I bought this system a couple of years ago and I love it. I just ordered the 8” cube angles and corners and I’manxious to use them. The 2 1/2”
Stripe die is wonderful! You already know how much faster they are. I cut the strips and 2 1/2” blocks. For the rail fence it sure helped.

I'm so excited to see this video about the Accuquilt Go! I just got one handed down to me by a very elderly neighbor who sadly cannot sew anymore. It came with 3 dies, and I asked for a few for more dies for Christmas. This was an awesome video Yvette. Hope to see more with you using it to make a project. Love ya! xo

I bought mine in 2014. I bought the big crank studio. And all the stip cutters and I have so many. It makes cutting so much faster. I love how they have there box sets now. I have a bunch of applique dies also. The one that activated me most was the die for making rag quilts. I went with the crank studio because if the power went out, I could still you it. I would love to get more. My favorited are Sun bonnet sue and sam.

I have the Go Big and I love it. To be honest, I had purchased the Go that you have but when they carried it out to my car, they made a mistake and gave me the electric one. It was at christmas time and I had been at my LQS. When I got home and went to take into my house I discovered the error. Being on a weekend I call them on Monday to see about bringing it back and picking up the correct machine. I was in total shock when the owner told me to just keep it and said Merry Christmas, it was there error and I called them to get it corrected. I love this machine. I like the different strip cutters as well as the different squares and hst dies. I had purchased the 9" cube when I bought the machine. I use it all the time I find getting straight strips easier to cut them down to the size I want. Also love the hst dies. The only flower die I have is the Edyta one. I will have to remember to go thru you next time I want to purchase dies. Happy Cutting!

I got the Go! in about 2006. I love it. Perfect cuts every time. I have the apple core and drunkards path dies, two I would never want to cut by hand. And many, many more. I got 2 of the cube systems for Christmas, but I haven't had a chance to use them. I would love the electric one for the dies that only work with that one, BUT it is beyond my budget. I doubt I will ever have one.

I have the electric Go Big! and love it. I got it a few years ago when it was cheaper and my son bought it for me for Christmas!, I have a great son. I’ve got the 12” cube set, 2 strip cutters and a bunch of other dies. I do have arthritis so the Big was necessary but it’s worth every penny. I just wish you could use dies from other companies with the Accuquilt brand but you can’t. The Sizzix cutters can use Accuquilt dies and other brands so it makes it a little more versatile but they work the same. The Studio size is much bigger and requires different dies that are more expensive. The Go is great for personal needs. Studio would be more for a quilt shop. But I hope you enjoy your new one and the 8” cube. They are awesome to have. I want the 8” and 6” but have to prove I have more of a need first. Lol. Happy New Year!!!

I've had Go! Big (electric ) for a bit. Finally starting really trying to master it. I am becoming a big believer and have started to look at quilts now with an eye for how to use my accuquilt. I do have a fair amount of dies collected. Currently working on a Christmas bed quilt using Hunter Star die but in 3 colors. The star points instead of alternating colors are all white. I am loving it and think it would be a great layout for a RWB QOV, too. edited to add, I use the 2.25 strip die for binding ALL.THE.TIME. I have a collection of most of the strip sizes now and any sashing or borders I make are quickly cut. Since you mentioned it, the Go! Big electric is a bit wider than the Go!, so able to accomodate the wider die available.

I got my last year. I like it but I really haven’t used it yet for piecing but I do use my 2.5 inch strip cutting die for all my binding strips. Luv that. Got to get more in to it.

    • @sharletmatak5416
      @sharletmatak5416 4 роки тому

I took a class at a quilt store on converting regular patterns and it was helpful. It does take some planning time to do it but once you've figured which dies to use, it's great! Especially if you're making the same shapes for many blocks, such as flying geese or half/quarter square triangles, etc.

I went to their first Accuquilt Retreat back in I think 2009. I have over 125 dies now and have used most of them a lot. Use your octagon die for paper piecing also. Watch the Accuquilt videos because you have to put the fabric on the die and send it in certain way 'straight of grain' or your squares you cut will not all be the same size. The videos will help you do so much more with your dies. Eleanor Burns has a video out on UA-cam every month showing you how to make a whole quilt for that die. Enjoy it what you have.

