    Nebraska passed a law that communities can adopt, is the way I understand it. It's great. We love our 500! It's mighty on the big sand hill at Halsey National Forest in NE (A man made forest in the middle of the Sandhills.) We're so glad we got a narrow unit as we can go anywhere. The sand trails at Halsey are a hoot and we have never gotten stuck like some of the bigger guys! Go Baby Rex! You'll have a blast riding trails in Arizona or Utah! Yee haw!

      I’m hoping my channel will grow enough I’ll be able to do more traveling for it like Dirt Trax and Fishers ATV World gets to do. I’m off to a good start so maybe one day soon I’ll be able to get out that way and do some riding!

    We are slowly adding to Baby Rex! We love our P500 2017 and will be thinking about the soft doors! We live in Nebraska and winter is creeping in. So far I've used it almost everyday just running around town! Now I looked forward to grocery shopping! Lol! You crack me up. Keep the videos coming!

    I have a strap and buckle hanging down from the frame at the top, center of the doors. It's 6 or 8" long. There is nothing in the instruction about them. The only thing I can come up with is to be able to strap it around the roll bar to make it more wind proof on long trips or just to help secure the door. I didn't see them on yours.

    I’ve really been debating these Honda doors. They work per say I guess. Should be better for the cost IMO. Honda really needs to go to recessed/notched roll cage like can am an Polaris use an I think maybe even Yamaha now. That style roll cage is really the only way to achieve a true seal.

      Check these out offroadarmor.com/product/honda-pioneer-500-soft-door-kit/ what you think of them? I like the price vs the Honda ones an I like how you can roll them back out of the way an leave them on. Price isn’t to bad. I have the Honda poly/plastic roof an Honda tip out windshield. It’s hard to buy some accessories sight unseen. There’s a need for a national chain retail store that carries all these sxs accessories that’s out there!

    Hey man you should put a small electric heater in there I got one off of ebay 350 watt for my odes dominator 800. Pretty cool.

    • @AppalachianMountainRiders
      @AppalachianMountainRiders  7 років тому

      I may do that now that I have a volt meter and can see the strain on the battery. The little guy I use to keep the windshield from fogging throws out a good bit of heat its self and is strong enough to keep my hands warm but it could always be better.

      @@AppalachianMountainRiders Just installed the Inferno Cab Heater. Plumbs into the cooling system and comes with defrost and floor heat. Fairly easy install.

  • @JorgeGonzalez-be9vh
    @JorgeGonzalez-be9vh 3 роки тому +1

    I wanted to ask you if you are familiar with the Inferno Heaters that are made specifically for the Honda Pioneer 500/520? I just saw a video from the company that shows how to install the heater. Apparently, you run the radiator hose to the heater and they supply another hose that runs the radiator fluid back to the radiator. You're supposed to get good heat. It sells for $399. I would like to get your opinion. I spoke to a person at the company who said that they sell alot of them. Thank you.

    • @AppalachianMountainRiders
      @AppalachianMountainRiders  3 роки тому +2

      They are pretty good heaters but suffer from the same downfall all the small heater systems suffer from. Because they work off the engine coolant and pull heat from that. They don’t work well when your stopped and loose heat pretty quickly once you do stop. SxS have a relatively small about off coolant due to the smaller engines so there isn’t as much liquid to pull heat from. As long as your moving they will still push out enough heat to keep things nice and comfy inside though!

    Looks like a good idea. I have a set of tracks on my P500 and you get covered with snow. I can see them stopping the majority of it. When puddles hit the engine, does steam fog up the windshield with the doors on? Thanks for working at these videos.

    • @AppalachianMountainRiders
      @AppalachianMountainRiders  5 років тому

      It does steam up the window yes. I installed a little 12v heater to work as a defogger to compensate for it. Here’s the link for that vid. ua-cam.com/video/Hx2tcXMCkbE/v-deo.html

      It’s held up great! Still using it for cold weather. The clear vinyl has gotten a little yellowed but not bad bad. Probably mostly just dirt I fail to clean off…lol. The windshields is for utvwindshieldandaccessories.com but I don’t think they are around anymore.

    We had a cab on our 700 it was kind of aggravating you had to unzip the door to get in and out every time
    We recently bought a p 1000
    And are in the market for some quality doors
    Any suggestions

    • @AppalachianMountainRiders
      @AppalachianMountainRiders  4 роки тому

      I'm not actually too familiar with what's out there for the 1000 anymore as It's been over a year since I sold mine. There are hard door upper available I know that work on a latch and wouldn't have to be unzipped. The Pioneer 1000 that was at the last rock run meet and great had them I do believe. Easiest thing I can suggest it google for full cabs and see what's out there.

    I just received the doors for my P500 7/12/19, and a tag on the inside says do not trailer at highway speeds with the doors installed because it will damage them. Is that true at all and even if I have a full front windshield to keep incoming wind volume down and no back window to trap air volume in the cab? Seems silly to make an accessory that can't be trailered. What is your learned opinion and experience. Your videos are excellent by the way.

    • @AppalachianMountainRiders
      @AppalachianMountainRiders  5 років тому

      I have trailered with them but I unzip the windows and roll them up then use a couple ratchet straps wrapped through the cab and around the windshield to keep the wind from being able to catch them and rip them open.

    Hey what is the largest winch you can install on the P5

    • @AppalachianMountainRiders
      @AppalachianMountainRiders  4 роки тому +1

      I have a 3500 and it’s been plenty. So I would say any from that to 4500k would be sufficient. Any bigger than that you’ll start running into fitment issues unless you have a bumper you can top mount too.

    Just started looking at these want something about 50inch wide so the 500 or the rzr 570. How do you like it

    • @AppalachianMountainRiders
      @AppalachianMountainRiders  7 років тому +1

      +Reel Chaos Charters I love my little P5 and they are great, near bulletproof, billy goats that will go everywhere the more powerful machines go. However, if you are wanting to get there fast this is not the 50" for you. Top speed is only 41mph. Other than that, with some bigger tires for more ground clearance, I actually prefer my 500 over my Pioneer 1000-5 for most rides unless the family comes along. I have a one year review of the 500 if you haven't seen it make sure to check it out. I cover all the positives and negatives of the little guy.
