@TeKnoVKNG23 ive read river of pain and the audiobook version but it could easily be made into a series. If they made it like 24 each series was a day it would be epic
@@woooooooo9061 Spoilers for the book, so don't read if you plan on reading it. Basically there is a Colonial Marines detachment on Hadley's Hope for general colony defense, and a department of WY scientists there as well to "study" the planet while the processors do their work. It's revealed pretty early on that the scientists know about the derelict and they have a whole lab set up in a secret part of the colony along with an escape ship that only they know about. The book covers the infestation and the marines and colonists trying to fight back, which they are able to do with some success until the xenos start using the air ducts to abduct people and get more drones. The end of the book is basically their last stand(right before Newt escapes into the air ducts in the tie in comic book to ALIENS) and the marine captain who has found out about the escape ship is able to get himself, another marine, one of the scientists, and a young girl to the ship and they escape. They never really followed up on it which is kind of a shame.
Thank you for another video. May I just take 1 min of your time and THANK YOU for all the videos you have put up. I work outside and have earbuds and during my work I have gone through all your videos. They are so good and have given me so much joy, working and hearing all the stories. I like how in Alien Isolation, we get to see how transponder signal on the detelict was turned off. In my eyes its definitely part of the cannon. Its a shame sega doesnt want to revisit a sequel.
I loved Amandas’ story, but I don’t want the sequel to detail her story, other than revealing what happened to her. I want a new game, similar mechanics, that does the same thing with Aliens. Whereby, despite your powerful weapons, you feel the need to hide from the creatures more often than engage in combat with them.
She must have been rescued because in the Aliens movie Ripley finds out she was in her 60's when she died, a few years before Ripley was picked up. Theres even a photo of her in the extended directors cut, so Amanda Ripley definitely made it back to Earth.
A huge amount of work went into the editing here. The multiple cuts synchronising with the narration must have taken ages! It was all totally seamless, you can be very proud of this one AT, thank you.
I wouldn't, some stories are best left untold. The reason Hadley's hope is so scary is because you don't know what happened and your imagination runs with it
There is a Dark Horse graphic novel, Newt’s Tale - which details the sequence of events from Newt’s parents face hugger-trip to the colonists last stand, to Newt’s escape & survival, before the Marines arrived. It would make an excellent Rogue One style movie or mini series, if they chose to reboot this entire franchise properly
You think so? I dig Hicks has a character. And Micheal Biehn played him to perfection. Thing is, if he didn’t make it out of the hive. Everything would have still played out the exact same way as it did. He listened to Ripley’s recommendations and did what she suggested. Leaving and nuking the spot. Going over the blueprints and pretty much instructing him and them on what to do. They would still have done everything they went over. Aside from shooting some “bugs”, All he did really was show her how to use the pulse rifle and did some welding. If anyone is the brilliant survivalist, it’s Newt.
@@user-om5or5bi1p Right?! Don’t get me wrong. I love everything about this movie. But Hicks is kind of irrelevant to what goes down. He’s just there for the ride.

Nice to see you back posting videos - I saw the community post about taking a break and wanted to thank you for the great channel. The Alien movies mean a lot to me and there is nothing like your channel out there that I have seen.
I love how Ripley was wrong about only to use flamers in the hive. If Vasquez and Drake hadn´t disobeyed those orders, every marine would have died inside. I think this is a good thing for the movie, to show that even badass characters can have flaws.
I think it was Gorman's idea to only use flamethrowers. After pointing out the danger from the armor-piercing rounds, Ripley wanted the Marines to withdraw.
What do you mean wrong? It was Vasquez and Drake shooting which causing the core to rupture which caused the explosion at the end. Yes Vasquez and Drake saved the marines but their shooting did results in the explosion which could have gone off sooner than later. Marines should have withdraw and swap to appropriate weapons then go back in.
Ripley had just cautioned Gorman about the marines being located beneath the heat exchangers. She was aware that if the creatures had taken refuge there, either for their increased metabolism due to warmth or tactical reasons, disabling the heat exchangers could trigger a dangerous thermonuclear chain reaction with catastrophic consequences. Ripley knew that if part of the cooling system were disabled, it could cause the fusion reactor to overheat and lose control, leading to the later resultant thermonuclear runaway reaction. Breaching the heat exchanger led to the reactor's energy output escalating to a level where it became akin to a hydrogen bomb, with a devastating release of energy and destruction.

I do not count "River of Pain" the book as canon. It tries to retcon the Space Jockey into an Engineer and it allows for survivors to make a getaway in a transport ship. Let me brutally clear to everyone here. Newt's Tale, a 90s comic by Dark Horse explained what happened. She was LITERALLY the only survivor. In my opinion, from a writing perspective, River of Pain cheapens the horror of what she went through and tries to marry Prometheus to Aliens.

Great video. My guess is the eggs from Alien 3 made it onto the ship when Bishop and Hicks were waiting for Ripley to find Newt. I would guess a drone Xenomorph did it sensing the impending destruction of the hive due to reactor meltdown. Or maybe at the direction of the Queen. A way to preserve the hive. Hicks was in and out of consciousness and Bishop was distracted by the chaos of the moment. It’s the only thing that makes sense to me.
One mistake... Pvt Frost didnt incenerarate the chest burster, Apone took frost's flamethrowerand the Sgt and cpl Dietrich burned it, leaving Frost to use his pistol

Then, shortly before she attacked Bishop, that the Facehuggers had simply detached and hidden themselves aboard the ship.
There is evidence of this at the end of Aliens, after the credits. You can faintly hear the skittering of Facehugger legs across the deck. It can be presumed that the Queen grabbed a couple of Facehuggers to assist her in capturing the creatures that destroyed her hive. When the Queen clambered onto the Dropship's undercarriage, she may have decided a new hive was needed and "commanded" these Facehuggers to hide, then attack when things were clear. After sensing the death of the Queen, they kept a low profile until things got quiet, then followed the human scent to the hyper-sleep chambers. If you just ignore the egg and assume they were a couple of carry-ons, its a fairly smooth start to the movie.
