Welcome to my channel! This is a music reaction channel. For the longest time, I've loved creating content on the internet. I started off with a gaming channel right here on UA-cam, which eventually turned into a Twitch gaming channel, but as time has gone on I've evolved into doing other things on UA-cam. For years now I've wanted to create a music channel on UA-cam, and recently just figured "why not?", so it’s time to give this a go! Give me any suggestion you have for music reactions, and I will do my best to get around to them. As music has fallen further out of my life, I figured this would be a great time to get reintroduced to music.

Wrote this for his then girlfriend Donna whose parents disapproved and forbade her to date him.
You must watch the La Bamba movie in your spare time.Lou Diamond Phillips plays Richie,and Esai Morales is stellar in the role of his troubled brother.
In the movie the band Los Lobos was actually performing Ritchie Valens songs and none of the original recordings were used.
So sad in 1959...I think Ritchie was only 17 when he died. Rest in sweet peace, young man...and Buddy, and the Big Bopper (Hellooooooooo baby!)

I remember this song on the radio, it was popular back then. He, Buddy Hollie & the Big Bopper were all on the radio, just starting their singing careers when they died in a plane crash together, so sad. Ritchie Valens wrote this song for his love, Donna.👍💙

@@konradv7 Jennings said it was Tommy Allsup that Valens won the coin toss with. Jennings had given up his seat willingly to JP Richardson (The Big Bopper) because he was so obviously sick.
Richard Valenzuela, known professionally as Ritchie Valens, pioneered the Spanish-speaking rock and roll movement 66 years ago. His influence on the early rock & roll sound
cannot be understated. His death in the plane crash with Buddy Holly is known as "The Day The Music Died.

Another great song from years ago you seem to really enjoy a wide variety of music. There was a song that when I was about eight years old really really struck to me couldn’t get away from it years later I went back to listen to it over and over again, really touching songs, called Greenfields by the brothers four , thought you would really like it
Just to make it easier for him to find, it was "The Brothers Four" who did it.

I inherited this record from my older brother, along with an Everly Brothers album. They're great too! Check out Wake Up Little Suzie by them!
Another one that brings back a great memory. 1960, we had just moved to a new neighborhood. One day I walked by a house and heard someone accompanied by only a guitar singing this song beautifully. I was standing on the sidewalk when a kid I had met earlier came up and said, "He sounds great doesn't he?" I said yes and asked who it was. He told me his name and I said "Wow, he's in my homeroom at school!" We became best friends very quickly, we were both beginning guitarist. Now we're both 76 years old and still best friends! He lives about 60 miles from me and every few weeks he and my younger brother, who lives about 75 miles from me, get together for jam sessions with our guitars and keyboard (and my hamonica). Definitely one of the highlights of my retirement years! Nothing quite like good times with old friends and family.

When I was 10 years old I had a huge crush on a girl named Donna. This song played often on the radio and added to my distress but it gave me the courage to tell her that I really liked her. When I expressed to her my undying love, she smiled affectionately at me and promptly kicked me in the nuts. sigh

Their genres cover several styles of music such as, indie-rock, garage-rock, post-punk, alternative-rock, just to name a few.

When you're in the timeframe of this song... As a hormonal middle-schooler, the song was a major chance to slow-dance with the 13 year-old girl of your lustful dreams at the teen club. Thank you, Ritchie!
