- In my quest to live a simpler life I had to downsize my makeup. I still have way too much for an average person, but I am not an average person. I review makeup on this channel. I still got rid of so much garbage makeup and some that was just way too old.

Thank you so much for realizing how much work this was. I do enjoy it, but this took me probably 10+ hours to edit. You would not believe how red my arm was when I was done filming. Ha, I don’t remember which one I used, but it was probably whichever one was on sale at the time. 🤗

This was so much fun to watch ! I hate throwing away makeup too, even if I didn’t like it ! Maybe you could ask your friends to come over and shop ? Or Rachel’s friends ? Or make a “free” basket and take it to work or church ? People might really enjoy that ! Thank you for all your hard work on this video and I enjoyed the music too ! 💕💕💕
I do have a few friends who are going to be going through the make up, which makes me feel better. I too hate throwing it out. It’s so wasteful and bad for our environment!
It’s so hard to get rid of expensive makeup we don’t like. I really should have returned a lot of what i have. Lesson learned.
I will not buy expensive makeup unless I can return it

Wow, I almost feel like a minimalist after watching!!! I have been tossing daily this year and made quite a dent in my supplies. It feels so good to declutter….
The best thing for lipsticks is those trays where they all stand up in rows. I went through all my lipsticks, threw out some that had gone off, then put them in rows of colour themes, from darkest tone to lightest. Best thing I ever did...now instead of scrambling through a bag of them, if I want a dark red, or a medium pink or a light nude, I just go the the right spot in the row and grab it straight away.. and I cut down to about 25 or 30 lipsticks, a lipliner for each base colour and a gloss for each base colour. Now I use them all, none getting thrown out without even being used, which makes me feel much better!!

Great video. I have a huge collection just because I like makeup. I am afraid I started buying makeup when my sister passed away and it seems to have become an addiction. I probably have enough of everything to last me for the rest of my life as I am 67 lol. I am trying to get it under control. I just love looking at it. Love decluttering until it comes to my eyeshadow palettes... But now in my 50s, I mostly use good quality eye pencils and cream eye shadow sticks, to smudge and/or define my eyes, rather than having all these palettes that I honestly never use as they do not last on my eyelids anymore! I have kept some neutral mat ones to use with my pencils and that's it. I struggle each time to keep or to give but I end up giving most of them away... The cream waterproof ones, make my eyes look more fresh and more defined!
I'm the same - it's like they are my friends and I can't get rid of them. Ugh!
Oh I’m exhausted after watching this. Years ago I was encouraged to become an influencer on utube. Im glad I didn’t. I could never try so many products as you so nicely do for us watchers. I only have my favs in my drawer (some you threw out😢btw) but I would too if I had as many products as you have. Music was great!! Fun to watch.
Haha, my makeup is on a constant state of coming in and going out. It exhausts me sometimes as well but it’s the nature of what I do.
I subscribed a week or so ago. I really appreciate that you are an older lady, like me, that loves make up. I can't get more than two lip products, because it gives me cold sores - I have never thought of testing them on my arm!! I think the city lips is over-rated, too.
I will never buy anything ending in gasm! It just irritates me for some reason.
I've been saying that I'm going to scale down my collection for two years now. I used to do bridal make up, prom make up etc. I haven't done any of that for years, so I must stop kidding myself that I need all of this stuff!

OMGsh, I’m doing the same thing! I don’t have as much makeup and tools as you have, but too much to keep. I hate throwing away stuff because I feel like it’s money in the trash! My new mantra - only replace what I actually need. If there’s a new product I want to try, I must use up what I currently have if it’s working for me before I buy new. I will say, I buy doubles of stuff that I absolutely love so I don’t run out. If I buy new, an old product in the same category must go! ❤
Agreed Patti! Because I do this for videos I try to only purchase what I am actually going to either use for myself or I have a specific video in mind for the purchase.

Great declutter; this was a time consuming endeavor. I recently went through make-up, skin and body care products and tossed expired and old products. I give away what I can.

For things you want to pass on but don’t want to share your bacteria, you can spray the surfaces of the makeup with 70% isopropyl alcohol. You need a fine mist sprayer so that it looks and functions okay afterward. Containers can be rubbed down with it, too. I do this to my seasonal makeup with each season change. I’ve been able to use powder makeup and some creams long past their expiration date with no ill effects. And I have hypersensitive skin.

