Watched this because of Chris from venture4wd. He speaks so highly of your business that I was excited to see this. Not sure I could ever afford it but it for sure is cool. Thanks for taking care of Chris.
I saw a 35'' tire fitted to the tire holder on the Mod Cap in this video. With the Canopy Camper, wasn't the max tire size a 33''? Did they make the door wider on the Mod Cap to better accomodate a 35? Or has a 35 always fit with a little bit of coercing / trimming? Really curious about this as it would be a HUGE benefit to me to be able to fit a 35'' spare on the door!
First step is drain it. Then leave the valve open and the cap off as you drive around when not in camp mode. This will typically get rid of all the water in the tank within a few days. If you have the liberty of keeping your truck in a garage, you can do the same and run a dehumidifier and it’s more effective.
Around 550 lbs. It is still in the design phase so the product will change a bit before the production model is released. We will then have definitive weaghts.
We work with two products, each is used in different areas of the install, a ribbon sealant to seal larger gaps and Sika Flex, similar to the flexible adhesive used to seal your windshield. Depending on if you plan on removing the sleeping area, for a larger version or the available flat roof, you would use the ribbon sealant. If you want a much more permanent seal, we use the sika flex.
Lovin’ it. I’ve been holding off, looking at every option, and this looks pretty amazeballz. They’re making it harder for me to say no to this more plush setup. Now, which platform: Tundra? ZR2? RAM?

I run a 35 on the back door of my canopy camper no problem!
Some have fitted a 35" tire to the rear door of the Canopy Camper.
You will need to trim the passenger side molle panel on the passenger side found on the rear of the camper.
I remember talking to one of your guys last year about building a ikamper style tent by alu cab 😊😊😊
Mt question about the water tank is how do you remove all water when not in use? The drains seem to not be the lowest point.

This is legitimately why I havent bought an Alu Cab canopy camper yet. This is now on the shopping list!! Fantastic work Alu Cab!!
Fantastic!
Wow! You guys are doing a great job.
Thanks so much!
Yep, another great video full of well explained ideas. Super fantastic stuff!
Glad you enjoyed it!
What is the approximate weight of the ModCAP Family without build out?
Around 550 lbs. It is still in the design phase so the product will change a bit before the production model is released. We will then have definitive weaghts.
What seals the tent to the camper so there is no leaks there?
We work with two products, each is used in different areas of the install, a ribbon sealant to seal larger gaps and Sika Flex, similar to the flexible adhesive used to seal your windshield.
Depending on if you plan on removing the sleeping area, for a larger version or the available flat roof, you would use the ribbon sealant. If you want a much more permanent seal, we use the sika flex.
Is there any way to add AIr Conditioning to this set-up?
we have portable air conditioners that we sell. Check out Zero Breeze portable air conditioners. But nothing that can be permanently installed yet.
Will the shower cube and shadow awning still be able to be fitted to the larger tent?
Good question 🤔. I would imagine the awning on the one side, but not certain about shower cube as well
Another question is what side do you guys no who drive on the left normally fit your awning? If it is the right the tent would need to be mirrored🤔
Will they offer a rear door option for those who want to keep the tailgate?
Unfortunately no. All Alu-Cab Campers will require removing the tailgate.
Alu-Cab is working on mounting solutions for the awning. It will be mounted to the drives side of the vehicle.

You aren't getting 4 "adults" in there remotely comfortable to sleep...
Yeah, it'll def sleep 4 adults very comfortably with plenty of room when sleeping across the width of the sleeper top.
