Plenty of people can convey the sounds of music but a talent like Yoyoka conveys the LOVE of music. I am literally in tears of joy when I listen and watch her play.
I have followed Yoyoka since she was 7 yrs old in which she did a cover by the Led Zeppelin band called " The immigrant song" She has done two or three other covers by L.Z. She claims that Jon Bonham is her favorite drummer. I knew then that she was going to take the world over. She won best drummer in the world in 2019. She is 10 yrs old and there really are not the words to describe her but if I had to pick 3. They would be EPIC, MIRACULOUS and MIND BLOWING. Okay thats technically 4 but this child prodigy is like a modern day Beethoven on the drums!
I made the exact same faces when I saw her play for the first time. She's not only good, it's that you can tell she loves playing. You really can't avoid smiling when you watch her play.
I live in Queens New York there’s so much hate right now, To see the joy on your face such a joy You’re playing is magical you are a Shining Angel 😇 God bless you🥁
Jamel thank you , first for being real and honest, second for keeping the video's coming at record pace. i'm a 53 year old guy from Cleveland a drummer , I can watch and see you living these experiences for the first time and enjoying the hell out of it all,, that's why I keep coming back to watch more , the world needs more people like you
The girl is amazing. I’m not really into the music but it gives me joy watching her play the drums. The passion she has, and the joy she gets out of it is obvious, she’s incredible.
I loved your reaction! It is crazy how this kid can hit it perfectly!! The drummer who performed that, can’t hit it that perfect, outside the studio! And she 10! 10 years ago, was in her moms belly! I loved your reaction 😂
Hey Jamel! Love your channel! We need more like yours....and Yoyoka? You keep rockin' little one! You are the best! The BEST of the best! God bless you..........
And she’s self taught since 2 years old! Dayum! Because in her words, “I’m too lazy to learn how to read music.” Haha - no need girl, you’re killing it
Two things. His face at 7:20, priceless. That drummer is a 10 year old girl? Maaad freaking props to her. She killed it. I need to look her up and listen to some of her jams.
Right now Yoyoka is incredible. She has been given a great gift, and it will carry her far far into the future. Besides her drumming just love her energy and joy. I wont be waiting to hear my fav (Grateful Dead) from Yoyoka. No worries though she is doing what she loves. Great respect to you Jamel and of course to Yoyoka. Nothing left to do but smile...
"That poor snare" is right. Lol. She beats the living crap out of the drums, while staying technical outstanding. Plus she's super cute, & she always looks like she's having a blast. There are a lot of good drummers, but there's absolutely no drummer anywhere who's more fun to watch
There was a young lady, Emily, on UA-cam who was also killing it on the drums. I have not seen anything from her in a couple of years. The earliest videos I recall are from when she was just eight years old. The last ones, she was about 12, I believe. She was super cool and had serious chops. She wore a t-shirt that said, "hit them like a girl." Well, she hit the like Bonham.
I have been watching this young lady for 3 years she is just getting better and stronger you are looking at probably the best drummer ever to play ever
How could anyone give this a thumb down, she is 10 and she is a great drummer and just look at that face she absolutely love 's what she's doing. I know people in they're 60s who have not found something they love doing this much. God bless her heart.
Think of all the talented youngsters just like Yoyoka that haven't discovered their own talents because they're glued to their phones. The joy on this girls face says it all. Priceless.
It really seems that way, doesn't it? We've lost Buddy Rich, Bonzo, Neil Peart and so many other greats. I'm so grateful we have Yoyoka doing her part to fill the void they left behind.
You haven't even seen her double kick that bass yet haha Long time subscriber of hers. It's a crime she just recently broke 100k subs. She should have far more! It's just pure joy to watch her play.
She did a living room session during this covid-19 crisis together with her family members. They played this song then with her mother on vocals, you really, really should check it out :)
I was just about to make the same recommendation, but then I saw you got to it first. I second it! Here's the link: ua-cam.com/video/slPcweQ_Bg4/v-deo.html
Apart from all the other incredibleness I love the way she doesn't show off, she's at the service of the song. That makes it all the more amazing when she cuts loose at 5.59 - 6.15
So very cool I love that girl she's amazing what a great drummer what a great personality and to get to watch you respond to her performance makes it even more fun!
