Hiya Guys, there was some good stuff there, i've missed going to any shows this year with other family stuff taking priority, but at least i get to watch them on the channel with you two thanks.
Hi Rick and Pauline, great to meet you at Barnsley and thank you for mentioning our new swapmeet events that start off on 1st February 2025 in South Normanton. Hopefully you'll be able to pop and pay us a visit.
Hi, RIck and Pauline, great show... lots of good stuff and you found Mount Tabor again. He has a great collection of stuff, including continental. I actually have that red 3-piece railcar set from BRAWA which he showed you, but in 3-rail/AC digital with the 4th car. I will add ,that they tend to run in 4-car sets, not 5 as he mentioned, although 5 does occur. His Lilliput crane was very cool, but one can get a fully-digital Viessman for £100 less which is also excellent. A lot of great stuff and things I would like to add to my small, but growing, OO collection.
Hi Anthony, thanks for your comment. It's always a treat to catch up with Mount Tabor and Ian, whilst I haven't a clue what most of the stuff is it's fascinating to see what he has. Thanks again Rick
I HAD TO SUBSCRIBE AGAIN DONT KNOW WHY THINK ITS TIME I GOT A NEW COMPUTER, MEANS I WONT BE ABLE TO GET SOME MORE CHOO CHOO TRAINS LOL, ANYWAY AGAIN A GREAT VIDEO IT,S MADE MY SUNDAY GREAT THANKS RICK AND PAULINE
Hello Pauline and Rick, I really enjoyed this video, I think it better when you have one video with layouts and one with traders. I do enjoy the Mount Tabor models stand, because I model three rail Ho AC, I don’t see a lot of items for my layout and you cannot knock the guy for his enthusiasm. Also Rick I did you have start displaying signs of Pauline’s blue railway disease😂. Keep it up it make my week seeing your videos on a Sunday morning. Harry
Hi Harry, we did put traders in the exhibition video, this video is the ones we couldn't fit in and a couple we did but edited down. Ian at Mount Tabor is always great to chat too and Pauline and I are always fascinated by what he has on display. As regards blue just wait for next weekend's video. All the best Rick
@@wellchuffedrailwayshi Rick, I wonder if you should consider doing a video on all the strength and weakness of the various manufacturers and models. Like if you want your wagons to derail at points buy Dapol😂. Also info where one company has taken over the moulding from another. Hornby with Lima etc. I know I did not explain it very well but I think it would be a good idea.
For the TWINDEXX train you have 3 variations: locomotive pulled (with one control car), one power car with one control car, and one with a power car on each end. For the regular MTO watchers, the IC2 is the locomotive pulled version and the red one is the one power car configuration. The DCC crane by Trix is the shorter version of the Krupp Ardelt crane with a maximum capacity of 45 ton. A larger one also existed with a separate wagon for the counter weight blocks. For the detail on European trains, well you are looking at Brawa there which is about the maximum you can can get details wise. The black things on the ends of many older European cars are the clamps for the end of train lanterns. Lima started to move into the separate parts thing a few years before the Hornby takeover, often keeping the same drive train. That was the reason for the saying 'Aussen prima, innen Lima' (which in this context meant outside up to date, inside obsolete) 25:00 says 'we love unusual models' and misses the Shay locomotive in the background
And you can upgrade the motors too, to make them run smoother. But I agree with you Rick, the class 47 was a very good model as well. I also like the Lima green 37 with split box code. But my favourite Diesel is the class 56.
Nice bargains, specially the continental crane, £800+😱, but it got a smoke generator and spot lights, that makes up for it🤣 For that money you expect to through a few rails and that crane on the table and by next morning your layout is ready😂 If you compare that to the new full retail prises for new OO stuff at the moment, I think we're well off with OO, and perhaps it's our own fold in demanding more and more details, it simply comes with a price. But even if you only have a small budget, you can buy really nice secondhand stuff and with some imagination build a lovely layout. Even with that £800 crane, it is only as good as the layout it stands in...
You've taught me something, Rick: I never knew the reason for the red stripe (or lack of) on loco bearings until now. Every day's a school day, and I wish I had easier access to the shows you go to, as the prices are very good!
The other reason I want to model this railway is that, when I stay at the apartment in Brighton Marina, I use this railway every day to get to town and back to Black Rock.
Hi mate, can you recommended any good fairs like this in the near future? I went to Sandown recently but it was mostly toys, with probably less than 8 model railway sellers
Have a look on the UK model shop directory website. They have an events page which list exhibitions and toy fairs. We also have a Well Chuffed Facebook page with events on. All the best Rick
Mainly diesels on the stalls, we love steam and diesel and have a 50/50 mix in our collection. There should be more steam for sale at Bolton Toy Fair this weekend. Cheers Rick

Hi Digger, well we are happy for you to tag along with us even if it is via UA-cam!
Lots of interesting items. I have the Lima Watneys beer wagon and the Peroni. Good to see Lima living on with the Hornby Railroad range. Cheers Paul.
Cheers Paul, I think those Lima will be around for a few years yet
Sunday dinner and a show round the bargain models, what could be better on a windy Sunday afternoon , great video. All the best.
Cheers Gary, this year's remaining videos will mainly be bargain hunts. After all it's nearly Christmas!
Hello Rick and Pauline
Great video really like the Trix DCC controlled crane eye watering price though lol.
Cheers Deano, eye watering indeed!

No problem, we will try and get to the first event in February.

Cheers Ivo, quite the selection and we do miss a lot. All the best Rick
I go bargain hunting at the London Festival of Railway Modelling every year!! To me, a DCC Sound locomotive for under £150 is a good bargain!!
Sounds good.
@ As far as I’m concerned, it’s the absolute best place to get some fun models, and get some very good food at lunchtime!!
You need to get a Lima 31 in green, great models.
Hi Nick, I plan on getting a few in various colours. They do look great in green though! All the best Rick

Hi Danny, I asked Ian at Mount Tabor if he could find a blue one and get Pauline to buy it. All the best Rick
I would like to see if modelling the Volk’s Electric Railway would possibly promote this small heritage railway.
Not one I am familiar with so I will have to look it up. Best of luck with it.
You've taught me something, Rick: I never knew the reason for the red stripe (or lack of) on loco bearings until now.
Every day's a school day, and I wish I had easier access to the shows you go to, as the prices are very good!
Hi Stephen, we are here to entertain and inform. 😀
The other reason I want to model this railway is that, when I stay at the apartment in Brighton Marina, I use this railway every day to get to town and back to Black Rock.
Believe it or not, half of my freight wagons came free from either the Bachmann Collectors Club and The Model Railway Club.
Personally, I’d rather model a small, unusual railway. My favourite English narrow gauge railway is the Volk’s Electric Railway in Brighton.
And why would a steam fanatic like me want to model the first electric railway in the world? I wonder if it would be anything to do with my Asthma!!
SHOEE!
Electrics again, very reluctant to even hold a steam engine
Mainly diesels on the stalls, we love steam and diesel and have a 50/50 mix in our collection. There should be more steam for sale at Bolton Toy Fair this weekend. Cheers Rick
I dont know why anyone would buy a cl20 for £284 , When you know where sells same for under £260? Nice show as usual. Ps Retford show was pathetic!
