I use Boss ch-1 Super Chorus, ge-7 Equalizer and Holy Grail Reverb in the effects loop of my EVH 5150 III LBX-S. It has the best effects loop of any amp I’ve used. I run a Tube Screamer mini to push the amp.
Mr. Euge, I love your voice 😅 reminds me of Dracula. You totally shred brother! I love your tone and playing style. Definitely have the same influences
I use a boss super chorus in my JCM 800, and the boss chorus ensemble in my 6505+. Both through the effects loop. The chorus and the graphic eq are always on. Been doing this since 1981, and very similar to the settings you use. 🤟🏽🤟🏽🤟🏽🤟🏽
Sounds awesome man! I use three different settings on my '91 Ensemble that Zakk used for dirty stuff very close to your settings! One more subtle, one heavy for rhythm then one heavy with the rate faster for lead! My fav chorus ever! I do think my passive pickups sound better for clean stuff than my emg's do though!
I am big chorus fan. I had both CE-5 versions - analog and digital. They were kinda lacking lushness. Bought Electro-Harmonix Neo-clone - very noisy and unstable sound. MXR Analog Chorus - sucking and muddying the tone even if turned off. Now I have CE-2 Waza. It is very transparent while turned off but muddy too. Thinking about Eventide Tricerachorus for this 80s style stereo tone.
Euge, you have one of the best channels on youtube dude... great info And IMO, Marshall tone heaven. Another great one Euge! I own the MXR Zakk version, I might try this one with another head and my JVM410.
Thanks for this Euge, very informative demonstration. I like the sound with chorus in front of an overdriven amp, especially the jcm 800 - really gets those 80s sounds! I know you don’t use flanger pedals much, but it would be interesting to see a similar demo with how to use a flanger and how it compares to chorus. I guess they can get similar effects, but also can be quite different. I also wonder about the difference between using chorus and micropitch with two or three amps and cabs. I guess the difference between early and later Van Halen… Thanks again, keep on rockin’!
Masterclass. The way you reproduced Zakk's style of chorus reminded me of the Roland JC-120 amp, obviously with another sound, but that amazing amp is stereo and uses its included chorus this way. Great video!
I don’t get how some guitar players don’t like chorus, I think any clean guitar sounds better with a little chorus on it and if you can use it the Zakk way into two amps at once it’s pretty incredible. My hot take I’d rather have Chorus than reverb or delay if I had to choose one only.
Another inspiring video! Have you ever played with a micro pitch pedal? I'm experimenting with a DigiTech Luxe pedal on one of my amps to thicken the stereo sound.
Hey man, Just wanted commend to you and your bands" vertigo trigger" album, I know it's released some months back and I'm a bit late but it's a great album, and as always thanks for another great vid
Hi, this is rather interesting, I totally suck on software and all that kinda stuff, but I am using AmpLocker with a subscription so I have many great amps to play around with, I have a question, would it be possible to use a clean amp like a JTM45 in the AmpLocker and use a physical pedal like a Friedman BE-OD connected to my audio interface and use it with the software JTM45 and software cabs and all other stuff that is in the AmpLocker and get a great tone in the Logic Pro ? I have never thought about blending real pedals with software amps until I saw this video.. thanks very much.
The whole stereo rhythm guitar bus is sent to the Dimension (chorus) FX track so everything that goes into rhythm guitar bus (rhythm guitars - no shit :-)) are being sent. I'm also sending lots of other stuff into that same Dimension FX track (bass, vocals, keys etc.) according to taste. I just tweak the send levels from each bus/track according to taste. Do you ever try and run chorus in the effects loop? I do prefer reverb, and chorus in the effect loop or after the amp in virtual software. Great video thank you!
Hallo Euge. Thanks for your explaings, thats always very interesting. I have also this chorus pedal, its a nice gear. But if i use this in high gain settings - Dual Rectifier- build 2000 i lost volume 😢 Is this normal? Greetings and Rock on🤘
What is the difference between the Boss Super Chorus and the Boss Chorus Ensemble? I have always used the Super Chorus with my clean tone. Never on the gain channels and always in the loop.
In a live situation, if you already use the overdrive for the rythn tome what you do for the solos? And, at which level do you have the gain on the jcms? Thanx
Nothing; I just play a solo and our FOH will take care of everything else (volume, panning, delays etc. what is his job = mixing). Fully open. ua-cam.com/video/iCS0SdPSjsk/v-deo.htmlsi=TDT8OzGdgY1E-XNH
Hello Euge, a question is there any difference in the sound between the Boss Chorus Ensemble and the Boss Super Chorus after the SD1 and in front of the amp? Greetings from Portugal. 😉
Hey Euge! Nice video man… I have a question, where in the chain do you put your chorus when you use it in front of the amp??? Before or after the OD1? Greetings from Canada 🇨🇦
From what I know, there’s no analog version of the CE-5… just like the CH-1, both are digital. The only one that is analog is the vintage CE-2 and the CE-2W
I think I forgot to mention that the Chorus is always after the SD-1. Or whatever overdrive I'm using.
For a few more US dollars, the MXR stereo chorus is uneatable!
I was a teenager in the 80s. Chorus will always be one of my favorite effects. It’s in my DNA. 😂👍
Euge my brother you are a friggin BAD ASS. Jesus man the knowledge you have is INSANE. BEST ON UA-cam.
Thanks!

Love my CE5’s. Always on in my rig for decades. They just give a bit of width to the sound 🤘🏼
Love my CE5 so much man.
Likewise 😎.

Great video. I like the clean sound with stereo chorus
Thanks! I have an MXR Chorus pedal that’s always on for some 80’s feel 🤟🏻
Thanks for the vid. Excellent analog chorus in the ADA MP1 too.

My fly rig was always the boss 3 pedal case, and just like you, I chose a chorus (super chorus) over a delay or verb. Loved it

Thanks for that!
Hello. Really excellent sound. Must I use overdrive pedal to play shred?
Great video! Could I get the same sound with the Mooer Cab X2, just using the latency on one channel?
My Seymour Duncan Catalina chorus always on in a loop

I like to pretend that Euga is the younger, much cooler brother of Vigo The Carpathian (Ghostbusters 2). The backwards hat really sells it.
With two guitars hard panned. How do you pan the effect tracks with chorus? Or does just one of those hard-panned get sent to fx?

I guess you didn’t watch the video?
I think I had too much wine, and got lost watching the video. Cheers.
😁
Love your videos Euge! What do you think of the JVM 410 vs the 1987x?
The chorus pedal belongs in the fx loop imo, so does delay but i think a phaser sounds best in front of the amp last in the chain.
For clean or gain sounds?
@@shethinksimironman Im alergic to chorus with gain so clean that is.
Hallo Euge.

Different pedal (no shit sherlock 😁) with a bit different controls and/so a bit different sound.
Yeah buddy mine is in the loop it’s pretty much maxed out. I have an MXR.

SD1 into the CE5...then JCM800 is always THE tone
Hello Euge, a question is there any difference in the sound between the Boss Chorus Ensemble and the Boss Super Chorus after the SD1 and in front of the amp?

Yes it’s a different pedal.
Is that a maple leafs hat on the 5150?
Yes
Hey Euge! Nice video man… I have a question, where in the chain do you put your chorus when you use it in front of the amp??? Before or after the OD1?

He uses CE-5 after SD-1
Thanks! After.
@@EugeValovirta230V thanks for the answer man! 🤘🏼😎
I always thought that putting effects in the loop would make them more pronounced, not more subtle.
I have a shit load of boss pedals, including the ensemble.

No idea.
