Prince was hell of a hard worker too. Everybody said he was a perfectionist and he was. He just said that because we all know perfection doesn’t exist, even MJ said in this video than even if he was n°1 charts, he was still not satisfied. You need both, authenticity and perfection to be among the best but I agree, perfection without authenticity is souless but the opposite is why you will never have the succes of these two legends if you only count on being authentic.
You shouldn’t really do it better than others cause then that would turn every thing you do in life into a competition. You should do everything you’re passionate about with you all your might. Cause there won’t be any of that to do when you die. (Ecclesiastes 9:10)
@Walking.w.Christ You're right amen, that's why I work on progression instead of perfection because progression can eventually lead to perfection and so I guess that was Micheal's way of motivation which I appreciate alot
Michael is a unique creative pioneer, unbreakable timeless inspiration and more importantly a selfless relentless humanitarian charitable champion. Thank you David Hartley
the moonwalk was actually created by dancers from the 1930's and michael learned it from a soul train dancer called jeffrey daniels. jeffrey is also the one that helped with the bad and smooth criminal choreographies
It seems that more than 5 ppl are taking credit for teaching him the backslide- Michael named the move afterwards the moonwalk- or to inspire him. MJ does this differently though, moving also his upper body and arms, thus giving to the initial move walking/gliding backwards the impression of really walking ...back. Jeffrey Daniels was with some ideas for Bad ( there is a footage with MJ and JD and a third guy working together for the dance steps on yt, they were feeding each other ideas) and Smooth criminal, the main choreography was done by MJ and Vincent Patterson. MJ was with this old Hollywood theme of gangsters and such stuff, listen Al Capone, the first variant of Smooth criminal and Chicago 45.The backslide was old step, it was transmitted from one to another. The first creature to do it was a tiny bird in Central America. MJ incorporated this basic move and transformed it into thr choreography for Bille Jean for underlying the idea of retreat, of stepping back, from a street dance move he transformed it into art.
Charlie Chaplin did invent his versions of moon walk, with wide variations of legs, he was funny MJ said.& it inspired him to create, moon walk we all know and love today ❤
@@duncanidaho8900 Michael learnt from Jeffrey since he was in the Jackson 5. That's how he learnt the robot for dancing machine. The Jackson 5 said it in an interview in the 70s

What's the secret to insane work ethic? Love for your craft and the deep enjoyment you get from it. If you don't enjoy something you won't do it for long.
The moowalk was taken from one of the soul train dancers and mj made he's own in he's unique way n enhanced it the guy was called Jeffrey I can't remember he's second name but he taught mj the moonwalk
Moonwalk wasn't from Charlie Chaplin. He himself in the private home videos said that he learnt that from African kids n it was another band's member from whom he learnt. It was also first done by an African performer whose name I don't remember.
As a personal attribute, being a perfectionist is a curse, not a blessing, as any mental health specialist or psychologist will tell you, and there is no doubt that Michael Jackson, despite his success and riches, was less happy than the average person.
I don’t think that’s what Michael Jackson meant. He wasn’t speaking about a narcissist seeking to build an amazing and perfect self-image and to serve his own created image. Michael was talking about putting your soul, heart, passion, and love into what you do. By doing so, you connect deeply with your inner self and are guided by a divine spirit. Whatever you do, if done with love, brings you closer to God. Michael understood that his talent was a gift from God-to create brilliant songs and dance that brought happiness to others. His goals were not wealth or fame, instead, he wanted to follow his spiritual path. He helped the sick and poor, united people of different countries, cultures, and ages, and raised awareness of injustice, poverty, crime, and violence through his music. In that way, he followed what he believed God intended him to do. I don’t agree with the idea that Michael was unhappy. He was frustrated and saddened by the media’s unfair treatment and had to deal with false allegations, greed, and jealousy.
@ You evidently idolize Michael Jackson, which makes it impossible for you to talk about him objectively, even though you may not realize it. First of all, I don’t know where you fetch the idea of narcissism from. Being a perfectionist in psychological terms has nothing to do with being narcissistic. Various mental disorders not having to do with a narcissistic personality disorder involve perfectionism. Perhaps because you idolize Michael Jackson and don’t realize that he was just like you and me, you deny that he was unhappy in his life except for his unhappiness with media treatment. Evidence that Michael Jackson was emotionally unbalanced is all over - from his own admission of physical and emotional abuse as a child at the hands of his father to the fact that he missed a normal childhood due to his and his siblings’ music career, which led to compensatory childlike behaviours as an adult, to his image complex (vitiligo does not account for all his plastic and cosmetic surgeries, much less to his chosen physical appearance for his children, who don’t even have a biracial appearance) to the well-documented dysfunctional family in which he grew up. Of course, he was treated unfairly by the media and others and unjustly accused of child abuse, which had an adverse impact on his career and didn’t help matters as far as his personal happiness was concerned.
“Once in a generation” is always far from the truth, most people either dont want to be famous or dont want to use their talents professionally and some barely use them to begin with
I definitely agree with you. Something was seriously wrong with michael. He needed help. His Family tried. He resisted many times, from what I learned. Help was needed. He wasn't michael towards his end of life.😌
Imagine how terribly he was pursued by the media, and how many people used and betrayed Michael. All those false allegations and constant betrayals-he was shamed, disregarded, humiliated, and disgraced. I would definitely have struggled too. Honestly, I think it took a long time to break his spirit.
moonwalk wasn't inspired by Chaplin, Michael didn't create it, it was a dance becoming popular in the 70's by black dancers and taught to Michael by Jeffery Daniels.
Michael’s self-discipline was shaped by his father, but the true energy-his powerful, emotional, and charismatic presence in music and dance-came from deep within his heart and soul!
Well, it’s easy when you’re doing something like singing, dancing, painting, artistic stuff but I’ve never heard no video talk about a physical worker construction worker plumber somebody that uses his hands and sweat and blood I would be so dedicated to my work if it was just singing dancing dressing up nice and getting paid millions for it. Of course my work ethic will be extraordinary.
Yea, professional singing and dancing is actually grueling. Alot of intense vocal and dance rehearsals, and for a dancer of Michael's caliber, it's a form of athleticism. Pair that with pressures of performing at that level back to back for 2 hour show people yelling at you 24/7, plumber ain't doing that
