Hi Ted, another great video but as someone who has lived in the Highlands of Scotland all of his life and worked in forestry and nature conservation for the last decade I can't help but mention a few things. Unfortunately there is nothing close to wilderness left anywhere in the UK. Everything you see has been significantly altered by us. We have lost 99% of our natural forests and what is left is not in good health. The majority of the open areas you walked through on this route should be full of pine forest and montane woodland but we have lost it all. We have a huge problem with too many deer and sheep which prevents the forest from returning. Officially the UK has some of the lowest biodiversity left in the entire world and most of Scotland is an ecological desert. Again I don't mean to be negative but from someone who is passionate about nature restoration I feel the need to raise awareness. All the best.
You educated me. Had no idea things had gotten that out of hand!
I could tell, some of the places still have the originality and from what I understood the nature conservation up there is working with taking down some of the trees and replanting the trees that grew there from the beginning, is that right?
@@TedWeirum Yes that's right. Most of the forest we do have left is non native tree species planted for timber. So we are removing these where it's sensible and trying to replace it with more natural / native species 👍
At least the awareness is there so let’s hope for the better
Great video been waiting on this.👍
Thanks brother!

thanks brother! sakta men säkert, händer en del bakom kulisserna men jag ska ingenstans! tack för att du finns här! 🙏🏼
Looking apprehensive " Alright everyone, this is haggis, for those of you who don't know it's intestines and stuff, hmm it's good."😋
It tasted better than expected to say the least! :)
Awesome! And helpful for research! You are ready for the USA Classic with the elevation, lol!
hope so! we'll see what the future have in store!
Ted, I enjoyed watching it. I’m tempted by the classics on offer for 2023! You’ve got to go for one of their polar classics this year!!
DO IT! it will be so much fun! Polar would be an amazing adventure, all in due time! :)
Awesome you're "back", with yet another awesome video!
Thanks brother! been working behind the scenes, update to come!
@@TedWeirum as always, can’t wait, but do take your time!
Just have to settle a few things before we get into it, in the meantime there’ll be some reviews and what not! :)
I think this might be your most beautiful footage so far!
Thanks Robert! I think the one where I’m cursing out the mosquitoes in last years long adventure is a hall of famer! ;)
Awesome impressions, as usual. Thanks for the beautiful shots. Btw, the beard fits you well!
thanks brother! I regret to inform you that I have since shaved.. not completely but the caveman look is no more. ;)
@@TedWeirum noooooooooooooooooooo... 😂
I still can't believe Fjallraven haven't employed you as lead product ambassador! thanks ted
Thanks brother! that's really warming to hear, I think that whatever will be will be, I just keep on doing the things I love!
5 mins into the video and you captured Scotland’s weather perfectly. You looked dressed for the Fjallraven polar 😂. Glad you tasted some of our local delicacies to get the whole experience. Abisko lite 2 looking good. Glad I took your advice and bought one 😁 Great video 🏴⛰️🥃
hahaha, thanks brother! I did try the Scottish ceilidh, unfortunately the camera broke just at that moment… :P
The first night was windy indeed! Had the pleasure of shaking your hand on the trail in Scotland. Keep up the amazing work 🎉
Jealous!
The pleasure was all mine brother! really nice to meet you! glad you stopped to say hi! sorry it took a while to get the glove off! :)
@@TedWeirum sus 👀
I miss you! 🥺
I'm so glad the tights were featured. Skål brother!
I miss you too, I wrote to you on the instagrams but I don’t think you’ve seen it!
@@TedWeirum one of these days I'll find my way back on
You’re not missing anything there, you can always email me brother, I’d like to know how you’re doing!
What a trip. I myself really wanted to hike fjallraven classic in Sweden but was to overwhelming trying to plan the trip so pulled out.
Keep going brother, would love to see you there!
I would like to go there some time. 🙂
Totally think you should! Wonderful place
I always watch your vlogs, my dream is to follow the fjallraven classic someday
From Indonesia🇲🇨🇲🇨🇲🇨
Thanks brother! hope to see you there someday!
Haggis...not sure if I would try it? Maybe it actually tastes good? Looks like a great time. Tons of rain and changing conditions to keep you on your toes. The scenery was fantastic. Peace
I'm sure you would try it! :) thanks brother!
Nothing wrong with Haggis. It’s meat and barley and spices in a sausage skin. The intestines used to be used to make the sausage skin but these days its exactly the same as a sausage skin.
Is that so?! I didn’t know, I think we got the more modern version then, not sure!
That seems very exciting 🤩 How do you stay updated on the next Fjällräven Classic hikes? (and you captured Athena Mellor on the finish line 👍)
Best is to check out the website, I know, I spoke to them throughout the hike! Lovely people!
love it man, wish Canada had something of the sorts hahah at least Fjallraven related
I've heard rumors that Canada will be added on the next year or 2?
That would be awesome, we'll see!
Don't think the 3am helicopter on night one helped anyone get a great nights sleep, great footage of the event, appreciate your efforts capturing it all. We'll maybe see you on another Fjallraven Classic in a different part of the world!
Thanks brother, hope to see you too! I honestly couldn't hear the helicopter, it was so windy where I slept, it might have landed on my tent come to think of it….
Yay you managed to try Haggis 🙂 Glad you liked it. Do you manage to try anything else from Scotland?
Great video, glad you managed to get here to see our landscapes.
Stay safe.
ahaha, i had to rigt! I did try some whiskey as you saw and then ceilidh, unfortunately the camera ran out of battery at that very moment.. ;)
@@TedWeirum I will try and be on the next one mate. Happy trails.
Love to see you there buddy!
Great video Ted, just wondering what tripod or pole did you use with your main camera?
Sorry bro, I don’t know the name of that thing but check with @arber he should know!
Thanks Ted, but when I search @arber I just get garden fertilizer?
@mrfairycake4333 close, but not really! @arber is the guy I film with, he goes by that name here on UA-cam and instagram
In the Highlands the waters are Lochs not lakes .and Glens not valleys but nice job anyway .
My apologies, they have different names in Sweden as well!
Hi there, just wondering where I can find a copy of the route please
Not sure, they’ve changed the route a bit. Best advice is to have a look at Fjällrävens website
I mean the Scottish route from 2022
Great video but I'm trying to view a hard copy of the route so I can follow it myself this summer please
I’m afraid I don’t have that route, check in the online forums, maybe someone there got it?
