i heard about this character the girl, not being very present in the tolkien story, but now i get why they choose her. thank you for the precision of your review. loved it. i haven't watch the movie yet, but now i will. on the side, will you do a quick review on the 2 dlc of return to moria ? or maybe next live ? take care master Zollin !! :)
I believe in the movie helm did indeed get surrounded during the fight cause the mornibg after when they showed him frozen with his fist raised ya can see enemy bodies all around him even propped up against the gate
Pretty much agree with most of your review. I mostly liked it, but some moments of the animation felt low on frames or quality and a couple of story choices were kind of meh imho, but generally not any major problems with the story or dialogue. I got worried a bit at first, thinking it would be too much of "girls are held back, even though we can do it all" kind of a movie, but in the end I think it was mostly fine, apart from a couple times. Also, the trilogy call backs were obviously present, but pretty moderate in their usage. A couple more than I would have liked, but still not too overused. I can't think of a reason why Gandalf would sent a letter to Hera about rings, apart from mentioning Gandalf for member berries, for example. Best parts were the sound design, music, audio effects and the Helm Hammerhand action scenes and voice acting. In conclusion, a fairly good Middle-Earth adaptation. Being the first anime effort, it could have been a bit more high budget to fix some of the anime quality imho, so that it could open the door wide for future endeavors, but still good enough in showing the potential of this medium, even though many fans don't like it.
Haha your fine. I am glad to hear your opinions. I don't think Hera breaks the lore. Personally I think using her is what kept them from changing original story if they had used one of the other characters. They would have had to change the lore in that case to make it make sense for the movie. But, thank you for your thoughts! I love to see all the ideas here in the comments! 😁
I think you hit the nail on head. There’s two main problems. The rings of power just had an insufferable female lead pushing political themes through the series, following hundreds or thousands of movies doing things on the same notes.. Also the majority of the audience for these things is male. So basically people won’t even give it a chance because their time, money, s3x, and intelligence have been insulted so much that they’ve just checked out. Because of the other reviews I wasn’t going to give it a chance but maybe I will now.
Yeah the shield maiden seems to be a bit of a m.sue and the two of them walking off sounds like Korra and Misami walking off into the spirit portal. PTSD

I like more hard core Tolkien fans like then don't. Great comments! I think the issue is the wider audience with specially being an anime.
The movie would've been better if Hera wasn't there. No I'm not sexist, it just breaks lore.
