i was play and using over 20 year for epiphone, it brought from europe back to here,after i saw the greeny les paul standard model was here i had trade in for gibson greeny standard, i've using for over 6 month ago, so amazing guitar🙏🏻😍💪

I ended up playing one of these in store and my god the pickups are so sick. I have a Lemon Burst 50s epiphone and I am going to upgrade the pickups to these Greeny ones. They're so good
The comparison between the two is really entry level vs custom.. A better comparison would be the Epiphone Greeny vs the Vintage V100 Lemon Drop greeny.
$1500 is not an entry level Epiphone. There is another review video where the fella compares the Gibson, an older Epiphone and a less than $300 Chibson. He seemed to have the most complaints on the Gibson!
great content im amazed at when on my Epi Greeny i turn the vol up to 9 or 10 the phase knocks the walls down such a masterful tone , i even put geenybuckers in my Epi Lazarus and wow i felt bad for my burstbuckers lol
Yeah, obviously both have quality tones. Professional players will go with Gibson and Bedroom Rock stars go with Epiphone, win win situation and btw, Carnauba wax will polish up the Epiphone very nicely. Great video and great playing Man. Thanks for sharing.
No matter what paste wax you use, it will take 20 plus applications to fill in the pours from the spray that Epiphone put on the finish. After the pours fill in then the guitar will shine up like a Gibson.
Many times it's not the pickup height, but the actual position where the pickups are mounted. If you measure them carefully you'll see that Gibson pickups are spaced further apart. The bridge is closer to that pickup, and the ring of the neck pickup is thinner which allows it to be mounted further up the scale.
I ended up buying the Epiphone Slash goldtop at my local store.$799.two piece body, no veneer. It is the best les paul I ever played. Might put the Slash SD's in it but it wails as is.
What you said about the long neck tenon only being found on Custom Shop is not true at all. It's not even new to Epiphone. The original Epiphone Slash AFD from more than a decade ago even had it.
that's interesting ,I just bought a 2023 Epi Slash AFD w/case from Sweetwater just 3 months ago, no long neck tenon, I also have 4 Epi '59's, I hot rod all my guitars so I take pickups out all the time. I sold the Slash AFD and put a deposit on a Greeny, I will pay the rest tomorrow and it will ship.
That's what made me decide against picking up one of the new '59s. They may have the right shape and electronics, but the colors still look inauthentic.

Differeneces are very, very, very small. Next time, compare the vid sound-by-sound wise. Using a split pedal to swap guitars swiftly, without the cumbersome and hindring cable switches. In any true band, podium, live or jam setting nobody wille be able to tell the difference.

My thought is a simple swap to orange drop caps on the Epi may pull it more in line with this Gibson, if you like the Gibson tone. Cheap & easy to do.
That Epiphone neck pickup sounds heavenly (ok, they both do). My Epiphone Greeny is in the mail.

seems like gibson's pickups are higher and closer to the strings, more volume and compression for me

The Gibson looks a lot better and has a better out of phase sound but sound wise I was very surprised with how close the epi was. Awesome playing btw!

I don’t like the finish on the epiphone. It’s too plastic looking

It buffs well but you’d have to strip and re shoot to get the depth of color and fade that you find on the Gibson

Proof that wood matters... okoume is darker and mid heavy unplugged and plugged.
