We will be looking at what a Chaos Chao really is, the requirements for your Chao to become one, and how to actually turn your Chao into a Chaos Chao. We even go over the animal locations for each animals in Sonic Adventure 2 Battle. Feel free to leave any questions in the comments below, I will try my best to help!

Sonic Adventure 2 (Japanese: ソニックアドベンチャー2 Hepburn: Sonikku Adobenchā Tsū?) is a platform video game developed by Sonic Team USA and published by Sega for the Dreamcast console and the last Sonic game to be released for a Sega console and is a sequel to 1998's Sonic Adventure. It was released in North America, Europe, and Japan in June 2001 to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Sonic the Hedgehog series. The game was ported to the Nintendo GameCube and re-titled Sonic Adventure 2 Battle (ソニックアドベンチャー2 バトル Sonikku Adobenchā Tsū Batoru?), with brand-new features as well as minor changes in the level design. The original game and content from Battle was released in high-definition on PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade in October 2012. A version for Microsoft Windows was released in November 2012.
The game takes place after the events of its predecessing game: Sonic Adventure. The series antagonist Doctor Eggman releases Shadow the Hedgehog, who joins Eggman and treasure hunter Rouge the Bat to steal the seven Chaos Emeralds. The game's story focuses on the protagonists Sonic the Hedgehog, Knuckles the Echidna and Miles "Tails" Prower as they attempt to stop Eggman and Shadow from collecting the Chaos Emeralds.

How did you remove the skull hat at the very end?? Or was that a different chao??
@@rebeccabamber2139 that was the same chao. With mods, I was able to take the hat off by bringing them to the chao transporter. In the original unmodded games, the only way to remove the hat/skull is to throw your chao against a wall. One of the many pros of mods lol

@Choa Ik im late but let me ask if I want to max out its stats how do I keep it neutral? I see a lot of examples of people evolving them but their stats are the same as when they first reincarnated. Also is there anyway to get the chao editor on xbox?

Sonic adventure 3: fans and patience. Where you can have more chao to start with and more chao in one garden. And the patience part is that evolving is faster

If anyone else wanted another quick location for the Unicorn, in Dry Lagoon after you transport with the turtle, there's a small area in front of the obelisk that has some posts in a circle. Whistle in the middle of it and a unicorn will pop out!
I uses to play this game just for the chaos. Of course, I've beat the game many times but the chaos were my life when I was younger.
I've started up Sonic Adventure 2 just for nostalgia reasons and now i need to obsess over these chaos again.

These new games just don’t hit how they used to.
The community for this game is surprisingly large. I think the addition of cool mods have brought a lot of people back to the game.
Easier place for the phoenix's is tails' mission street, there's 2 in the level, one you cant really miss in a cage about half way through, rocket for it behind the metal boxes directly behind the cage
Years ago, I started a SA2 LP and I never ended up finishing it... I really enjoyed making the chao garden videos (I even did them from time to time while I was LPing other games)! If I ever end up bringing the game back to my channel, I think I'll challenge myself to get all 3 of the chaos chao, because I've never done it before 🤔💖

for anyone looking for a really easy unicorn to grab, in rouge’s first stage dry lagoon, by collecting the 3 chao boxes, the 3rd one will always have a unicorn in it :3 this stage is also really small and easy to finish quickly with quite a few rings
pure chaos was learning this 4ourselves.
I wish that Enhanced Chao Garden mod with the Chao Stats screen could be ported to SA2B GC, since I really like the Tiny Chao Garden connectivity.

lol i play chao garden on the Xbox360 now they had a SEGA sale once, the last thing i did (years ago) was get a ton of pheonix and dragons to make all my chaos cool looking, now i am back to do some serious Chao raising but now i'm conflicted to turn them all into monstrosities of animal part. XD

I remember Chao being one of the most confusing things in games I played when I was a kid. However when I go back and look at mechanics as an adult I usually realize it was never all that complicated. But god damn was this game always convuluted. No wonder it mostly made no sense to me who also had no interenet to look stuff up.

