    I came across a frequency while doing a custom search that turned out to be a DMR system. I've been working on putting it together and this is an update video on my progress so far and how I've set up my system settings.
    Note: You need the DMR upgrade to hear DMR stations.
    Please leave any questions, comments, tips down below and make sure to hit the subscribe button for more!
    I've got something to test out with the sds100 next week as well so make sure to stay tuned for that video. Sorry for the delay in the last couple of weeks, I've been a bit busier than usual. Stay safe, Cheers!

    You are doing well young man. Just keep them coming, based on your knowledge. If you run into something that you aren't sure of, learn it and teach us. Thanks for your time.

    Keep in mind some systems make use of the time slot - my local shopping centre here in Australia use a single frequency, with security on time slot 1 and cleaners on time slot 2 - both use the same TG but are different "channels " on the radios.
    Then you have sections of the shopping centre that use the same frequency again but different TG. It's amazing how many "channels" can be used using a single frequency.

    Is it possible to to discover the 2nd frequency of a reapeter during listening to the main frequency by using ŕepeter search
    ?

    Could you possibly make a video or explain how to get full list around 3:19. I thought I followed your instructions properly but I don’t get that full list. I’m trying to program a ham Dmr repeater in. I have frequency, talk group and time slot

      And can I just log into the software connect to the scanner and add via radio reference pages?

    • @BoyAndAScanner
      @BoyAndAScanner  2 роки тому

      All the frequencies in the radio reference database are already built into the scanner and it just updates that database via the programming software. You can see what systems your county or city are using on radio reference but just keep in mind it'll be the same inside the scanner so if a system is using P25 according to radio reference then that's what you'll need on the scanner.

    I monitor my Public Safety in the malty high rise Coop Community where I live ( 36 buildings) and found that information on Radio Reference. I just added the info on RR to the scanner and can monitor all their frequencies and radios (UID) without inputting any Unit ID. I am sure I programmed them in all as Conventional and they use DMR. What would be the benefit of adding the Unit IDs and where would I put them? Thanks for the video. Will watch it again. Thanks again.

  • @LURKING323
    @LURKING323 4 роки тому +1

    Quick question, so is the UID a must when programming the DMR frequency? I noticed I just input the color code, name the TGID and that’s about it. I need to input all the info and see if it makes a difference.

    • @BoyAndAScanner
      @BoyAndAScanner  4 роки тому

      You don't need it when your figuring out the system but put it in once you get it. Keep an eye on it while monitoring in case you get some activity that displays a uid.

    • @LURKING323
      @LURKING323 4 роки тому +1

      Boy And A Scanner Thank you, I been adding the UID to the frequency’s now. Never cared to add it before. Now sure if it makes a difference, but let’s see :) Can’t wait for see what you got coming in.

    I know DMR but what is DMR-1?

    • @davidbee3704
      @davidbee3704 3 роки тому +1

      I think he means DMR Tier II.
      My understanding of the three different DMR systems or "Tiers" is as follows:
      DMR Tier I: Single frequency and usually simplex operation, that is, one radio talking directly to another radio using line of sight.
      DMR Tier II: one particular frequency, radios communicating to each other via a repeater, that is, transmit and receive frequencies are different.
      DMR Tier III: trunked system using multiple frequencies with a control channel (CC)

    Not an easy way to discover system info, but it’s the SDS’s version of “promiscuous mode”.
