- Vietnamese Food is a must try anywhere in Vietnam but Ninh Binh takes it for a little spin.
Goat tends to be the Vietnamese food of choice here so I got more than my fill in. This food tour starts off at my Homestay, Ninh Binh Mountainside Homestay with the most delicious hotpot I have ever eaten.
I cannot begin to say enough good things about the family that runs this Homestay. Extremely helpful and go out of their way to make sure your stay is as comfortable as possible. The amazing food they make is just an added bonus.

My next day after sightseeing at the Bai Dinh Pagoda(The largest Buddhist Temple complex in Vietnam) we spend the evening sampling assorted grilled meats and jackfruit snails at Phố Cổ Hoa Lư. An area in Ninh Binh that will remind you of Hoi An with much more Vietnamese people. Loved this area.
On my last day I had one of the best breakfast's I have ever eaten. Miến Lươn or eel noodle soup at Miến Lươn 89. The sweetest owner you will ever find. Get there early though because this place gets really busy.

For lunch we stop by Nhà Hàng Dê Chính Thư for some more goat meat. this time grilled goat. One with a lemon marinade and the other marinated in chili. I also give Tiết canh (goat blood pudding) another try.

I finish back off at my Homestay with the owners, Toan and Hao with crispy friend chicken rice and Pho Cuon rolls. Once again, i am going to scream from the top of the Ninh Binh Mountains how amazing this family is. If you are planning a trip to Ninh Binh you should definitely chek them out.

Just dropped this Ninh Binh food tour and it's a wild ride! I dive into sizzling grilled meats, local specialties like tiet canh (gotta see it to believe it!) and the Ninh Binh classic - goat hot pot!
I drop by Pho Co Hoa Lu and Mien Luon 89, two local gems bursting with flavour. Extra special thanks to Ninh Binh Mountainside Homestay for the amazing stay and delicious breakfasts!
Let me know in the comments below what your favourite Vietnamese dish is
where are you headed to next?
The grilled ground pork is Nem Nuong ( a specialty of Nha Trang/Ninh Hoa and the Mekong Delta area ) and the pork skewer is Thit Xiêng Nuong . Usually we eat those BBQ meats with veggies , pickles , aromatic herbs , rice vermicelli , wrapped in rice paper and dipped in a special sauce ( a secret formula of each restaurant ) .
Definitely Greatest of All Times
Thank you
FYI Bai Dinh pagoda is actually not the biggest Buddhist complex temple in Vietnam . There is a much bigger and more beautiful one named Tam Chuc located in Ha Nam (closer to Hanoi than Ninh Binh) . I strongly recommend you to check-out that site on your next trip in Vietnam .
Thanks for the info. Honestly I did not research it, I just went by what I was told there.
i live in Vietnam but I never have chanced to travel in Ninh Binh, when I watch your video, I can know about this place too much
Hope it helped
really love your videos and always look forward to seeing your upcoming videos
Glad you like them! Thank you so much for tuning in my friend
I'm First to comment! Love the video
Second to comment. 😝
@@PureDetour what country are you off to next?
gut Englisch,,, schön gesprochen
Danke
🥰🥰🥰
Can't believe you did the blood bowl again!
I can't either, Elf. I wish I hadn't after I did it😂
Love the video! You are a brave man! Some of the foods are a no for me😝 Cannot wait for your new chapter!
I knew a couple of these would be a no go for you, Sadohr. 😂
@@PureDetour You know me too well😉
Sad to see you leaving the country without trying bún mắm, bún nước lèo or lẩu mắm. Maybe next time. Have a safe journey.
I'm sad too. 90 days is not nearly enough time to be there. These will definitely go into my Spreadsheet for "next time". I assure you I will be back soon
100° F and you're having a hot pot meal?🥵 I'd be looking for shave ice.😁 It looks good as I sit here in 60°F. I think Asia is experiencing an early heat wave. I was in HK 2 weeks ago and was expecting 65°F, but it was 85° and humid! I took my long sleeve shirts, puffy jacket, and a couple fleece pullovers on a tour of Asia.😂
It was blazing hot while we were in Ninh Binh. Hanoi had a few days of extreme heat too. It is even worse here in my current location. Got in a couple day ago with the intention of filming as soon as I got here and have given up on day time filming until Monday. If you don't see a new video next week you will know why😂
Now I need goat meat.. Thanks a lot. 😂
Get some goat, Kevin
@@PureDetour we have goat leg and bones here at our local Asian Filipino market. Lol
Wow! Really? A jackfruit snail taste like jackfruit? How is that possible? Don't be rediculous! I'm one of your subscriber but what you say on camera? Made me LOL! Might as well tell the truth! Or maybe you're just over reacted and exagerated 🤣
Redicuolus(sic)? Well in fairness, that was the first time I had ever eaten one and how would I possibly know that they actually taste like what they feed on? I have eaten many things that taste nothing like what they consume. Chicken being probably the most common of them Most chickens are fed a steady diet of corn yet I have never tasted corn when eating chicken. It's really not out of the realm of possibility that I was surprised it tasted so much like jackfruit
*_Chào Pure Detour_* !

😂
Wish IO would have had more time to explore the food scene in Ninh Binh and the surrounding areas. Next time my friend
