Aw, I respect that Pewds didn't want a selfie but then took time to engage in a nice conversation and let him pet Edgar... That will be more memorable for the employee, anyway.
That is the point of no selfies for a lot of people. Selfies are incredibly superficial and just a way to brag about an encounter. A conversation is memorable and more often fun for both parties.
So when a famous person doesn't want to take a picture, just engage in a conversation and respect their choice.
This is super random, but I follow this celebrity who values his privacy a lot. When he was in his hometown, he came across another famous person he admired, but instead of approaching that person, he decided to just view it as a memorable incident since he always did not wish to interrupt his personal life with a selfie. He took to social media to post about it, so that's how fans knew of it. Before that, I always thought if I ever met him on the street (literally not gonna happen) I would probably faint but hopefully take a photo with him. Now, I think I will keep my distance to respect his boundaries, since at the end of the day, famous people are humans. Of course, I may still faint lol.

It'd probably be nice to have both, like what eddy said, but people can't always rlly have that (Maybe they're hurrying somewhere, have other things to do, have social anxiety, etc.) so like even getting something small to remember the encounter like a photo, autograph, whatever is still nice.
