a starting chao and a black market Chao together and it got a grade that couldn't have come from either parent. Please. Somebody explain how this happened. I know their hidden trait is different, but they're both homozygous for them all and it couldn't have come from anywhere. I know that the hidden traits stay the same despite evolution.
My all A chao parents had a child with a blood disease (E stamina). chao genes are a mix of parents + Random chance (think simplified real genetics)
@@chiefmingle7618 I actually realized it wasn't a Black Market Chao... I searched old memory cards for good stats and found that one. It was a white Chao, but I bred it again and got a grey baby. So I finally realized that it must've been a bred baby.

Yes :) while the S ranking is entirely inheritable if accquired through evolution, the chao will still have a hidden A grade in their stats

Hi Kim, an all s chao is not required on anyway to get all of the chao emblems. Most chao with all lvl 99 stats should be able to beat all races and karate.

Your chao has to evolve into a normal type chao, so no run, power, fly or swim drives or animals
