Sorry man, but this hurts. It might work better if you had some extremely hit grit flap disks, but this is rough. Might work more for sharpening some tools that don't need to be that sharp though. Might also work as a start to profile the blade for later work, but I wouldn't use that as a finishing sharpening method.
Clearly not how to sharpen a knife! UA-cam should remove these videos as that is flat out dangerous! Ps: never eat anything this man has prepared, metal filings are one thing but those fingernails?!
Never let the item your saying works, leave your eyesight, which you did! It also did not look as sharp as a razor, it was very rough! You seriously can’t be employed in anything called successful doing shoddy work such as that!
That knife is now garbage... 😅 please fellow watchers, if you have a quality kitchen knife take it to get professionally sharpened with whetstone or do it yourself, once you learn how to sharpen on a whetstone you will question why you used any other methods in the past. You want a knife sharp enough to pad through the tomato without even holding it.
I am certain it is sharp probably mini serrated to probably go though most things super easy for like ten cuts then it would blunt pretty quickly and you’ve ruined your blade profile
If was sharp enough to make a video u wouldn’t need to use saw motion. But props for clever thinking.. hey, maybe if used for axes and blunt blades?? maybe try a finer grit for knives
Only if a knife is cerated or has teeth do you use a forward and backward motion. A straight edge only goes one way. If you feel it needs to go back and forth.. IT'S NOT SHARP !!
You can sharpen a knife with one flap disc on a grinder, no need for this contraption. Sharpening stone is the best thing to use. But a flap disc can work for very dull or damaged knives.
This is hilariously recommended right after someone used a grinder and cds to un-dull a knife. Bet those hands would get along perfectly if they werent constantly doing inappropriate things with their.... tools.
cool, you destroyed the knife, and it still doesnt cut btw, razor my a55, that tomato should be butter... btw one of those sanding disc is spinning in the wrong direction, theres a side to those ... honestly just one disc both side along the proper angle would already be 10x better.... props for the idea, at least you tried, thats just a bad one. _
That tomato is being cut by a bur not a sharp edge. The bur will come off fast and it will be dull again. This is a bad idea as it doesn't really sharpen the knife and it wrecks the edge geometry.
One side is polishing while the other side is sharpening. WHY? One wheel is running forward while the other is running backward. This is going to ruin your knife.

Horrible edge on that knife.
And anything can cut a FROZEN tomato.
Get some whetstone and sharpen your knife like that.
I just got a whetstone holder and up to grid 10.000 whetstones and now my knives are so sharp I can SHAVE myself with them.
Jesus Christ, that blade edge looks like the damn Rocky Mountains. That isn't a sharp knife. It's a sharp burr.
Literally the best way to troll knife owners😂.... Hope you're trolling and not just stupid.
Everybody's mad about the knife. But what they're really mad about is that they did not think about this themselves! 😅😅
You can sharpen a knife with one flap disc on a grinder, no need for this contraption. Sharpening stone is the best thing to use. But a flap disc can work for very dull or damaged knives.
Horrible way to sharpen! Also, you actually have to move the knife to slice, which you didn’t do the first time, on the before part of the video
Jesus bro, ain’t no way you called THAT “like a razor” ur literally having to saw through the tomato

Stayed tuned for next week's episode "How you clean dirty fingers". Don't miss it!