Loved this! So fun! And yes - review the Revlon Colorstay again. I have the one for normal to dry skin and the wear time is amazing! I wasn’t a fan of the finish (they claim natural, but on my looked totally matte), but now that I have been using the Elf Halo Glow under it, I am in love!
The Elf halo glow really does make a difference on some of those more matte foundations. You are reminding me to try that with some of them. Thanks, Jen!

Thank you so much! For spot, concealing, I really like the Nars cream in the pot. It’s pretty thick, so I would never use it under my eyes but it’s perfect for hiding a blemish or two or five 😂. My favorite bronzer is a cream, so I really love the revolution cream bronzer.
What a great feeling that must have been! I laughed through the eyeshadows, 50 (150) shades of brown! Same for me! I did a big declutter a few months ago and should do it again. I'm being much better at impulse buying...it's not easy some days.
Right!? I do gravitate towards all the neutrals. Yes, impulse buying is a real thing for me as well. I have to be careful to not buy on the thought that I will do a video. I’m trying to have specific videos in mind that will use what I have first and only buy if I have to.

Are the shimmers in the Sephora eyeshadow palettes heavier than a satin finish (which I prefer)?
Long, winded babbling 😂😂😂! I agree! I am not a fan of decluttering videos, but so many said they wanted to see one, so I thought I’d give it a try. I’m glad to know that it was more entertaining than you thought it would. The shimmers and the Sephora palette are amazing. I’m not a huge fan of the darker colors in the blues one but that’s just a preference of not dark colors.
I decided to do some makeup decluttering while watching your video. Then, during your cream eyeshadow section, I had to get up and dance. 😂😂😂 Can you tell me what’s playing then? It ended just before bronzers. I’m decluttering a lot of the same things you are so I keep pausing to grab whatever I have that you have. 😂

Spring cleaning! I love this!! So many foundations how do you choose! Surprised you decluttered the Charlotte Tillbury foundation, I find myself buying more and more skin tints although I don’t have many foundations any more. Maybe I will give one of these ago!
Sadly, Charlotte Tillbury foundations just do not look good on me. My daughter took those so thankfully they will get used. They are extremely expensive.
Great job! I was a little surprised you kept so many cream eyeshadow sticks. On camera at least, A LOT of the colors looked identical. The only thing I was sad to see go was the Essence Bonjour Paris palette -- I love that one and use it a lot. Totally agree with you about City Beauty! I think it's a terribly overpriced and underwhelming brand.😃
Yes, I think I’m going to have to go through my cream, shadow sticks again, and whittle down some of those same colors. I know, I hardly used the essence palette, but I just didn’t like how it looked on me.

Just watch this video and I'm curious about your makeup brushes on the table there toward the end of the video do you have content explaining the uses for each brushes and which one you prefer over others? I have an overabundance of brushes and honestly I'd love to declutter and I'd like your opinion on which ones are the best! I'm ready to chuck all these and start over again 😂

My favorite are BK Beauty brushes. They aren't cheap, but they are amazing. I made a video recently about which ones I actually use consistently. I was looking to purchase the Clinique Sheer Tint Hydrator. Can you please share why you chose to declutter that one?
If I use a sheer tint, it has to look amazing on my skin because it’s not going to cover up anything. The Clinique did nothing to make my skin look good. I also do not think it was hydrating. I did have severely dry skin when I tried this so it’s very possible that it will look amazing on someone who has slightly dry or normal skin.

How can you tell expired? I've not noticed a date.
There's a symbol that looks like a jar with a number on it. That says how many months once it's opened that it's good for. Sometimes there is an actual date.

I do use highlighters occasionally, but not very often. I forgot to show them because I actually had none to declutter.
That is too mych to take in. Could you just do a top 2 in the different types of makeup you prefer without all the other stuff? Maybe include body lotions, perfume, etc since it would be a shorter film.
I dont wear alot of makeup so I'm not tempted to spend $ on stuff that doesnt work.
I love decluttering videos, but honestly, I need to turn this off of the music
