Hi Sue I don’t use bronzer or contour as I am ultra pale and cool toned- they all look muddy, orange, sallow or just plain weird on my skin😂. Instead I sometimes use two different shades of blush. One slightly (and I mean slightly) darker shade just under the cheekbone blended up and a lighter slightly brighter shade on the cheekbone blending into the apple of the cheek. I don’t smile to apply as my resting face then looks like the blush is too low btw. I’m super dry so I like creams and liquid’s with a slightly dewy look, but depending on skin type powder will also work. I then use a skin gloss or quite muted highlighter just exactly where I want to catch the light. I have a round face shape even in my fifties so higher blush looks better on me as well as more towards the perimeter (I don’t need more rounded cheeks 😂). Blush placement is really dependent on your face shape, so it’s a great idea to play and find out what looks the best on each individual person rather than what is on trend blush wise. That way it always looks flattering on the person. If I had a warmer or slightly darker skintone I’d probably do the same with bronzer or contour, but my pale skin just looks terrible with it. I’ve been buying and wearing makeup now for forty years without stopping for more than a few days at a time 😂. When I was young I devoured all the books about makeup as we didn’t have access to all the information we now have. I learned tips and techniques from makeup artists along the way, but have also learned modern techniques from social media. Some of the new techniques have been incorporated when they suited my face, but others haven’t as they didn’t😂.
For the eyes a little shimmer on the centre or inner half of the lid (two different placements for different impact) will always add more dimension and shape to your eyes as it catches the light in a way mattes just can’t.
Lipliner has become an essential as I have aged whilst I never needed it years ago. My lip line has naturally softened and that vermilion border is less pronounced. This is where lipliner makes a huge difference giving you back the shape aging takes away. I prefer a lipliner just a shade darker than my own lips blurred into the lip as it then never leaves that weird outer dark line when the lipstick wears off (they usually wear off slower than lipsticks or glosses).
Both sides look great Sue and best wishes x
Hi Loraine. Thank you so much for this. I've pinned this because I think it would be very useful to anyone with fair skin like yours. I love the idea of applying an ever so slightly darker shade of blush under your cheekbones! Xx
Your skin has a gorgeous glow today, Sue. ❤
@@kateaye3506 thank you my friend xx
I like putting a little bit of white eyeshadow under my eyebrow! I feel it opens up my whole face!
Yes, you are right! It definitely opens up the face.
Hi Sue. Always a lovely look. I definitely love some shimmer on eyes and cheeks. I love a highlighty blush! I also like to use a light crease shade but, I like to bring it up a little higher and blend it up and out. I like a fairly natural look, overall, with a wash of colour and shimmer on cheeks and eyes.
I hope you have a lovely day! ❤
Thank you Sara! 😊
Great tips and lovely makeup.
Thank you 😽
Great tips!! Thank you!❤
Thank you Julie x
Very lovely look.💜🇨🇦💜
Thank you Diane xx
❤❤❤
Hello lovely lady 😊😽
That’s a very nice look. I have the same bronzer but never use it. My skin is very pale and I feel it doesn’t look good with the bronzer. That Lancôme blusher looks very pretty
Thanks Mary. The lancome blush is very pretty if you prefer something subtle xx
❤️❤️,
Hey Sue,I struggle with mascara smudging on my lids.I recently bought the new maybeline waterproof mascara in a light pink metalic packaging
I also try putting powder ,I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong
Any ideas?
🥰🥰
Hi Phumzi. I don't think it's you, it sounds like it's the mascara. Maybe pull your lid up slightly when applying the mascara, so it doesn't transfer to your top lid? Also, new mascaras are often very "wet". It makes become more manageable as it dries out slightly xx
@@Fifty-sense
That’s a good point with new mascaras didn’t think of it .
Well!!it means I must just continue using it and will try pulling the lid too🥰❤️
Thanks Sue 🌸🌸🌸
Were do you buy the Milani from in SA?
