Great tips! Having recently purchased a GoPro Hero 6 and two different gimbals, I returned the gimbals and now go with just a GoPro Shorty. It works great and greatly simplifies travel and shooting rather than the additional concern of having a gimbal. Thanks for the wonderful tips!
Hey great tips as always. Hero 6 looks dope!
can i edit gopro and also drone shots smoothly with imovie in macbook air..??
Hi Tom, what resolution do you use to effectively compensate with built-in stabilizer without sacrificing the quality of the video? I saw other youtube tutorials that suggest to use 2.7k@60fps res to give allowance with the auto-cropping(stabilization) and all that stuff but i did find it not so good, a bit edgy not so smooth compared when i use 1080p@60fps? Maybe you can give a little advice, I would really appreciate.
I would love to get my hands on one of these new GoPros and give it a go. Seems like a fantastic update with the new model. Great to see you back, TAN!
This is by far one of the best gopro tips video ı ever watched. Thanks man!

he man - great video! What is the GoPro small black hand grip extendable tripod brand you show in this video? It seems very compact and I can't find it in your gear. thanks
Norman Faria, it's a gopro shorty
I am so glad I found your channel! I have had GoPro for 7 years and not until now I realized that I could film hiking/nature videos with it (because I am an amateur filmer and my footage look liked grap).
These are all super helpful tips. Thank you for the knowledge!
Great vid!! What's the name of the song during the intro? Thanks
Hey Thomas, great video! Thanks
I want to ask you this, with what program on you pc/laptop do you add music and play with the collor ect. Of the footage? (Fine tuning your video's) ?? Looking forward to your answer. Thx. Kind regards

Hey Thomas, how did you record audio for this video? Lav mic? Sounds super clear!
Cool video Thomas, thanks!!!!
Can I ask what settings u use on the GoPro6 when filming and the settings when making a slo-mo, im new to the GoPro and trying to find the best settings for beautiful shots
Really Awesome tips. I have looked at a few other videos talking about GoPro 5 and 6 and I was still kind of confused about which I should be getting. Now I think it's pretty clear. Thanks
Excellent advice on complex & nuanced techniques & methodologies. Far more cerebral than the typical “Countdown Tips” UA-cam tutorials, & far more enlightening & valuable as a result. The most valuable aspect in my humble opinion is that these techniques are actually camera body/sensor/format agnostic, & really apply to any foray into cinematic artistry. Many thanks brother.
Absolutely LOVE this! Have just filmed my first EVER UA-cam video (soon to edit!) and planning to make some fun travel videos on my next adventure, these tips are so helpful thank you! One question though - what do you mean about finding the cinematic feel edit tools online - where can I find those to get the right post-prod look? Thanks again!
Thanks man, i'm gonna buy a Hero 6 and these tips were really helpful!
Hey Thomas, thanks for the tips, they're really helpful. As a rookie, I want to ask you.. If I want to shoot slow motion footage, should I shoot slo-mo in high fps, or shoot 24fps and later edit it into slow motion? Thanks!
Great Tips! Thanks man
Hey! How framerate you make in post for a cinematic video? 24, 25 or 30 fps?
thank you for these useful tips
You just made me buy a GoPro Hero 6. Thanks a lot for you helpful tipps. Great work!

