Yes, he mentioned a point where she initially got it wrong, then got it right. (It all sounded great to me!) But he also said he had a hard time with certain points that she nailed. Keep in mind that she's 11. Damn..
Ian Paice himself reacted to her and he said she hits harder then he does. Mind you this is an 11 year old kid, the stamina and strength that she has to play this song for more than 6 min straight is mind blowing.
The craziest thing is she learns the songs she plays for youtube generally in 1-3 hours (not months/years) and plays them in one take. And she doesn't even read music yet but learns by ear.
Yoyoka is the 11 year old percussive heir apparent to one of history’s greatest rock and roll bands that has yet to form. I only hope I live long enough to witness it.
She is more than a great drummer. She is the ambassador to happiness! I don’t care who you are or where you’re from, you can’t watch her and not smile 😊 that’s much more than just being a great musician.
One amazing thing about Yoyoka is that she is largely self taught. She gets some lessons but she mainly learns on her own. She said on one of her videos that it takes her two or three attempts to get the drumming for a song down. Yoyoka is fairly well known in Japan. As others have said the whole family (mother, father, little brother and Yoyoka) are a band. They've toured the country a few times, she's been featured on commercials (a bigger deal in Japan than here), and is a cultural/goodwill ambassador for Hokkaido, the northern island where she lives.

Her parents had her on stage playing the drums in their band when she was barely a toddler! So she's been playing for almost a decade already. I just love her enthusiasm after playing for so long. And she has the personality & intelligence to become a legend, if she wants.
She makes it looks absolutely effortless.. hopefully she will always enjoy it this much throughout her life.. I've been subbed to her for a couple years now and I'm in my 50's..
This young lady just has so much fun doing these covers, you can see it in her face. I recently watched Ian Paice, the drummer for Deep Purple, react to this drum cover. He was amazed and her speed and joy doing it. As he was watching at one point he said "this is where I usually mess up", she didn't.

This kid plays as good as anyone I've ever seen! But I've only seen about a thousand concerts. One of the two best drummers I've ever seen live is Ian Paice. Yoyoka is already as good, at eleven, as he ever was.

I was watching an interview in Japanese, she started playing at 18 months old, and has been playing as long as she can remember. She learned to drum while she was learning to speak and her playing is integrated as essential a second language. Learning a new song or technique is like you learning a new word.

One of the things I like so much about Yoyoka; as a 22 year resident of Japan; is that she quite obviously LOVES what she's doing. Murdering music is required for just about all kids here, (the sheer torture of recorders in class still has me waking up screaming!), but Yoyo-chan not only chooses great music; not only does it incomparably well; but also enjoys doing it; unlike (sadly) so many of her fellow Japanese kids. Kudos to her family for supporting her too.
Yoyoka is now the Visiting Professor at a Tokyo University. She's 11 years old now. She is the youngest drummer to ever be inducted into the Drummer Hall Fame Top 500 Drummers. She is a genius.
