If I ever meet you in person I am buying you a beer or three. I spent two hours trying to figure out why my stupid piston would not collapse in the rear 🤦♂️thanks for all that you have done for the p5 community.
I spent as much time cleaning the mud off of the brake parts as I did replacing the pads. Expect about a half bucket full of mud! Thanks for the video.
Also, I noticed that you used Race Driven pads. Could you please post the part numbers for both the front and the rear? Did you order your pads from Amazon? Thank you!
Thanks for the tip on the swivel socket for the rear brake caliper. Good tip, made life easier. I removed both wheels and worked from both sides. Not too bad...
Nice video. One tip from me. When I'm doing brakes on a car or truck I always loosen the cap on the brake reservoir. It makes it easier to push the caliper back with the c clamp
Very similar to my rubicon 500 so this helped me out alot cuz i was confused and kinda iffy about doing it myself but with ur video it helped out thank u
Great vid, but I will add 1 thing... Do yourself a favor and anti-seize every bolt that comes out, you'll thank yourself later. 32's? OMG- Go big or go home… LOL. I'm excited to see your project, these pioneer 500s are geared super low. I was playing with the idea of 30s… But you went straight for it… 32s… I can't wait.
Hey Jason at 14:32 did you use the aluminum piece and the 2 shims on your new rear brake pads and my rear pads didn't come with that protruding bolt kind of think for the piston iwonder if it matters And I wonder if we we are suppose to reuse those shims and aluminum piece.....
I'll try to explain my dilemma on hondssxs and show you the shims.I cant find much info on aftermarket brakes that explains if we should use them or not..and just like you i did the fronts only like 800 miles ago and now i'm doing the rear..oh ya thanks for the video helps..
Definitely has to be the long travel kit. Of course it was the biggest change to but it completely transformed the ride(and with the ride, comfort)of the P5.
Any advice for adjusting the parking brake? I’ve tightened the wing nut. The handle feels tighter when I pull it, but the buggy still drifts when I’m on any slope. I checked the rear brakes, and they work. Thanks.
AppalachianMountainRiders I took my rear brake apart, cleaned everything with compressed air and brake cleaner, and put it back together. Unfortunately the parking brake still doesn’t work very well. The pads are still decent, but maybe I’ll replace them to see if that makes a difference. I have tightened the butterfly nut on the parking brake, but that made only a marginal improvement.

5 months later I’m watching this again because I have 1621 miles and mine pads are toast!!!
Keep up the great vids !

Great video. I think I could do it myself with your instructions. Thanks !
Thanks for the info. I’m fixing to have to change mine out.
the caliper slide pins can get hung up because of alot of mud and water... just a thought....
Your influencers page is very well thought out.... I just order the same brake pads there.
:)
Awesome! So far mine are holding up great! A little squeaky but but not much wear in 400 miles
Great video! Thanks.

Link to the two rear brake caliper mounting bolts?
Of all the things that you have put on your P500 what made the biggest difference. ? Thanks for sharing your videos

hi what's your mileage on your honda currently? and how many moto-hours?
I might need to replace mine I'm at 2200 but they are not squealing yet.

I’ve never had to mess with mine or even looked it over very closely...lol. I’ll take a look at it!
