I started doing this sequence about a month ago - since then, three separate injuries/pains (tight hamstring, painful ITB and piriformis) have improved dramatically and I was able to run a 60 mile ultramarathon at the weekend virtually pain-free. I highly recommend this to any runners. Thank you so much for posting!
I've been watching and practicing with this video for almost 2 years after my runs and it neeever gets old or boring! I love your voice the most, so soothing! This sequence of poses and the timely manner is perfect for busy days with a workout squeezed in! Thank you!! Namasté!
Brilliant! Thank you for the workout - I’ve tried and tried to get a decent runners workout over the years, but failed miserably. What I like about this video is the constant speed - you get through it. Hardest the first few times, but then quickly flows as a genuine session. Thanks!
Agreeee 🖤🖤🤍💗💖🌈 Much appreciation from Mottola south of Italy 🌹🌹🌹🌹 please dearest friend take a little look at my dance funny joyful luxurious videos 💗♥️💚💙
Brilliant! Thanks a lot for this. I've been running for about 18 months and recently spent 4 months preparing for my 1st marathon. Never tried yoga before and a couple of runners recommended it. I had some bad muscle pain in my hips and two sessions with this video before the marathon - and it's gone away. Never had it since. Now try to do this 3 times a week.
I injured myself this year running. My achillies tendinitis got pretty bad and I started seeing a PT specialist. He suggested yoga as a way to free up my general overall tightness, especially in my hips and legs. This has been a great program. I have never done yoga before, but I feel looser and more relaxed after performing this sequence. Thank you very much for your instructive videos.
I've started training for a half marathon and knew yoga would be the best course for improving my performance. This sequence was amazing and helped me to clear my mind, stretch and relax. Thank you for posting this :] Namaste.
I am not a runner, but I have been doing this routine off-and-on for a couple of years (and consistently for the past 6 months), due to chronic tightness in my hamstrings, calves, and feet. Completing this sequence a few times per week has been life-changing. I've learned to notice when my body needs these stretches, and I look forward to following the video time and time again. I've started to branch out into some of the other videos as well, but this one is a favorite! Thank you, Esther!
Hi Esther, I love all your videos. I saved them to my favorites and play them whenever I am practicing. I too am a yoga instructor but I am in the corporate world. Thank you for your teaching and for your unique style. Namaste, Lourdes
I've placed this as my post run stretch routine and for me it does the trick. Although I have long legs and really can't get into half of the poses, it doesn't matter too much. Plenty of downward dog time to hit those calves too. Finally, I like the lack of music and Ekhart's minimal direct style. Thanks!
After numerous painful injuries I decided to actually invest time into prevention, stretching and rolling this year. This video is amazing!! I've attended multiple yoga classes but none have ever had some of these poses for the hips, IT, and hamstring.
I had knee pain and ankle pain before this yoga practice, and yes you can tell all the tense and pain was gone after these 25 minutes. Love it to bits.
That was really great! I didn't even know where my IT band was but have always feared the dreaded runners IT injury! Now I know where it is and how to stretch it:) Thanks so much, I'm going to share with all my runner friends!
Thank you.. am practicing for Half marathon and have added this too my training. Doing it for 3 times a week.. nd the difference is amazing. Thank you. . Namaste
Thank you for this Esther! I had done a short run earlier and, combined with this sequence, my back felt so much better than it had felt in a long time!
Thanks for making this class available online. I have done it twice this week to loosen up after lots of running. Feeling much more mobile now. Thank you!
Thank you for sharing this training. I previously had muscle and IT band issues when running and began using this video 1-2 times a week. Now I have zero issues or tightness in both IT and hamstrings. Many thanks.
Wow. I wish I had known about this when I started running. Amazing yoga. I do this two times a week and a similar warm up routine on your channel. Amazing the benefits. Makes my run injury free and truly enjoyable.
Thank you so much for that IT band stretch! Mine are always so tight after I run and I have never found a stretch that is easy to do and works so well. Much appreciated!
Absolutely amazing! Although I only run from 30 to 40 minutes 3 to 4 times a week, I could feel the benefit to parts of my body I didn't realize I was not stretching. Thank you so much for this class!
I’ve started this routine during my marathon training 3 years ago and now, after the marathon and two pregnancies, I’m still doing it as a preparation for coming back to running. I love your soft voice, your pace though the video and how the exercise makes me feel afterwards. Thank you so much for this video!
I've been balancing my running with yoga forms and stretches for years. Funny, but this video seems to cover everything I do and that I've felt effective for me personally. Couldn't help but laugh as I watched you do them, Ester. Good to feel validated! Thanks for posting these!
Thank you so much for posting this! I'm doing a 5k training program, and I'd been trying to do other yoga sequences on my cross-training days, but I couldn't stay loyal to those sequences because my legs were so desperate for a stretch! The stretches I was doing between poses were just like the ones in this video! This is exactly what my body wanted, and I feel SO much better!
i love this video, it's my favourite yoga sequence. i don't run much anymore due to injury but this can be done regardless of running or not! Thank you Esther.
Can't thank you enough for these wonderful tutorials Esther!! I am a runner & I have benefited immensly through your videos. Keep them coming..Great job :)
Thanks Daniel - if you're looking for more IT band exercises Julie Martin just posted a new class on EkhartYoga.com - www.ekhartyoga.com/classes/4028/release-the-it-band - you can try all the classes out for free for 2 weeks...well, maybe not ALL of them as there are nearly 4000 now ;)
*Yoga for runners* Practice this yoga class 1-3 times a week to balance the repetitive action of running on the body. I really enjoyed this! I'm new to yoga, so this was a perfect intro. I loved Ester's voice, very soothing! I also didn't feel bad when I couldn't get deeply into a stretch! Will definitely do again and am already recommending to friends!!
I am a high-quantitative runner, no ultras but 100k per Week, average pace 5:00 min/km. I try to balance running with half-advanced yoga, but it is pretty tough at the moment. A challange currently is to determine how much loaded the thighs under various trainig-circumstances are. I can say for now, never do yoga (half-advanced with the supta-Vajdrasana as top practice) before running, even if I take 8h betweencan still hurt a lot. The other way round, running before yoga is better, but also there I leave at least 2h rest time before the excercises. One time it did a tough yoga workout right after running, and gosh, my thighs were like joists afterwards. I have not found the right level for now, so I can do both sports in the manner I want to, except from the two general rules I mentioned above. I searched half the web, but found no like-minded people, so if anyone reads this and have some tips how to combine both in the best way, let us exchange. (I hope it is alright for you, esther, I dont want to hijack your chanel, just think it could be a interface to connect each other with best regards)

