- Get ready with me as I try some new drugstore makeup - new to me!
Wear Notes:
Foundation: This looked better after the oils in my skin combined with it. It did break apart so it's not a long-wearing foundation. It felt very light on me.
Concealer: This finally stopped creasing. It wasn't long-wearing
Mascara: This did flake a bit by the end of the day
Bronzer: This was too light for me so it was hard to tell if it lasted all day.
Blush: This did last all day, but I felt it was patchy
Eyeshadow (all over color): This last all day, but I felt it looked crepey
Eyeshadow (shimmer color): By the end of the day only the glitter was showing. The color was gone.
Brow Powder: This lasted all day - it's a winner

I def have mascara brush preferences! I keep brushes/wands I like. Wash them out and use them with mascara formulas I like that have brushes I hate. I leave the “hated” brush in it’s tube (because it fits it’s tube). I just take the “liked”brush I’ve kept and twirl/brush/ tap it on the “hated” brush to load it and put on mascara I like with a wand I like 😊

Ha ha! You’d be amazed what I get yelled at for. It just comes with the territory of being on UA-cam. You have to grow thick skin. Honestly most of my comments are very kind and uplifting, so I just ignore the negative Nellies. Thanks Phyllis!
It's not SPF. It's sunscreen. SPF is the amount of protection. It's wrong.

Hi Bobbie…Maybe try the spoolie to apply the new mascara since you like the formula but not the brush? I’ve done that before. Not ideal, but it works pretty well.
That’s a good idea Pamela. When you’re stuck with a mascara that you don’t like because of the brush, at least this way you could keep using it.

I envy you I have to wear glass all the time! I was ok until I started knitting with toothpick size needles and pearl cotton thread, counting the seed beads I transferred to the thread! I hate not being able to see!

Hey Bobbie! Love the tip about the "disposable" spoolies. I've always kept one or two applicators from old mascaras (well-washed, of course) around bc they're just so helpful for fixing oopsies! And I use "disposable" spongetip applicators too for shimmer and sparkle eyeshadows; somehow, getting the colors exactly where I want them just isn't possible with my fingertips and is way too messy! So thanks for this video. I like that lippie - I think I need it!

If I purchase a mascara and l love the wand, once the mascara is gone I hold on to the wand and use it for other mascaras😁

That Haley foundation brush is perfection! I love it! I tried that concealer and it was a no go for me. Under my eyes and right in the corner of my eyes are my problem areas :-( I really struggle with concealers in general! Thanks for another really good, relatable video!!!

I always get such a giggle over your antics with makeup. The powder before foundation thing is from Wayne Goss and Mrs MelissaM stating it makes your foundation set well. The No 7 powder, the new one in the white packaging is the same formula, so its OK to use up your old one and replace it with the new. Lol @ "goobers"! I thought my friends in school were the only ones who said that. 😊
I'm pretty sure I'd hate powder "before" on my dry skin, but I could see how that would be great for oily skin. Thanks Kathy!

Totally love your realism. (I'm 53 - at our age one needs humour when doing beauty.) I have the wet-n-wild matte eye pencil in lilac and I love it. That mascara brush scares me. I do like the essence princess mascaras.
I love the essence mascara’s as well. My favorite is the waterproof. The brush on that one is perfect for my smaller, hooded eyes.

Interesting approach to your brows (powder last). I'm a 64 yo with thinning and greying brows. I start with my powder (Palladio in Soft Brown - Amazon) to give a base, then a gel (the kind with a tiny mascara style wand) to set the hairs and define them more, and then use a brow pencil for any areas which are still sparse - brushing between each step. I end up with an extremely natural look! I'm going to try the method you outlined to see how it compares. Thanks for the idea Bobbie!!

Technically your sunscreen has SPF- sun protection factor. Pretty look for you, though I bet your first take of this video would have been fine!

Great video! I just started using a brow powder and I love how it turns out. you're right! I use that physician's formula SPF30 powder. It actually has a lot of coverage like a powder foundation. I use it on its own over moisturizer. I use a dense powder brush and a lot of the powder to pack it on. It's Light coverage but I use it when I'm in a hurry And don't have time to do a full face of makeup or wait for sunscreen to dry down. It doesn't look great upon 1st application but it absorbs oils amazingly and looks better as the day goes on. Amazon sells it a lot cheaper. It's not great under the eyes, So I use concealer and my typical under eye setting powder there. I hope that helps

I’ll give it a go over my moisturizer. I normally don’t try that look but once in a while I just need a little bit more but I still want to have a no make up look.
@@MindfulMidlife I hope it works for you. I think of that as a powder SPF, So you really have to pack it on and not use your typical dusting like you would a setting powder. I save it for times when I have to get up early morning say if I was gonna take the car to get it dropped off and the morning sunlight might hit my skin on the drive. I have also used it later in the day over my makeup If I want additional SPF when going out into the Hot sun. My favorite part is how long it lasts on my skin. I usually have to use an oil cleanser to get it off
I use Physicians Formula SPF 30 powder as my foundation over sunscreen. Still need concealer under eyes and to cover dark spots, but like it pretty well. Would be willing to try other foundations, but very few have SPF.

The look you achieved is very natural and fresh and pretty ! I think the eyeshadow needs more color though, they barely show up at all. I have the same Real Technique eyeshadow brushes and I LOVE them too !!! I really want a 2nd set but have never seen them anywhere ! It’s a bummer 😰😰😰
I agree Lisa. Maybe if I wasn’t self tanned, it would show up more but it’s just too much work. Real techniques needs to make those brushes again because they’re so good. Ha ha, maybe they’ll watch my video. LOL!

Hi Bobbie, I was thinking of trying the FB Concealer, but maybe I’ll pass. Most concealers settle in my lines too. I do love the FB Light Illusion Perfecting Powder & just ordered the FB Powder Blush to try out. That spoolie brush really worked well. I keep forgetting I have some, but I also have a lash comb that I use if I get clumps occasionally. I need to stick to waterproof mascara to keep the curl in my lashes. I’m done trying the regular mascara’s that claim to hold a curl. Not on my lashes ! 🤣😂 I’m still on the hunt for a liquid foundation that works for me, but think I may be a confirmed powder foundation girl for life ! Plus, I live in the Las Vegas area, and in the summer months it would melt off pretty quick. 🥵 Have a nice Memorial Day ! 🇺🇸🇺🇸

Jessop brush sets are supposed to be similar shape and like sigma brushes I can't see them being as good quality I mean sigma are lifetime brushes but they are an option for those of us who can't afford sigma

I dont know why people get so excited about sunscreen under make-up, i dont even wear thick make-up, but i dont get sunburn with it on anyway!!
It’s not so much about being sunburn but way more about the damage the UV rays have on our skin when it’s exposed daily. It ages us faster.
Have you tried the concealer “Kulfi”? I’ve v heard good things about it but idk…🤷🏻♀️

No, but I put make up on most days because I’m testing it for videos. If I’m not testing, anything new and I just wanna look good for the day I’ll just put on a brow pencil and mascara and I’m done.
They mostly say SPF on the bottle lol 😂 you don't need to diguise your bump you are absolutely stunning with it and it's what makes everyones faces different otherwise we would all be the same it's not out of proportion to your face and I would not have even noticed if you hadn't mentioned your beautiful eyes and great skin are the things people will see no one is looking at your bump I promise 🥰
