Being in my late 20s, I loved hearing that Lucy was interning at 32 years old before her position at Vogue. Most have way too much pride to intern that "late in life" with all those 19 year olds-myself included! This has really changed my perspective. It's never too late to achieve your dreams!!

I feel like these videos are coming at a perfect time. I recently graduated university with a degree in criminology, but hated what I was studying. I've now applied to post-grad courses (journalism and pr). It's so refreshing to hear how many people had no idea what they wanted to do, and how many opportunities there actually are in the world of fashion. Looking forward to the next episode!

I think what makes this series - and this episode in particular - so brilliant is that it deals with perspectives and ideas that don't commonly come to light in these sorts of features; usually, the advice is repetitive and generic (intern lots, pay attention to detail, work hard, etc.) While those tips are valuable, I think the specific and thoughtful advice that Lucinda and Alex really delve into quite deeply here is TENFOLD. You really get a sense of what kind of workplace British Vogue is, and once again, I am floored by the talent, authenticity, and passion that this publication continues to breed. Thank you Alexa & Vogue for this look into your world! I hope to move to London and work for MissVogue someday, and am currently running my own digital publication with a staff of 20. Keep up the great work; I'll be waiting (im)patiently for the next installment.

What an honest and great piece. This truly is inspiring. Always wanted to work in fashion but figured it couldn't be and was more a passion ... so went the politics route. British Vogue is a really interesting institution, with its own 'soul' (for lack of a more ew word) and different from the French and American Vogues.

Im a top sportsman at my High School or College where I am in the premier Water Polo and First XV Rugby team and it is also my final year. I am currently in pre-season trials and training and have had offerings to trial for professional teams beginning next year. However all I can think about is fashion, whether it be styling, creating or whatever. I feel like I'm being torn between what Im good at and what I want to do. Im also nervous about what people will think of me, as fashion is still not perceived as 'manly' where I come from, especially if you are successful at 'manly' sports such as rugby. Sorry about the post I just needed to vent.

This was so helpful! The world of fashion/beauty publication has always been something I want to get into, but even though I've done a lot of research on it I never really got a straight answer. So it was nice to be able to hear what the people that are working at the place and in the positions I want to work had to say. Can't wait till part 2!

I love these series, they present fashion in such an accessible way and really show the evolving nature of the fashion industry and its ability to change perceptions and social movements. Fashion is so often perceived as a frivolous, unimportant topic, but the more experimental we make it the more innovative and boundary pushing it will become. It is a platform for individual voices and most importantly change! I'm a teenager and v interested in journalism - thanks for the series x

great video, but perhaps one of the major qs aught to be: how can non-white talents break into an industry and fashion magazine notorious for its lack of diversity? Rarely are any of these great profiles/docs reflecting the talent pool of UK womyn/men. It seems only person of color in the video are the token celebs and rare models on the cover or inside the editorial edition.

@MikeHunt that isnt all true. Thats like saying America is based only whites when Blacks and even Native Americans should be in the fashion as well. Youre only talking about a mahority of the honelands population when its only white or white-passing who should be the main face of productions. Because even in china and all mentioned faces are white looking "passing" if you will because of a long talked about issue of white-washing. Not every single country or continents production should solely focus on the majority of the population but the diversed. Not one diversed person in a sea of mahority in each departmebt just to say "we have a token ___ in this department"

    • @mikaelzurich6166