Elizabeth Halley Awesome!! Ultras are the best!!
did you do this before or after your run? Or on the days off.
What a great yoga sequence for runners. That IT band stretch is amazing. I've never been able to find another stretch that targets my IT band so well.
I completely agree!
Right!!! I’ve had IT band syndrome or whatever it’s called recently and that stretch was SENDING me ☺️😊
Excellent on a daily! I’m a long distance runner and this has been a wonderful flow to keep injuries away:) thank you Esther

Great ❤️🍊🍊🍊 please dearest friend take a little look at my dance funny joyful luxurious videos with sparrows 🥰🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈
I've been doing the poses in this video for a few months now before going on my runs and it's really helped ward off knee pain. thanks!
Thank you very much!!!! I did this yoga today after I ran 6 miles,.. I really loved this!, 🙏🙏
brilliant - thank you
First yoga practice I've completed. Short enough for my attention span and long enough that I feel great now!
Brilliant! Thank you for the workout - I’ve tried and tried to get a decent runners workout over the years, but failed miserably. What I like about this video is the constant speed - you get through it. Hardest the first few times, but then quickly flows as a genuine session. Thanks!
Best yoga teacher on UA-cam ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Thank you, Esther!
I wasn't expecting this to be as good as it was. Thank you so much!
Thank you! I really appreciate the in depth explanations for setting up and maintaining each pose as it’s meant to be done. Bravo!
Thanks Rachel!

I love this moment after doing yoga, when your whole body is so stretched and in Savasana you can feel all part of your body. Marvelous
Thank you elegant Dutch lady, it works well for me.
Always my go to yoga for runners. Just perfect.

Did this sequence before my run today & easily pushed myself to meet my weekly goals. Thanks so much for sharing this great video with us! :-D

Love her style of teaching. Fantastic. I would like to see a 60-minute runners yoga!

I’ve been doing this session for over 5 years. I still find it one of the best stretches for the legs.
Great thanks Brian!
Very nice stretches. Especially the IT band. Love you and your accent, Esther!
Best stretch the morning after a run. Thanks Esther
Thanks Kevin

Very enjoyable! So kind of you to offer these for free! :)
This is a short and easy to do sequence. It is perfect for those who may not have time to do a whole hour or 90 minute yoga class. Thank you!

That's quite the compliment! Thank you so much Taweeratana. :)
Thanks for making this class available online. I have done it twice this week to loosen up after lots of running. Feeling much more mobile now. Thank you!
You're so welcome!
I've tried SO many routines for runners and this is definitely my favorite. It really stretches the problem areas without being impossible.
Thank you for sharing this training. I previously had muscle and IT band issues when running and began using this video 1-2 times a week. Now I have zero issues or tightness in both IT and hamstrings. Many thanks.

Great to hear Arun! Thank you for your comment! :)
Thank you so much for that IT band stretch! Mine are always so tight after I run and I have never found a stretch that is easy to do and works so well. Much appreciated!
I just discovered i could touch my toes!! i thank yoga for helping me get there :)

i love this video, it's my favourite yoga sequence. i don't run much anymore due to injury but this can be done regardless of running or not! Thank you Esther.
This entire session is excellent. I especially like and needed the stretch for the ITB and the stretches for opening the hips. Well done Yogi Ekhart.
That IT band stretch is 😩😩🗡.... But in the best most needed way. Thank you 🙏🏻
Esther, you are a great teacher! I've been using this video after my long runs and my body is getting stronger each time. Thank you!
