Shravya Season 4 - The music competition - Winners Meet February 2023

The Winners Meet of Shravya Season 4 happened in the presence of Guru Padma Bhushan awardee, Sangita Kalanidhi Dr. Sudha Ragunathan.
Sudhaarnava Academy for Musical Excellence, launched on 14 April, 2017 has over the last 5 years made tremendous inroads into many facets of teaching.
‘Shravya’ the music competition that saw Season 1 in 2019 in India as a live event had to take a different turn on account of the pandemic. It was a US exclusive on the online platform in 2021, which then opened up to global participation in 2022 and here we are once again in 2023 with Season 4….quite a journey it has been!
Shravya Season 4 had over 300 participant across 5 countries with more than 500 audios that had to be shortlisted! Of these, 60 participants were shortlisted and finally we had 30 winners! 'Varnam' seems to have been the most sought after category!
When Dr. Sudha Ragunathan spoke, she mentioned how she had noticed that the ones who were shortlisted and who could not make it to the winners list seem to have lost out with very small margins. Lots of focus and practise should help overcome this and make the participants understand the finer nuances that go into selection!
Competitions are the stepping stones to variety and confidence in learning music - Sudhaji mentioned that she herself was a product of competitions and between the age of 18 and 20, must have attended about 200 competitions! She expressed that it was a pleasant surprise to see so many software professionals. Music definitely brings in so much creativity into work and she appreciated each one of them for their passion towards music.
