The points and edges do not look straight in the squares sewn together. Why is that if the pieces are cut straight. I was close to ordering this until seeing this.

Cutting is only one component of quilting. If your piecing isn’t accurate, you’ll have pieces that don’t quite match. Pretty sure that’s what happened here.
