Picked up one of the 2 man ones to go hiking with either of the kids or them to sleep in when I hammock. Condensation is a given for tents like these, being single layer and all. But for a quick night or two I bet it will do fine :)

Yes as a cheap overnighter it does the job. Can't put up with it multi day tho personally.

I like learning how to pitch a tent. I'm the first visitor. It's an honor.

ALL tents get condensation, with it being single skin you noticed it more. I do a lot of miles with mine and wouldn't have any other. You can pay £800 for a tent and still have condensation issues..

True. Condensation always an issue. That tent is great value for weight..

Good entry into lightweight tenting if you can tolerate condensation and are small. Hows it going John? I'm thinking of doing the coast to coast again in a few weeks...

I am looking for a lightweight tent (1 person)
the tent i use right now is a 2 person Quechua tent from decathlon, it is perfect in every means except weight (it is 2.4 kg)
the tent you review right looks very good to me except i am worried about it now having double walls, do you think it would be a problem in high mountains where light snow/frost is normal?

It's a fairly warm tent due to not much ventilation. I haven't tested it in any rough conditions. Difficult to say how it would hold up in a storm. It doesn't claim to be a 4 Season tent. So would be careful if you want it for mountain use.

Hi there, just checking out the budget end of tents. How has it performed since? You did a pretty good first show. All the best. Mark

I probably had about 1-2 weeks use before the video. Haven't been out in it since. Always full of condensation and not spacious enough. That being said I will probably use it for the odd overnighter but its a no on multi day trips for me.
Enjoyed your wye walk series! All the best. ✌

@@gonehiking9297 I see. I'm looking around for a mate really - Andy who was on the Wye with me is looking for a budget light weight tent. Yeah, it's not for a serious hike. hey, thanks for watching. Peace!

A mate of mine has the nature hike cloud up 2. Not fully convinced on that one either. He has had a soggy floor a few times. Not sure if its water permeating up or the sides which are oddly high letting rain in. 🤔

@@gonehiking9297 I reckon my mate Andy is going to have to spend some money of he wants it light and good. Half hour into your coast to coast. Good so far.

Yeah the old saying "buy cheap, buy twice" save up and get what you really want. Depends on budget desired weight etc. Maybe something like the DD super light pyramid or luxe hex peak.

Do you think if the guy ropes were used to tension everything that the condensation would of been better? Or possibly not transfer to the inner pod

Hi, sadly not. Putting the guys out doesn't change the dhape of the tent ot hold any of the vents open.

A bivvy bag over your sleeping bag or a black plastic bag over your feet, stop water on feet /bottom of legs, works well, summer leave door open.

What happened to that nice Camo Duplex you picked up in the US?

    • @gonehiking9297
      @gonehiking9297  4 роки тому +1

Still have it and it is my go to hiking tent now. I haven't really done reviews before so wanted to do my first one on a lesser known product. Also feel i need to put more miles on the duplex before attempt to review it.