Jamel, your reaction when the song was over was priceless! I have said it before and i am gonna say it again, the world is a better place with Yoyoka rockin it!
Can you even imagine 10 years from now? I hope to live long enough to witness that! There are many gifted kids in the world but she sure is something special!
There's a video of Robert Plant (Led Zeppelin) being shown a clip of Yoyoka during an interview where she is covering one of their songs. It's short but worth a watch 😊
Yoyoka the legend. Her mom is ghe coolest. They have a live version of this where her mom sings (droppin the f bomb yeah) and family members on bass and guitar.
Her covers of Led Zeppelin's Good Times Bad Times, and Deep Purple's Burn are awesome. I mean, she's going after the cream of the crop of drum players: Bonzo, Paige... After watching her play the cover of Burn Ian Paige said hers is the best drum cover of this song he's heard. She's fun watch. After she gets you into the wild ride of the hard stuff, she giggles or smiles at the end of the song and makes you realize you're watching a phenomenally talented little kid having a lot of fun.
I love that little wave she does with the drumstick - she just got done beating the hell out of those drums then smiles like a Disney princess. Awesome.
Yeah man I found her channel a few weeks ago. She’s so good. Apparently she’s factory sponsored by Pearl Drums and Zildjian cymbals now. Which are big, big name companies. Good for her. 👍
Thats good to hear. Yeah she flows, she very humble and very appreciative her fan base. She just received an award from UA-cam as well. I wish the best for her.
@@MyMomo17 Dave Grohl is a world class human being. I love his interviews as well. Even David Bowie commented about how significant and informed his views and opinions are. Dave went through his own personal hell after Cobain left us. He wrote music for the Foo Fighters for catharisis.
So glad you keep the videos coming Yoyoka, every time you play i am uplifted. You are gifted. Yes you are a natural but you also have a great attitude and work very hard. You will go very far and raise the hearts of many all over the world.
You ought to see her rock Led Zeppelin's "Good Times Bad Times." On your own time, anyway, since it would get blocked as hell. Then watch Robert Plant being interviewed about it. It's great.
@@JediDoughBoy she's been hitting those triplets since she was maybe 7. I don't even know how she did it with 7-8 year old feet. She looks like she keeps her heel up. Just fantastic technique
Good Times Bad Times was my first Yoyoka cover, and since then, I have never stopped being amazed by her immense talent and genuine love for music. She is just adorably bad-ass.♥️
I just watched a reaction video last night from Ian Paice, drummer of the group Deep Purple, reacting to her cover of their song Burn. He is totally impressed saying that, as far as a faithful reproduction of the album version, she gets more of it right than he does.
Oh good lord, I'm blown away by this! After Bernie suspended campaign sadly today, I posted an image of him with the words RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE around him (it went viral-easy to find), and the next thing I saw on my feed was THIS. I literally cried my eyes out watching this ten year old. holy holy holy shit.
She's bad ass and plays in her socks🧦. And smiles as she plays. I saw her on Ellen and she said she started playing at 2 years old. And it shows!!! love Yoyoka.
Of course Yoyoka Soma oozes such incredible talent; her impeccable 'quartz crystal' timing and precision and exuberant style redefines "Japanese movement"!! ⌚😛 But the addition of her pure joy and sunburst personality illuminates every nook and cranny of your soul. I also loved watching you completely gobsmacked at the end of her performance. 🤣👍
Oh forgot. She also got to play a song live with Cyndi Lauper when Cindy was touring Japan. She has some killer covers of Toto and Grand Funk Railroad too. Really advanced stuff.
Hi, Jamal...I have been following Yoyoka for over a year or two now and I think she is nothing short of a genius. I think she has an amazing career ahead of her. She is already a star at ten years old.
simply amazing young lady ! just amazing. just love her big smile and the stick wave so cute . her parents must be so pleased ! You need to look her up she has been banging out songs since she was 7 or 8?
