Was great to meet you and a great talk. I came with my Dad to Private Flyers Fest who got his PPL back in the 80s, we're sat at the front and enjoyed your talk! Finally starting to get my PPL this August and me and my Dad love the channel. Hopefully see you in the air soon!
Wow Karl thank you so much for the support and kind words and for the generous Super Thanks I will buy a coffee with it and raise the cup to you and your Dad. Good luck with the training, thinking back that was my favourite time, learning to fly. You are amazing sir for your kind gift and we will definitely meet up somewhere. Keep me updated with your progress (especially when you go solo). All the very best Terry
Public speaking is one of the most high anxiety things you can do..... Well done..... Every time I have had to do it, I had a rush of endorphins afterwards with the shear relief of it !!
Excellent.. great learning experience to grow your skill. I always pause and smile at the audience to put them at ease.. and then go.. know your material and get a joke in there within the first 30 seconds..
You are so kind and clever, the flight over was Friday and the talk in the video was on Saturday, the magic of editing, thank you so much for the support.
Terry! So good to meet you at the show, but I didn’t ever get to show you around the Piper M600 as promised! Plus I think the PA46 you extended for was me and a client flying in, thank you and apologies 😅👍 Ollie.
Hi Terry, was a great talk, very natural and captivating. Great stories and content, even my partner was chuckling along to the anecdotes. Wycombe is my main base flying helicopters, we came up to say hello. Lots of noise restriction areas around WAP, hence the odd circuits. Heli circuits are closer but are also non standard format.
Well done Terry! Knew you'd be a success 🫣👍🏻 I was hoping to make the show and sit in on your talk, but unfortunately life got in the way... as it usually does! I hope you'll be doing more of this sort of thing 👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻
A natural I'd say👍💜😊 I've done some tough presentations and I have to say that the doing is rarely a problem, but that the anticipation is the worst part🙄🤔😲😉💜💜 Fond memories of Booker, from when I was aged 3-5, dad doing his PPL etc.
I was thinking of flying down but a coulpe of things got in the way and one was the need to PPR back in May, which I did not think was a great idea with the weather in the UK, if I took a spot and then couldn't make it due to say a cross wind outside my low limit that another aircraft could have used. They almost didn't let Stuart PPR! 😞
Hi Terry How do you record your flying audio? At 1.40 minutes you appear to have a cable running from your camera behind you into your Headset. The audio is very clear. Cheers from New Zealand.
Hi Michael, I record directly to the GoPro, that was my only audio recording for a long while, however I had a couple of failures so now I record to two GoPro's one with the intercom cable and the other via a little mic I put in the cup of my headset. Thanks sir.
Here's how I approach these engagements: if they want me to taljk about things I knie and love then chances are I know more about the subject than the audience. Helps to reduce the anxiety.
Good job getting on with it. I co-presented with Butch Washtock a seminar/clinic at Grande Prairie Alberta. His presentation was much better than mine, but he was nervous. We who talk too much anyway have too little problem with talking.
Stand up, Speak up, Shut up, Sit Down.
The essential 4 steps to the art of successful public speaking.
Well done Terry.

Ahh! Bringing back some wonderful memories of Wycombe Airpark for me, where I gained my PPL in 1981 thank you for posting.
Well done, best way to overcome fear of presentation, it’s just to do it, and that’s what you did

Brilliant advice :-)
Was there on the Saturday. Thought you were a natural. Don't remember the weather being as nice as your video though
You are so kind and clever, the flight over was Friday and the talk in the video was on Saturday, the magic of editing, thank you so much for the support.
Fantastic! What a great day flying, and I'm sure you nailed the presentation - if you can talk to a camera, you can talk to an audience 😉👍
Cheers Mike

Hi Ollie I did try and find you but you had gone. Next time buddy and no worries happy to fit into the pattern even if I have to wait my turn 👍👍👍

Thanks so much Andi.
Tell 'em what you're going to tell 'em. Tell 'em. Tell 'em what you told them. Simples!
Public speaking gets easier as you gain experience and confidence.
I remember back to the night before when we were chatting about your talk content. I'm glad you were just you and a wonderful background story.
It turned out great in the end and thank you for the support Giles it was so encouraging 👍👍👍
@@ShortField my pleasure.

Thanks so much Kev, we will meet soon I know it.
That's awesome Terry, what an adventure!
Amazing video!
Any chance these SportCruiser aircraft can be shipped cross-country?
I can’t find any dealers in my country, South Africa.
Thanks Tom. I think the wings come off so possibly container deliverable from Europe or why not buy one and fly it home?
A few stops along the way though… 😂
Well done Terry I admire your steely resolve. Chris in Devon.
Thanks Chris.
I've always hated public speaking. Love your channel and your manner!
Thank you so much, not sure I want to do it again I lost so much sleep :-)
Well done Terry :)

Wycombe or Booker is an awesome place just so busy.
@@ShortField 💜💜💜 It is, it was busy back in the late 1960s and early 1970s too, iirc 1 x hard rwy, 2 x grass rwy, helos, gliders, filming, all sorts.
Good on you for having the guts to do public speaking!
Terry sorry to have missed your presentation, sure it went well.
Cheers Pete

Thanks for thinking about it Algy.
Well done Terry, mic fright still exists then!!!!
Definitely I'm no natural at this :-)
Well done!
Thank you.

Great job but a quick question, what is the app you are using in the aircraft?
Sorry for the late reply, thank you Richard. The app is SkyDemon www.skydemon.aero/

Congratilations 😂
You did a great job 👍🏼
Thanks for the video Geoff.
@@ShortField You’re most welcome sir! It was good to meet you there 👍🏼
I am not a fan of public speaking either. I do have to do it as a day job sometimes.
Thanks Glenn I would do it again though it was a buzz, afterwards :-)
👍
Seeking clearance through a FISO?
Did I, not even sure he was a FISO think Wycombe was just air to ground? You’re correct though it’s all up to me.
This has nothing to do with the vid, but I noticed that your airplane has kind of a forward-swept wing, why is that?
Not sure why I think it's to do with low speed handling but I'm not 100% sure on that.
👋
Click bait, I thought from the title it was going to be another flapless take off 🤣
You guessed wrong, this was much scarier than that 🙂
Good job getting on with it. I co-presented with Butch Washtock a seminar/clinic at Grande Prairie Alberta. His presentation was much better than mine, but he was nervous. We who talk too much anyway have too little problem with talking.
I don't really want to do it again, I'm amazed by those that do it all the time. Cheers Jimmy
Why not stay overnight in a hotel?
Work, wife, commitments, dog, kids should I go on :-)
@@ShortField all the more reason to do it! 😁
nice clickbait
I was worried about that if you think so I'll change the title and thumbnail. I did say in the first 30 seconds that this was in aviation not flying.
