Hi, great video, there were some really nice items today, brings back memories of when I first started collecting model railways. You do get around some great shows, I wish there were some down my neck of the woods in the south, keep up videos coming they are appreciated, thanks for sharing.
Hi and thanks for watching, we do seem to be a bit applied for shows around here at the moment. Even though we do quite a few shows we always find items we have never seen before. All the best Rick
@@wellchuffedrailways Hi, I’m going to look around my area for toy fairs, there is a model railway show in Bristol next weekend, it’s about 75 miles away from where I live, I might wait until the Great Electric show in October when most of the retailers will be there, and it’s only 30 miles away, the best model shows and shows and train/toy fairs are up your neck of the woods, we’re talking 200 plus miles away, i guess I will keep looking, take care.
I had a triang sit on bus ,ironically I got to drive real Routemasters on the 9/94 routes when I was a London bus driver my grandad got it for me when I was a baby 1968😮,I’m a class 1 PCV holder so I can drive stick and auto ,but my heart was with Royal Mail so after 2 years I went back grandad was a postie too, miss him , All the best Mark 😊😊 Big woof to Bobby 🐕
So that was where your bus interest started. Cheers for watching Bobby and Lola are both in the next video, don't worry I won't tell him you were a postman. (he's not a fan lol) All the best Rick
Hi Rick and Pauline, that seems to be a very good ground for bargains, saw some lovely stuff there. I'm still going though the pile of locomotives and wagons here that I brought back from the UK, having a great time right now… It seems that these small traders markets/shows, are a better opportunity to find bargains, than the big shows, interesting to see… Cheers, Danny
Hi Danny, the toy fairs can be full of bargains and they are a lot cheaper to attend as well. I'm glad to hear your recent purchases are keeping you busy. All the best Rick
Bargains galore, really good prices for the quality. And a good choice. A good venue. Nice building and comfortable to walk around. Thanks for sharing your day with us. You will have to work overtime this week Rick, like your choices. Looking forward to the video showing of the spoils. 😎
Hi guys, another great video, I like the Bond cars & The Triang red shunter. Trina got me that one for Christmas. Keep them coming guys. All the best. Carl
4:32 BR420 AKA Olympia triebwagen, these were designed for the Munich commuter network but ended up in the same kind of service all over Germany. The front end has Scharfenberg couplers (non-functional). The design is by Rowa, Roco bought most of their inventory, and did some changes to the model (including allowing to store it uncoupled, as it originally came in a 110cm long box) Depending on the version it can or cannot drive without assembling the whole thing. 5:36 The scale issue is probably caused by the huge motor that was used in these (which was the case with more manufacturers at the time) 5:52 That for 150 pounds is an absolute bargain, they usually go for 200 euros or more. These have serious pulling power 6:26 Probably a Roco one because of the raised number plates. These came with a sprue with multiple numbering options 7:37 The infamous HO class 33... Im surprised that they did it in blue (as the best known one here is the green one). 7:54 You missed the one hiding in the white box... that is one of the most impressive continental models around 8:03 Tgat really needs a good round of cleaning 8:06 These were also made in blue, a complete one should also include headboards for 3 named trains. Jim at Hovermotion has a video ua-cam.com/video/tmeqfySFOjw/v-deo.html 16:57 That's a Vt95, a very vintage one with a short pickup skid. A variant of these was bought as a pilot project by BR, and most of them are still around at museum railways. Also very popular on German museum railways as they are cheap to operate. 21:02 4 cars is the minimum length, as the intermediate vehicles share the couplers. 21:15 2nd gen Lima CIWL (without raised panel lines). These were included in many starter sets. 30:28 Marklin, Fleischmann, Roco and Piko did the same. Fleischmann had only partially painted models in kit form (you got some kind of base coat but no painted details) For those branded novelty wagons: did Hornby receive money for putting brand names in their starter sets?
Hi Ivo, thanks for all the useful info. Always good to read your comments as we know very little about the continental scene. I have no idea if Hornby got paid for the novelty wagons but it would not surprise me if both parties benefitted from the arrangement. All the best Rick
Very good show and so much variation in stock. I don't know if these are just having more Euro stock or You are now showing it more... either way, it's great to see it all. I also find it cool to see old Graham Farish in OO scale, as I am used to only seeing it in N-Scale. You also were doing the Bond cars... very cool, as well.
Hi Anthony, there has been more Euro stock recently and we do enjoy looking at it as it's nice to see something different. Of course one potential problem is we might end up buying some. Thanks for watching and all the best Rick.
Thanks Andy, it surprises us the amount of stuff we see that is new to us. I do find the continental stuff very interesting as I haven't a clue what most of it is. Cheers Rick
I went to my first toy fair in Brecon last weekend and can't wait to have the money to spend at another. Am looking for blue pullman coaches as top of my list.
HM3000 was the top of the range conventional (12v DC) controller made by Hammant & Morgan of Watford, England, right at the end of their existence. It featured inertia acceleration and braking amongst its features. The company was bought by Hornby in 1980, at which time the production of this model was discontinued, it seems that the design knowledge, including the schematic, was lost though during the process.
We have done the toy fair at Stafford but not the exhibition. We found there was a nice selection of old and new but it does take a good while to get around. Cheers Rick
Hi there Rick, have you been there recently for a nether video lol. Just wondering. So much to see here and wow I do like a lot here lol!!Ok well I was wondering about your shows. I do go to shows here in the US. But I will look over a nice Locomotive and it looks good. BUT I do get ripped off and it won't work. But it wins I am at the show :(!! How do you buy at your show and not get taken Rick ?.!!! Candy time :) and I do see some nice Corgi's too!! More nice Cars yes, the cars that you are showing are from the 007 ceres. And to get them over here they are $$$ yes .Great that you got some!!! did you get the Loco that was in the box the Black one? The ending was great such a great show thanks fro taking me long for it cheers mate!!!!!
Hi Brad, yes we are back at Port Sunlight again. We last went in December which seems an awfully long time ago. Most of the traders are familiar faces and attend most of the shows so there is an element of trust there. The Bond cars are great as they do a lot of the peripheral vehicles like you see here. I've quite a collection now. Who knows I might do a video on my cars in the future. I only bought the little red loco and a KitKat wagon. All the best Rick
Loved the video guys. Those Bachmann wagons were very cheap. Do you remember the price on that Trix 76 Woodhead loco? They often sell around the £100 plus mark.
another great video guys always enjoy your vids just interested to know how you know where all the swap meets /toy fairs /Exibitions are and when just curious many thanks
Hi Geoffrey, we have a Facebook group called Well Chuffed Railways which lets people know what events are on. Failing that there is a website called the UK Model Directory which lists exhibitions and Fairs apart from the Barry Potter ones for some reason. All the best Rick
Good show lots of great bargains thank you for sharing 👍
Thanks for watching Clive

It was a good fair Rick. That Lima LMS 09, I almost bought it for the chassis, but resisted the temptation! Thanks for sharing. Steve.