What aspect ratio would be best to record video on a go pro ? Which one do you use
Awesome tips brother, cheers!
I cant so hard!!! How do you ad what you record on your computer or phone?
Hi Thomas, I want to create my own travel videos for me,but I’m yet to decide on gear. For the start I want to be something that I can carry with me easily so I thought, a good smartphone with gimbal stabilizer or GoPro (also maybe with stabilizer). What do you think? Which one is more versatile for the most occasions?
Looks so good with that format and style
Hey, I just purchased the Hero 6 with a feiyutech G5 gimbal. although I haven't started yet, I am hoping to start some travel vlogs/ travel tips/cheap traveling videos. I am wondering if you would suggest shooting in a flat or wide view while in a selfie? When would be a good the best time to shoot flat, or not flat? and how would I find problems transitioning from a wide view shot to a flat shot in post-production? I have watched a lot of your tip vidoes, thanks so much!!
Thank you for sharing your time and talent. This is a big help for aspiring travel bloggers like me 👌🤙
Please write, what monopod-tripod was in this video? Thank you
Very good. This guy knows what he’s talking about. Well done
Really great teacher, explains things very well
Do I need editing software to make my video better? When I upload directly from gopro app to phone, its not good quality.
I just bought the gopro6 yesterday!
Can you put a download link for LUTs used on a boat footage? Thank you 👍🏻
Thank you! Some excellent advice and great orientation to my new Hero 6.
Great advice. I’m gunna drop my mirrorless Sony and opt to a H6 for the smaller package, water resistance and eis. I’m excited for smooth shots
Thank you so much for those tips have a great day
What editing software would you suggest for the hero 6? I have a PC and iMac, TIA!
Thanks! Just got my gopro, so very helpful
Great tips!! thank you so much for this video and it, now I'm sure I will get the gopro heroe6
Really helpful
awesome vid thanks!
Nice selection of tunes !
Wondering what is the maximum amps you can use to charge a gopro/ dual gopro charger? I've been currently using my iPhone block which i think is only 1 amp. I takes forever to charge. 2/3 hrs. Is there a faster way to charge these batteries without hurting them? Thanks.
I was wondering where you had got to. Must be crazy in BC right now. Good to see another video go live.
Ah, you're back. Nice to see you and what a great video. Your title was always a question of mine. Oh, just got my first time passport at 46 :) . Time to travel a bit seeing as the kids have grown up now.
you must be American... the most insular and isolated country in the world.
What do you think of the dji pocket cameras please? Great videos! To the point and natural teaching ability x
Stabilization on this bike scene looked really good. Is there a big difference noticeable when also using a gimbal? is it worth it?
Thanks for the video, when you take your footage from your GoPro do you convert your files to cineform to edit? I have been doing this, it allows my computer to edit more easily but also creates much larger files, also you get a better dynamic range once the file is converted.
You can't get better dynamic range than what is already captured.
5 years old but still good information 👍Thanks for sharing your knowledge
Great tips. Thanks
Thank you. I am starting to shoot with this. Hope I can implement everything you say....
Hey please can you explain how to render a gopro video (renderinf settings) to keep maximum quality . Thank you
I use sony vegas pro
Same!
Starts at 3:30
come on. first cinematic example is still worth to watch :P
thanks :)
Actually, it starts at 0:17
You’re a blessing
awesome tips! Thank you! I normally just use my gopro in the water or adventures.
Hi, great video! btw, what selfie stick is that?:) It looks so simple to use..
What would be the right settings to do slow mo?
Great tutorial!
Great tips! Say, what is the handle/stick used in this vid??
I really like how informative you are.
Thanks! Is the stabilization the same in hero5?
K S Well, it’s ok on FOV Normal; on 1080p and 60 FPS
could there be a software update for the Hero 5 that gives it the zooming ability for linear footage like the Hero 6?
i want to have the same pole that you have for your go pro 6. where did you buy that?
very useful tips!!!
Hi Thomas, I just got a hero 5 session and I'm going to make a travel video with it to Costa Rica. If I want to have things in slow motion do I have to change the setting before or do I do it after in the edit? The session only has one button so it may work differently than this camera you're shooting with. Please let me know !! Thanks
yes man superdope! inspired!
Nick Pescetto nice man! You're killing it with the USA content 🔥
Hey great Video. Iam experimenting with some LUT´s for my FPV Channel just raised. Cant find the good tone you know.It would be interresting to know what LUT´s you used is that video for the colored Shots. In example at 0:30 sec. Thx in advance and keep up !
Amazing thank you