Thanks for your video. I bought the Go recently (already have the Go Baby) but I only got the cutter, Value die, pick and mat,. In the UK we can't get the "Ready, Set Go system, not sure why. The Go cutter can be used both ways, have the handle towards you to get the benefit, bad posture causes back pain (believe me, I know!) It's good to get to hear the consumers point of view rather than that of the Accuquilt staff, so thanks for your opinion.

I am now reviewing any quilt pattern I’m going to use and highlighting any blocks that I can cut with my Accuquilt. If you have an embroidery Machine they are now including free digital files you can use with their newer appliqué blocks. Love the cubes and strip die. You’re really going to enjoy your new Go! I noticed that the cube will work with the Go Baby and if all the dies you already have fit the go baby the strips are the only ones you need the bigger cutter for pretty expensive I think I will stick with my Go Baby. I think they even have a strip cutter for that but it doesn't cut as many at one time.

Hello, I have had an Accuquilt for over a year now, it’s very useful. My blocks rarely need to be squared, easily cuts complicated blocks, see tutorials on the Accuquilt site. Appliqué pieces are so much fun to create. I am currently using the Flowering Snowball die, which is a block on board. You are only limited by your imagination. Enjoy quilting!

I see that your video was a while ago, but you mentioned that you don't have to force the die in. I just purchased the Go Me yesterday and find that I have to push it through which is not easy because I have to hold it, push it through, and roll it all at the same time. Do you think that it will start rolling better? I tried two pieces of fabric and it still was difficult to manage to roll it through.

Well, you should not have to force it. You should only have to give a tiny bit of assistance until the roller catches and that's it. The handle should run it through. You would have to contact AccuQuilt about it. Go to their website. At the top right there is a Help drop down menu. Select CONTACT US and send them a message. I'm certain they'll make it right for you. Let me know how you go. xoxo

You talk about the handle to roll to cut the fabric: I had surgery in my 2 shoulders and very often they don’t stay well aligned! But my Accuquilt Go is like a hot knife in butter. I am very able to roll the handle to cut because it’s so smooth ans easy to do. I recommend this machine with the dies! And I am not paid by Accuquilt!

I just want to stress that, when using any of the Accuquilt cutters, be sure to read and follow directions on straight of grain when cutting. It DOES make a difference when you sew your pieces together. You'll have a much better outcome (less stretching on bias, wonky squares, etc.). Speaking from experience!

Looking at comments it seems it's popular. I could see having it for applique but not so much for cutting quilt patterns - but hey! Can you iron on the fusible to the fabric before you cut it? I have a ScanNCut (still in the box!) that I could used to cut shapes with the fusible already ironed on. I could see this as a great tool for production cutting especially if someone did a subscription box. I think they're too expensive for me and my senior budget but thanks for sharing. I hope you'll do a tutorial/project made using the dies. A lot of their dies are on sale right now.

I have one, I got it because sometimes I can feel the arthritis starting to creep into my hands. I love it, but do have issues sometimes with them (shapes) not coming out exactly the right size. I LOVE the strips, and have found that for square shapes, if I starch first they are more accurate. *BUT* I will also admit I don't always pay attention to grain, so any issues where the shape doesn't come out could totally be user stupidity. ;) I would love to get the alphabet and number dies!

The problem I have is that most of the quilt patterns have you cut their way with the line drawn for the 1/2 quarter triangles so if you don't use their patterns you find you're not getting the use out of your dies. Small problem but I thought I would mention it.

This video covers two sizes of AccuQuilt fabric cutters. It introduces the smaller GO Baby fabric cutter, but then it covers the larger GO fabric cutter in much more depth beginning with its unboxing.
If you are mainly interested in seeing what the AccuQuilt GO fabric cutter does and the basics of how to use it, I would suggest that you begin watching this video at 12:30. From that point on you will see the unboxing, the GO fabric cutter, all of the included parts such as mats and dies, the special Cube, and the printed instructional materials. Yvette also gives a demonstration of the GO at work, cutting actual fabric squares.
You can then go back to to the beginning of the video where Yvette shows you the smaller GO Baby cutter and talks about various dies that you can purchase for that cutter. For the first 12 minutes of this video, I kept wondering when it was going to get to the heart of the AccuQuilt itself. The first 12 minutes are okay, but best viewed after you watch the second part of the video from 12:30 minutes on.
I wish Yvette had ironed the fabric she used in the demo before recording the video.