Will being up that if you want a chaos chao, you should consoder very well if you want it to be all S or dont mind it to not jave the best stats you cant recreate your chaos chao. To bring the rank up on your chao and eventuaky get an S, you need to evolve your chao to a specific type to raise that one stat. Want to raise flying stats from a B to an A? Turn your chao into a fly type by only giving them frying abimals or flying type chaos drives. And if yiu want to raise its stamina, dont give it any animals or drives, only give it fruit, and make it evolve to a nutural chao by switching between a dark character and hero character. If it becomes either a dark or hero chao, it will not work.
I tried on 2 different chaos but I didn't knew what's happening with the animals I gave them, until my second attempt. The Flight animals give SO much value for the stat of Flight. Too much for the other animals to catch on. Whenever I try to make a Chaos Chao, it always goes for Flying because there are so many animals that benefit the Flight stat. With this video, I can make a strategy for my third attempt and hopefully it works.
This game still 🔥
In most versions Chaos Chao cannot die no matter what (aside from deleting them with the Goodbye option with the transport machine) However the Dreamcast version of SA1 Chaos Chao can straight up die if their HP hits zero making so they basically not worth it in that version. (SA1 DC has a HP stat instead of Happiness) Not mention even getting a chao to live long enough to reincarnate once is a nightmare in that version since HP drains over time and have to keep it replenished by feeding it. Its easy to accidentally hit him either through attacking them by accident when trying to pick them up or by them wandering too close while your shaking fruits down and they get hit by falling fruits (yes the fruits can straight hurt them in this version its stupid) so hit them too much and they die instantly. There's no way of telling if a Chao is dying or reincarnating due to the cocoons all being grey and a Chao that does manage to reincarnate its HP still drains while reincarnating and in the egg so high chance a reborn Chao will hatch with zero HP and dies instantly upon hatching thereby wasting all your time and effort. Worst of all the DC version of SA1 has a bug where the time passes in all 3 gardens even though time is only supposed to pass for the garden you are in so you'll have Chao dying in gardens you weren't in due to their HP hitting zero because you weren't there to feed them in time.
Don't bother with getting Chaos Chao (or raising Chao in general) in SA1 DC they're not worth it.
When I farm unicorns I just whistle at the dry lagoon at the start of the second area, it's pretty quick

Ok, what the s#@#, I always thought during childhood that the Chao stuff was tedious since I only do it for the Emblems, but now, I kinda dig the weirder mechanics, I hope I have more patience now as an adult, as I think of Let's Playing it someday; all Chaos Chao Variants and whatnot.

I use these stages for animals:
Otter: Prison Lane
Penguin: Aquatic Mine (Left of Start, Dive down one level)
Seal: Aquatic Mine (Right side of starting room at bottom)
Condor: Eternal Engine (Left of start)
Parrot: Egg Quarters (On Egg Scorpion Statue in starting room)
Peacock: Dry Lagoon
Cheetah: Wild Canyon
Warthog: Pumpkin Hill (To the right on platform with spike Trap)
Rabbit: Cosmic Wall
Bear: Sky Rail
Gorilla: Mission Street (Whistle at Red Box on right)
Tiger: Hidden Base (In steel container near start)
Raccoon: Metal Harbor or Mad Space (In nearby Steel Container)
Sheep: Meteor Herd
Skunk: Hidden Base
Bat: Sand Ocean
Half Fish: Egg Quarters (Destroy a cage using a Kiki's bomb)
Skeleton Dog: Pumpkin Hill
Dragon: Wild Canyon (Corner of Room with Mystic Melody)
Phoenix: Meteor Herd
Unicorn: Dry Lagoon (Go to area with poles after taking turtle to big Oasis then whistle in center)
Oh shoot I had the angel chaos chao! I never realized that's what it was. As soon as I saw the picture I was like "Yo that's MY baby".
I do have a few questions about making a Chaos Chao
1. If I simply never give the Chao any animals or drives after giving it one of each animal, will it still be a Chaos Chao?
2. After collecting an animal, do you have to beat the stage or can you quit with the animal saved?
3. When does the animal process begin? Should it be when a Chao's still a baby or when it's an adult? What about reincarnations? Could I wait until my Chao reincarnations for the first time to start the animal process?
1. Yes, they just need one of each animal and to evolve into a normal chao.
2. You can quit right away
3. Your chao must have reincarnated twice. They can only be made into a chaos chao before they evolve in at least their third life.

No order is required You can give them in any order you want
i played this game so much and for a while. and yet still no chaos chaos sounds like to much work lmao
One exception to the animal part rule, if you give it a dragon (I think) or the alien looking thing before they evolve, (I don't know if it works after) then they will have a flame ball. The skeleton dog will remove this if you want their normal chaos emote ball
The seal can be found where that raccoon is in metal harbor. I use that and the penguin (same stage, really close. Sometimes will be a seal instead.)
the serpent adds the flame ball, that doesn't change how they evolve.
Am I the only one who prefers making Chaos Chao in SADX? Because I hate how in SA2B the animals for the most part are only found in the boxes, cages or hiding in parts of the levels if it's a level with no Eggman robots so I have to search all over the level to find them unlike in DX where I can just easily get them from any level by smashing the robots.
Second I prefer how in DX the levels contain all 3 animals of one group a single animal of the blue group depending on which level it is. So I can easily get all 3 yellow animals from either Emerald Coast or Hot Shelter, all 3 purple animals from Casinopolis etc etc. I really hate how SA2B just has only two levels where it's possible to get all 3 animals of one group that being City Escape with the blue animals and Pumpkin Hill with the black animals. Meanwhile all the other animals I have to go to two different stages just to find all 3 of one group. Oh and DX only has 15 animals so no having to look for the rare hard to find black or gold animals

