    Good review. I got one of these a few months ago, and have had a few nights out in it.
    I agree with all you said. It is very light and compact, and excellent quality for the money.
    I would add that at 5’8” I can sit up in the tent for dressing/getting ready for bed.
    I haven’t noticed significant issues with condensation, ventilation is good, and any moisture soon drys in the morning in the time it takes to heat and drink that first cup of coffee.
    I also like the footprint and plan to use it next summer with a tarp for some super-lightweight trekking and camping
    Keep up the good work!!!

      Thank you, I've done a few nights in the tent now and so far so good. The tent is good value for money and the extra space has made trips a lot more comfortable. Like you said no real issues with condensation and once you have had a brew and got ready for the day the tent has dried out.
      Some Super-lightweight camping sounds like fun and is something a definitely want to do next summer but for now I am looking forward to some snow up in the Peaks 😁
      Thank you for watching

    My targa 2 survived a severe storm that lasted a couple of days in the lake district , this storm brought down trees and power lines , the first night was up above the kirkstone pass and the seconed night was on a camp site in between kirkstone pass sumit and paterdale , from my targa 2 i witnessed at least five other tents being destroyed on the camp site , most of that time the wind was side on , the small cross pole was bobbing up and down like a gooden but seemed to take the force out of the wind on the tent , it survived with no damage at all , it's a brillient tent and i can reccomnd it .

      They are surprisingly tough little tents, I've been using it during the winter as it's the best tent I have and it's stood up to what ever I've thrown at it so far ☺️ I just make sure the big flap at the back is as close to the floor as possible to make sure no wind can get into the tent and has worked perfect. Glad you are enjoying yours as much as I am mine 😁

      @@powexor the targa 2 has held up well on loads of overnighters two night trips and multiple seven day trips to the lakes but it is not a winter tent and I choose my camp spots carefully and I treat the zips with care ,for the money it’s a great tent but it has limits and I try to minimise them by picking a good spot to pitch .

      @@mickd6942 Thanks for the quick answer! I'm considering this as a late spring to early autumn tent in Finland. In the North we get great winds and rain, but there's often possibility to get a safe pitch under the trees as well. Just wondering how it might hold up. I think that the British winds and rains are of like strength to that of Lapland's. Got a tight budget, which is why I'm leaning to this tent.

    Great video! As an alternative, the Six Moons Design Lunar Duo Outfitter which weighs nearly exactly the same is selling for $170 right now. It's a trekking pole tent, but that allows it to pack small! You can also get carbon or aluminum poles to take the place of the trekking poles. It'll be a bit bigger than the Tagar 2, and should offer more headroom. Not sure what the shipping costs would be, but I'd think the Pound to USD conversion would work in your favor. Alternatively, the SMD Skyscape Scout is also only $136, is super long with double vestibules/doors and a very high roof height and only weighs 2.5lb. Both tents are sil-POLY which performs better in the wet, packs smaller, doesn't stretch nearly as much. ;)

      Thank you 😀 The six moons tents looks awesome and looks like it would be amazing for summer with all the ventilation it has. I am definitely wanting to look into trekking pole tents in the future thanks for the heads up 😀

    I used this tent in Scotland last autumn, we had some proper gale force winds and heavy rain one night, and this tent took it like it was absolutely nothing. My friend's Lanshan 2, however, started collapsing in the wind. The Taga 2 is a little beast of a tent!

      @@michaelnicholson1817 Hi Michael, Thank you. I've used this tent all the way into the winter all the way down to -5C. With it being single skin it is easy to put up and keeps the wind off and as long as you have a good sleeping bag to keep you warm you should be good to go. Naturehike does have some double layer tents which can keep a bit more warmth if you prefer but I had no issues using this in the colder seasons ☺️

      @@michaelnicholson1817 the mongar 2 looks like a good tent and I did consider getting one but ended up with the tagar 2, a bit lighter but still gives a good amount of space inside and can still sit up. I got the dark blue one for wild camping as I only really set up as it's getting dark so blends in a bit but they do a dark forest green as well ☺️ also once you've put it up a few times it's really fast and easy to get up and pack away in the morning

    Nice tent and good review .
    Howard is the condensation issue .
    Obviously independent on a lot of environmental factors .but how easy is it to vent the tent in the morning and dry it before taking it down .as Obviously the floor will get wet (for the second night ) if you do .

    • @A1rdy
      @A1rdy  2 роки тому +1

      Thank you 😀 I've just done 2 nights in the tent on a 3 day hike and in the morning I would just open the door up and let the tent air out for half hour while I had a coffee. On the next night the inside was dry and no wet floor. I did take a small microfiber towel just in case I needed to wipe the inside dry but never needed to use it. After the 3 days I left the tent for 24 hours to fully dry out and not had any issues

    • @rufusduck71
      @rufusduck71 2 роки тому +1

      Cheers think I might get 1 .I feel the 2 man would suffer less than a 1 man version for condensation .
      I have a 1 man vango helium and that always condensates loads .so I don't think single skin is really that much of a difference .

    • @A1rdy
      @A1rdy  2 роки тому +1

      It's a good tent and I am happy with it so far. Yeah the 2 man tent does have some good ventilation which does help with the condensation. I started with a similar 1 man tent but having the extra space inside is such a luxury and being able to sit up is amazing 😆

    • @A1rdy
      @A1rdy  Рік тому

      Thank you :) The Tent feels sturdy and i used it last winter for some wild camping and it was great. When i use it in more windy conditions i use extra guy ropes on the top balance pole to give it a bit extra stability and use some better pegs i can get into the ground to make sure i am pegged down well. Also, i face the top towards the wind if i can so it’s not acting as a wind sail and the shape of it deflects the wind well, I also try to use natural cover as a wind block if possible. Naturehike do the cloud up 2 as well and looks like it’s aimed more towards that sort of weather and has removable snow skirts.