After the 2nd reincarnation of their lifespan; while they are baby again, that's only when it matters 👍🏻; any time during those past 2 life's, doesn't matter what they had or not 👍🏻

several of your animals aren't the easiest ones. Wild canyon is the easiest dragon by far, just fly up the wind vortex, go to the path where the mystic melody area is, dig in the picture, and there's a dragon on the top area there.

This is a fantastic guide! I have the extender guide and had two questions: The first is I know on the 3rd Incarnation you do the animals and just let it grow. Does it matter what it is the first 2 lives? I’m raising my first now. I want a Tails Chao, so basically a Chaos Chao.
Another is very mod exclusive, I have my Amy chao planned, but the mouth is very unfitting. Do character chao get the same mouths in incarnating?
What’s the easiest way to make them happy and stay happy?
Pet them by repeatedly pressing the pet button. You should see the heart emotion ball appear repeatedly. If you do that for a few minutes, their happiness should be close to maxed out in a relatively fast time.

4:47 I don't know if this is specific to any version of the game or not but I've been playing it on the Xbox and I've found that if I get all of the Chow containers on Iron Gate the very last box before the goal ring will have a dragon

So have a Chao Reincarnate twice and then give it one of every animal and then have it evolve again.
I domt know of u said this in this video but when you make a chaos chao there is a small chance it won't become a chaos chao it has happend to me twice XD

The only way I can see this happening is either:
Maybe there was 1 animal you missed and forgot to give it.
Maybe it's happiness wasn't high enough. Anything that makes a heart appear above it's head increases happiness. Hitting it severely lowers happiness so make sure you don't hit it and if you do by accident don't save your progress and re enter the garden. Also i've heard that when they're in water when they can't swim yet also lowers happiness so make sure they can swim.
Maybe it was too close to becoming a Swim, Fly, Run or Power.

Will it hinder your chao stats if you wait until they evolve into the chaos chao to train them? Since you need to not train them initially to keep them from becoming run/fly/etc? Or is it seen as them evolving and not a reincarnation that would reset their stats

I read somewhere that you can give your Chao 5 Chao Fruits instead of the Animals and it’ll evolve. I tried that and it DID work. But that was on my GameCube I have no clue if it’ll work on PC.

Sorry for asking so late, u've said after becoming chaos they can no longer reincarnate. Does it mean there is no more way to upgrade stats to S after that?
Stat grades can't be updated once they are a chaos chao without mods, so they would be whatever they were prior to them becoming a chaos chao. Hope this helps!

A reflective sky blue neutral chao that looks like Chaos Zero is very cool. I wanted to make one to do all the emblems with but the whole reincarnate twice is putting me off. And the eggs are so expensive for that color too. Takes too much time. And with 80 happiness I'd mess up the alignment by petting it too much with one side or not getting it happy enough out of fear of not taking care of it in a balanced way. Why is 1 chao year 3 hours in GC SA2B... *sigh*
I ended up breeding and raising for 1. I was done with the game 55 hours in and now I'm at 95 hours haha. But I have an S rank monotone pink neutral chaos chao.
There’s no balance needed when it comes to happiness. Just raise it with one or two characters, don’t abuse it (don’t hit it, jump on it, take its food, wake it up, leave it hungry, or leave it sick). Raising its stats will even increase happiness.
Losing races and karate matches too many times will also stress it out, so make sure to train your chao thoroughly.
It’s making sure it’s happiness is over a certain amount and it’s stress level is below a certain amount that will earn you a reincarnation.
I’ve gotten six of my current Chao to reincarnate once, and they’re on their way to their second. I did this by petting them with the character I wanted, raising its stats, earning all of its medals in the races, taking it to school and completing the Chao Karate.
I always raise my chao’s stats as fast as possible and put them in beginner races and karate matches once their stats reach level 30. I put them in the harder races once they reach level 60-70, then I earn them their champion titles once they’re maxed.
I also make sure my Chao have lived at least one life on each alignment so they can earn all of their medals.
